To be honest I think Adele is one of the very few names signed by majors who can do whatever she wants, due to simply how much profit she brings to the label, even with this “underwhelming” debut.

I agree: I expected higher streams though. And I agree, that’s what you get putting out an album full of 6+ mins songs. Still she got more than 7100 streaming sales from Spotify alone yesterday by my calculations. The numbers will go down but it can still be on course for 50k+ of streaming! Again, I expected more, but what can you do!

Even taking out the cassettes ‘Golden’ has been selling 2.5k per week, and that’s without promo or R2 AirPlay. Someone is being too bitter! When the album is sold purely on fanbase it does what the latest the 1975 album did, i.e. falling 1-34 or such.

This time last year Kasabian were at 27 there with 130.7k and in the year end chart they ended up at #40 precisely, getting to 140k so it’s gonna be close. That said, this time last year #40 sold 111k and right now it’s on 103k. So if I put a bet I’d say she would make it.

This is a sign of a flop but let’s see how it goes next week. The streaming is nice so I’d say she has some chances to stay in the top-20.

11k (and counting, should be about 20k by the end of 2019) on streaming is nothing to be ashamed for an artist like Kylie. Also I bet it’s one of the biggest streaming figures for BMG albums, as BMG tend to take artists with “physical” fanbase and promote them accordingly.

Since when is everybody releasing an Ed Sheeran co-write?! Rita Ora was happy to get ‘Your Song’ before the rest jumping the train.

Interesting that streaming is accounted for 20% of the overall sales, a nice result for a “physical” artist, which means its crossing over and that market has a potential to her.
