I think we should really, really get behind this one. It's clear they threw a lot at this single to be at least a minor hit, and I don't want her to go back to "small" releases if this one underperforms, especially after the MOM bad performance!

Actually I was also thinking Timebomb somehow! Love Timebomb, so it’s a really good thing to me. Don’t expect anything big chart-wise, I’ll just be happy receiving new music so soon and with a tour hopefully in Mexico too before July!

I don’t have the data to prove my theory, but I genuinely think that Spotify has recalibrated their algorithms in the past year or so, that the big songs have become even bigger through the passive streaming (not only the playlists — but also the suggested tracks, auto play etc.)

I don’t know where you get overproduced vocals! Sounds pretty natural, even if a bit nasal, to me. Especially feels natural after ‘My Oh My’ — now that’s where the vocals got a tad overproduced!

I think it's gonna be a bit flash-in-the pan (and anyway, the sound isn't really super commercial) - but regardless, it has done its job and also brought her a number one, which is super deserving for this era!

I know I’ll sound pessimistic but at this point I’ll be happy with more than a week in the top-100 :( And it’s not even down to a song — I love it — it seems that for an English speaking song exactly this year it has become significantly harder to break through on Spotify locally in the UK, if it’s not big in USA / internationally.

Hopefully 360 also joins the top-10 to make it all 3 in the top-10

Tbh now I’m happy it’s apparently for a re-release I mean it’s definitely an ear worm, and I’ll probably have quite a few of listens of it. But I really hate the vocal production, and as others pointed out, why derange Kylie’s and Bebe’s voices when they had Tove Lo’s voice perfectly made? Or did Tove specifically ban any of her voice alterations? :kink: I get where they were coming from and what they were trying to create, but they kinda washed the essence out of it while in the process. I’ll be happy if she grabs a hit with this of course, because she cannot lose a momentum now. And the song was cooked to be a hit: with the collab, with the “hiiii”, with simple-on-purpose lyrics, and I think the reminiscence of Padam/Head was also made on purpose. I kinda feel the annoying voice autotune was also made on purpose to “hook” you. Will it work — we shall see. But part of me wishes they wouldn’t have bothered with this push, instead quietly dropping the deluxe tracks of Tension with Heavenly Body / Drum / maybe other leaked tracks, sell the usual 20k deluxe copies with those and save the gems (if there are any) for the next album.

I feel her vocals are too overprocessed in the chorus to be honest But it’s definitely a catchy song. And all of the hints make sense!

Soooooo The description of a child between Head and Padam was spot-on! I’ll need to give it more listens. Can’t decide if it’s huge or too generic. I actually imagined this is how Padam would sound before actually hearing it!

Ugh I really hoped they’d avoid it :lol: and they want to release a new album soon too, it might happen that the re-release date of ‘Tension’ would be closer to the new album than the original release of ‘Tension’!

I don’t know how reliable is it, but I saw a screenshot with the CD and cassette being released on 12th and the vinyls being released in a month on 9th of Aug!

Steve Mac is a big gun! Don’t see any writing credits either from any of the performers. I hope it’s not too generic / commercial and is in the catchy / quirky side of the field. Also hope it’s also not part of Tension x2, but the visuals so far seem to be pointing at the new era!

It is firmly my favourite now outside of the 3 singles, and in fact I prefer it to ‘Training Season’ also!
