... and now it is on 10 million streams! I know it had the biggest head start, but nevertheless it's the third song from Tension to reach 10m! To be honest I hope something else from Tension overtakes it, but without any extra big push only 'Hold On To Now' stands a chance of doing so.

I’d say OK Apple and iTunes chartings all around! I suspect for Apple Music it’s being combined with Tension though. To be honest I did expect much better both in debut week and the next chart-run, but I think it just shows that I didn't really accommodate to the new chart climate, where the physical sales are non-existent outside of the debut week, and then it relies on streaming where Padam wasn't enough. But overall I think it is going on track with DISCO on Spotify, and slightly better + Padam being her 3rd biggest streaming song ever already. And on Apple the album did amazingly well worldwide. So yeah, it didn't match my expectations, but... it still did very well, both with or without Padam?

I think Hands may be one of those singles that won’t be liked much by a big part of the fanbase, but with a push and a feature could become a hit (maybe even an annoyingly enduring type of hit lol). I do really see the potential in this one if handled right!

I really don’t know why Spotify streaming hasn’t really took off, especially when we see it’s possible to do so and we had 9 songs top-200 on Apple and numerous songs charting there worldwide. I wish Apple Music were releasing their streaming numbers!

Okay, after listening to the album in the plane across the pond, I can tell I ASCENDED with Just Imagine! The biggest grower. Vegas High grew on me too. I don’t know what sorcery Kylie does on me, but I keep loving album after album again and again since she joined BMG at least.

I am sorry to come across a bit negative, it wasn’t my intention at all! I just expected something significantly higher, given how Padam and Tension performed and with the overall hype, but I’ll manage my expectations. Everything regardless is a fantastic result, maybe I expected a little bit too much! The market overall grew significantly too though. Album streaming sales in the UK: W/E 12/11/2020: 1 389 944 W/E 28/09/2023: 1 886 343 (+36%). And Tension streaming grew by 26% compared to DISCO (if we take out the 15th and 16th track of DISCO, the growth would have been 37%, which is pretty much in line with the market growth). This is why I projected and expected higher streams. But at the same time the physical overall sales slumped from 480,880 to 261,365 copies. So yeah, you are right regarding the physicals — the percentage of Kylie sales among overall weekly sales is going to be huge and incredibly impressive!

So I overestimated pretty much everything by around 100K, oops! Singles apart, this is not much higher than DISCO. @1705652519521632513 At least she’s smashing it on Apple Music!

They changed the rule to a more logical one — if by calculations the song takes off ACR by increasing by 25%, they apply it immediately and not to the next week’s chart. It makes a lot of sense, as the next week the effect is often worn off and this doesn’t reflect properly what it should reflect.

I am a bit underwhelmed by the initial sales data for the first day / pre-orders, given with DISCO they shipped the standard cassettes a little bit later. But one day sales are very deceiving due to missed data, so Monday should give us a more clear prospect. I am as well a little underwhelmed by Hold On To Now’s performance on Spotify, as I expected a sure-fire top-100? Happy Tension’s (just about) back though!

My very wild guess would be: Padam — 750K Hold On To Now — 650K Things We Do for Love — 300K+ Tension — 500K The rest between 200-300K Now I’m actually interested how far off will I be haha.

I actually love ‘Love Train’, didn’t expect this type of song from Sky Adams at all!

After the second listen, now fully with the bonus tracks: I wouldn't call it all killer, but it's definitely no filler. The only song I could definitely live without is Just Imagine. And there are many highlights! My only critique is that is leaning too much into 80's vibes, and Padam really stands out. '10 out of 10' actually helps it to connect a bit, but still, we need more of the Padamic sound. I don't ask for a carbon copy, but I think you know what I mean. Bonus points for the bonus tracks that are much more interesting than those from 'Golden' and 'DISCO', 'Lost Without You' apart. And although 'Hands' is not my favourite of all of the tracks, I kinda feel it could work perfectly as a 4th single with some feature?! I'd say these early streams are excellent for Kylie. It is literally just some hours in the Australasian markets, without UK/Ireland and Americas, which bring BIG numbers. Also this is what Sugababes' Lost Tapes opened in their whole proper day of streaming :cry: Green Light joins the top-200 and is the 9th track on Apple Music from the album to do so. Since 10 out of 10 is stupidly unavailable, we're only waiting for Story now (and the bonus tracks if we're lucky). We have a proper album bomb from Kylie on Apple!

This is how things stand as on 'day 0' on Spotify, some streams counted from the markets where Friday comes a bit earlier. I'd say very strong showing, especially for Hold On to Now! This is all completely without UK and all Americas, and with just 1-2-3 hours from mainland Europe. I think it doesn’t matter with albums — as long as you don’t play the same track on loop, everything will count. You can even play the Padam EP with 3 remixes on loop, and everything will count, as for Spotify those are technically different tracks. Very strong showing on Apple Music indeed, and there’s still around one more day to grow. And everything since Hold On To Now will fully be counted towards streaming, so we can expect some very healthy figures for the album streams!

Okay, so finally dug in! Listened to the standard version, will let myself breathe a bit and listen to the deluxe tracks tomorrow. The album is definitely more cohesive than I thought, though Padam is indeed an outlier. Hopefully they make more tracks with that type of sound for the eventual re-release. Overall it’s a very well-thought piece of work and is very good to listen to from start to finish. I expected myself to love Things We Do for Love and Hands, but those didn’t impress me that much. At the same time love One More Time and actually like Vegas High much more than I expected from the snippets. Story is LUSH. Amazing closer. Love it. 10 out of 10 grew on me in the context of the album. I think if it had been released just that — as an album track — it would had gotten much better reviews. For now I definitely prefer it to Disco. Golden is still better for me, as to me Kylie really shone through there. And I think it’s on par with Aphrodite to me. Overall — amazing job, and tomorrow I have three more tracks to listen to, yay!

Very nice idea with those visualisers! Guess what, it is STILL not out in Mexico on Spotify, and I’m (im)patiently waiting for it. And I have a work call tomorrow at 7 am 🥺
