Now That's What I Call An 80s Christmas!
The song was re-released because of the clay animation video (it was done for a BBC2 programme called 'Arena').

Liverpool have accepted a £15 million from Bournemouth for Jordon Ibe. I know it's silly to make comparisons but if he is worth that, how much for Joe Allen (in his last year of his contract)?

Phenomenon of washed-up Artist getting boost in Album Chart
Ah, I was huge a Shaky fan in the '80s .... bought a lot of singles of his. Though I was only a child then! I did buy his 2005 double A-side on CD as well (it was due to a reality TV show he was on and won). 'This ole Shaky' is a perfect album title for him :D

Phenomenon of washed-up Artist getting boost in Album Chart
Falling sales has contributed but good airplay helps. For example, Rick Astley's 'Keep Singing' (track 1 on his album) was playlisted on Radio 2 (I believe A-Listed). If Radio 2 is the most listened to music station it follows that an A-listing will help sales and chart position of the album. The single reached number 40 on the sales only chart- streaming seems to hinder 'heritage' acts. It was the same for the All Saints in regards to their singles ... playlisted on Radio 2 and an appearance on Chris Evans's Breakfast Show (the most listened to breakfast show in the UK). As for who I would love to see back in the album charts ... Shakin' Stevens, please.

Predict: Rick Astley - Keep Singing
Reached number 40 on the sales chart ... didn't reach the Top 100 Official chart. Shame, really, I think it's a great song.

The Suedehead Chart Commentary
Great write up, as always! Didn't know anything about Babymetal, assumed it was a heavy metal act. The Offical Charts website says they have the highest charting album by a Japanese act - the first was Tomita who reached number 17 with 'Snowflakes are Dancing' in 1975.

Barclays Premier League chat ii
Remi Garde leaves Aston Villa by mutual consent after 4 months in charge.

WWE buzzchat II
They showed WWF Heat on Sunday afternoons and showed 4 pay per views live, starting with the Royal Rumble in 2000. The one where there was a swimsuit contest and Mae Young took part. I think Mae flashing the audience led to a tape delay in the live pay per views on Channel 4.

Christmas TV • twenty fifteen
BBC Four is showing some classic children's programmes tonight - Blue Peter, Grange Hill, John Craven's Newsround and Play School from 7pm tonight. There's also a documentary at9pm on The Golden Age of Children's TV. Loved when CITV did this a few years back to celebrate a 30th anniversary.

Top of the Pops on BBC4
Top of the Pops 2 - 2015 is repeated on Wednesday night at 11pm. Didn't realize it was on earlier this month until I read this topic this morning.

Barclays Premier League
Aston Villa were relegated at the end of the 1986-87 season ... think Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool, Man Utd and Spurs have been in the top division for longer.

Top of the Pops '15
That's what I thought when I first read it but I've a feeling it will be the same chart show format as now but with more chat and phone ins.

Top of the Pops '15

Doctor Who: Series 9
Glad I don't read any spoilers - even in the Doctor Who Magazine I don't read the episode preview until after the episode. Loved it - some of the scenes between the Doctor and Clara were beautiful - Clara urging him not to seek revenge was perfect.

NOW 92
Bit of a heads up if you haven't bought it yet ... Sainsbury's are selling Now 92 for a tenner. Have only listened to disc 1 and the first 8 on disc 2 ... did the song by Grace peak inside the top 100 in the UK?

UK overnight TV ratings '15
Surprised to read the Neighbours rating is the highest in two years ... I would have thought the hype and interest around the 30th anniversary would have seen a higher rating. Don't think Monday's episode had anything memorable in it.

Barclays Premier League
Like others, surprised at the speed of the sacking. Wonder where Rodgers will end up? His backroom staff have gone as well. Question for the Liverpool fans - which team did you enjoy watching the most: the team under Rodgers which came 2nd in 2013/14 or the team which came 2nd under Rafa in 2008/09?

Thanks for this, Fhcd - slight typo under Sean Kingston - should read 2011 instead of 2001.

Official Chart Show to move to Fridays from summer 2015
Christmas day is a Friday this year which means the Christmas chart will be announced on the 25th - I think this will be the third time this happened. If the X Factor final is on the previous Saturday with a Sunday release will there be a campaign to keep the 'midpoint' leader at number one? I like the tie in with CBBC - one of my major gripes is that the chart isn't broadcast on television (unless on the MTV stations). I've always enjoyed Greg James as a DJ and when he has sat in to present the chart show on a Sunday. I'm interested in the format of the 2 hour show - I hope they drop the repeat of the previous week's top 3. I'd like them to play the new entries from 40-21, any song climbing to a new chart peak from 40-21, the entire Top 20 with a Top 5 album countdown and a recap of 40-2 before the reveal of the number 1 single. Whether they could fit that in a 2 hour show is another matter ...
