  1. It's really not hard to predict which song will win. The hard thing is to predict what kind of concept will win. After all, it's an all-in-one contest with songs from various genres, cultures, languages and ideas. I find it easy to compare two rock songs performed by typical rock bands, however I find it difficult to compare a rock song with a Balkan ballad, for example. They are two separate worlds and might both be equally outstanding. In other words, you can't compare things that are not comparable. For this reason, I'd like to point out the different criteria that Europe may have during the Final night, and the most probable winner according to each concept: - if people vote for the traditional light europop summer hit, it's gonna be Sweden or Ukraine. Or Armenia, if they want ethno sound in the formula; - if a meaningful ballad is to win again, then we have Switzerland as winner; - if the jokes/gimmicks are to take control of the contest, then next year ESC will be in Ireland; - if the regional/diasporra voting is on the top, then the winner is Russia. I could say Serbia as well, but it won't happen for a second time that fast; - if the public looks for something completely new and innovative, Bosnia&Herzegovina has the best chances, followed by Croatia, Bulgaria and Belgium; So this is it, for me the winner is not a mystery. It's Europe's mood that I'd like to know. :D
  2. I'd make a bit different predictions. From semi 1, I do see Russia on the top, but I also see Bosnia&Herzegovina making its way to the final. That song is not going to get hit by the Irish turkey, they're quite different in style and concept. In this semi-final, I see only Ireland and Estonia as gimmicks/jokes, so the fun vote will be divided between them. Bosnia's entry is bizarre, but it's not going to be liked by the same people who vote for Verka Serduchka or Dustin the Turkey. It's too artistic, creative and original. In one word, it's alternative, and if people want such stuff this year, it will make it. Otherwise, Armenia, Andorra and Russia provide us with the typical europop pattern. Also, I don't see Romania in the top list, but strangely, I see Moldova there (yes, I like that song a lot  ). As for semi 2, it's going to be a close fight, this is the better group, in my opinion. I don't see the logic of Turkey in the top 3, and San Marino not even qualifying in the other semi-final - both songs are exactly the same style and performance, so this may only happen if we have the diasporra voting for Turkey again (though I'd prefer San Marino over it - I like the song). Malta and Hungary are out, however. In comes Cyprus and Portugal, I predict. A surprise success might be made by Croatia's entry - it's my absolute favorite song this year, though I'm probably the only one with that opinion. For the 5 countries that go straight to final, I predict a high place for Serbia and moderate success for Germany. I like UK's entry, it's quite good piece of music, but for some reason or another, it probably won't make high.
  3. I actually don't believe the qualifications prophecy. You can't precisely say which 10 countries from each semi will pass. I do believe however, that jury's votes might go exactly to the countries she pointed: Israel, Iceland or Switzerland. And the thing about the Tiger is interesting as well, I wonder if this might come true. :)
  4. Hello to everyone in this forum!~ I just wanted to tell you what a Greek fortune-teller said about this year's Eurovision long before most countries' national finals. Sure, we shouldn't believe such prophecies usually, but this one brings up some interesting points. Besides, it's the same fortune-teller who predicted Serbia would win last year. First, she said Kalomira was going to win in Greece, and this was long before Greece's final took place. She added however, that Greece won't make it to the Final of Eurovision this year. She predicted the following countries from each semi going to the final. Remember it was said and posted in the web before we knew most of the songs: from semi 1 (in no particular order): Andorra, Moldova, Romania, Poland, San Marino (and this will be a surprise, she marked), Rossia, Bosnia&Herzegovina, Montenegro, Belgium, and finally Israel from jury's votes; from semi 2 (in no particular order): Cyprus, Albania, Belarus, Hungary, Turkey, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Latvia, and also Iceland and Switzerland, but one of the two countries will make it with jury's votes; The fortune-teller predicted that the winner be again from the Balkans, most probably Bulgaria (though I doubt...). Now here comes the interesting part. She finally said the winning song will be rhythmic, performed by a sexy singer, and also that "this year the tiger will win". I thought this might mean performers who were born in the year of Tiger from the Chinese Zodiac, so I checked which of them are Tigers. And this is what came: Yoana (vocalist of Bulgaria's song), Tereza from Czech Republic, Geta Burlacu from Moldova, Sirusho from Armenia, Stefan from Montenegro and... Charlotte from Sweden.
