  1. They must just mean the USA delivers the biggest revenue, which I could believe. But no way is she a bigger artist in the USA over UK/Aus.
  2. I would agree that Kylie is obviously a priority at BMG, as arguably their biggest artist. However, it’s clear everything is done on a shoestring budget to maximise profit for BMG & Kylie. Kylie’s art direction nose dived after Kiss Me Once, DISCO and Tension album covers were terrible, the production on most of Golden and DISCO was bad. We only get 2 music videos for the albums. Vinyl and CD packaging is poor. I just feel like Kylie needs a fresh team of creatives around her, new ideas and inspiration.
  3. Happy for Kylie, another #1 in the bag! Those streaming sales/position are hard to ignore though, especially considering the album was clearly aimed to please the streaming market. Kylie has had great success with BMG, but I do wish she would close the chapter with them after this and resign with a major label.
  4. The last update for Tension was 11 weeks ago, where it had sold 93,324. Current sales are 96,532, meaning it sold 3,208 copies in 11 weeks, which means it sold roughly 291 copies a week. There’s 9 weeks left this year, which if it continued selling at this rate would be another 2,624 copies by the end of the year and would bring Tensions sales to 99,156 by the end of the year. So should go Gold (finally) by the end of January. God, that’s enough maths for one day.
  5. It’s been a super boring release week, no surprise deluxe, no UK promo and just no buzz in general. I’d like to think BMG are saving stuff for the following weeks so the album is not a one week wonder, but I really doubt it.
  6. Great sales, more than I expected. She has a really solid fanbase in the UK, I hope BMG have got some tricks up their sleeve for week 2 and 3 because that drop is going to be BAD. Streaming sales are very low, but I don’t think Kylie is winning round any new fans with this era, as the reception to all the singles has been very mixed.
  7. It’s gonna be very interesting to see the first sales update for Tension II, on first look it feels like there is less/buzz hype about this album, probably the least since Kiss Me Once, but on the other hand - we’ve no idea how the tour pre-sale bundles helped, just look at how much they helped Coldplay, so maybe that will make up for the shortfall in fan interest. Either way I think we’re in for a shock, it’s either going to be really low sales compared to Kylie’s other BMG albums, or way more than we expected due to the tour ticket album bundles.
  8. Taboo, Someone For Me, Good As Gone, Kiss Bang Bang & Hello are all really good. I’m not sure this needed to be a studio album though. Add Lights, Camera, Action to my list and this would’ve been a great Tension (Deluxe) album.
  9. It will be out of the top 10 by week 3  I’m probably alone in this, but I’m not bothered about Kylie getting a #1 album this time, especially if it’s going to go #1 and then drop out of the top 100 in week 2 (which I do think it might).
  10. They won’t be released to streaming, certainly not on week 1, the point of digital exclusives is to increase sales. BMG did the same thing with Steps and these were never added to streaming.
  11. There is 0 chance of LCA getting on Hot Hits UK and even if it somehow did get added the general public just aren’t here for the song. Apple Music is the best example of this, LCA is on their biggest playlist and yet the song peaked at #78 and dropped out of the top 200 in week 2. It’s currently 170 on the Apple Music pop chart, which is AWFUL considering the playlist support. Padam peaked at 5 and Tension at 20 on Apple Music, so it really just isn’t going to happen for LCA. It’s a shame as this will likely affect her support for the next release.

They better hope all 200,000 don’t ask for a refund, what is this crap they are releasing?! I listened out of curiosity and couldn’t believe how bad it was
  13. Tension II isn’t going to do anywhere near Tension or Disco numbers, less formats, less buzz, mixed fan reaction. If they get 20-25K, they should be happy with that.

Agreed, their streaming sales are low, so they will most likely be below 10K next week.
  15. #59 isn’t too bad. I don’t think the interest is there though to keep this in the top 100 next week, it’s free falling on Apple Music.
  16. I think this week would’ve been the only chance at top 40, it’s even stalled on Apple Music where playlisting is good.
  17. Very strange they’ve not bothered with physicals, maybe it’s because no one bought the My Oh My ones
  18. My feelings exactly. I feel like her team was like OH Kiss and Capital are playing Kylie again, let’s make lots of Kiss/Capital friendly Joel Cory/Sigala (generic) music. Nothing from this era is doing it for me really. I’m not ordering or buying anything for this era (until I’ve heard the album) but I’ve got tickets for the tour, so still supporting Kylie!
  19. It’s been added to Apple’s ‘Today’s Hits’ playlist as song #23. This is their biggest playlist, so that should help. Its also the first time she’s been added since ‘Tension’ (Single).
  20. I am usually able to get tickets for any venue with O2 Priority, so I also thought it was strange that only the O2 in London is available.
  21. Probably the ‘meh’ reaction to My Oh My (and the collabs) is the reason for them being moved to the end for the digital release. The vinyl would’ve been pressed months ago before MOM was even released. I’m not super excited for this release, like I usually would be with a Kylie album, mainly because the collabs have been varying degrees of bad and it’s all felt like a bit of a comedown after the highs of the Tension era.
  22. Wow, this is really good! Streets ahead of anything else Kylie has put her name to this year. Sounds current, I could see this being a hit organically.
  23. Do we know what the next likely certifications would be for Kylie singles? I would assume Slow and 2 Hearts both going silver?
  24. I really hope they’ve not wasted a video budget on this song!
  25. My Oh My is just so disappointing, Dance Alone and Midnight Ride were also poor, I’m just not here for Kylie’s 2024 output (for now) and we’ve still got the likely awful Joel Corry generic banger to come as well. It’s frustrating as Tension had some great songs, they could’ve pushed with a feature ‘Hands’, ‘Things We Do for Love’ and ‘Vegas High’ all deserved some sort of push.
