Wow, great sales for Charli! She’s always felt like a fanbase act, with a few exceptions. Interestingly she’s never had a certified album and she’s 6 albums in, so it’s amazing she’s managed to stay signed to a record label. Surely Brat will be her first to pass 60K.
  2. Very strange era for Dua, I don’t think she has any hits left on the album and the era isn’t connecting in general, I’m sure they will be hoping for Glasto to save the era, but I’m not sure. She got 3 top 10’s and a #1 album though, so it may be a flop era (for her) but it’s a flop era most artists would dream of!
  3. Disaster all round for Olly. It’s a Sin (the show) was easily the biggest thing he has done in years, so I think acting is where his future lies. The music has got worse with every album release unfortunately.
  4. Wow, so many big hitters this year on the singles
  5. God. If Joel Corey and Bebe Rexha features are all we have to look forward to… Love you Kylie, but that pair are bottom of the barrel.
  6. Levii Jeans, Bodyguard, Ya Ya and Tyrant all scream hits to me.
  7. Nothing from the GUTS era (apart from Vampire) seemed to stick, so I’m amazed she got 4 top 10’s from the era.

Music Video views on YouTube have nose dived since 2020, for example the Ariana Grande ‘thank you, next’ video got 55.4 million views in 24 hours in 2019, Ariana’s latest lead single ‘yes, and’ has 55 million views after 2 months. The drop off in views does seem to coincide with the launch of TikTok. However, if you look at Ariana’s latest single ‘we can’t be friends’ it’s the music video that made the song go viral and propelled it after a luke warm debut on Spotify. So music videos do still have impact. It’s easier for more established artists who have a fanbase that will always watch the videos. It’s clear music video budgets have been cut (just look at Dua’s latest videos as an example of this). I think in a few years it will become common that only a lead single will get a music video and the rest will be on a case by case basis.

  10. I actually think this is Justin's best work since Future Sex/Love Sounds, but it's too little too late I think, he's been releasing sub-par music for over 10 years now.
  11. Fingers crossed for 'Popular' I'm just not sure if it will have made it top 10 in the end, I think it will be the dreaded 11 again. I get it's not really Madonna's song, but I'm surprised her fanbase have not rallied, if it was Kylie all versions would be in the top 40, but Popular is no where to be seen on iTunes.

SOS is surely meant to be Platinum?
  13. At least Aphrodite got Kylie’s best tour
  14. 35 albums in the top 100 (update) this week are Greatest Hits
  15. At the end of the day, nothing from DISCO will be remembered in 10 years, Padam is a mega hit and has raised Kylie’s profile to the highest it’s been in years. The numbers aren’t the best, but this era will stand the test of time.
  16. Padam re-enters on Spotify at #40. NYE party hit confirmed!
  17. In Scotland we aren't getting the repeat on Boxing Day, it's showing on New Year's Eve instead at 10pm
  18. Hopefully BMG will learn from their mistakes this era (there’s been a lot) In general, I do wish Kylie would go back to a major label.
  19. #75 is what the album deserves for these half baked extended versions, awful artwork and a cheap cash in. Glad the superior Tension is safely top 40.
  20. I’m not impressed by any of extended mixes really, Padam and Hold On To Now are by far the best, but it’s a low bar.
  21. My HOTN CD single and cassette have arrived along with the 3 7” vinyl’s. I even got my first Tension album cassette. So I’ve done my bit this week
  22. It does look alright, but I just can’t get past the fact they’ve made her green  I’m not going to reward mediocrity by buying this! Kylie really needs a new creative team.
  23. Weirdly, Hold On To Now (Trance Wax) is #56 on Amazon Music (Unlimited)
  24. I’ve got everything arriving on the 8th December. Im guessing it will be the same for the majority. Is HOTN even playlisted on Radio 2 yet?
  25. I’m not going to the Vegas show, but if I was I’d be pissed at the recycling of mixes. This should be a completely new show for the astronomical ticket prices.
