  1. What a classic! Can’t believe it’s still not been certified in the UK though, surely must be close at this point.
  2. Yeah the Extension cover is awful! And is the first item I’ve not instantly pre-ordered this era. I’ll probably end up buying on release week though
  3. True, negative opinions shouldn’t be policed. However, when it’s the same negative opinion every week, it’s then trolling.
  4. Great result for the album in the UK and a great album by Troye. I think he’s also showing that a music video can still be effective promotion in 2023, all 3 videos have created buzz online.
  5. Most likely OUT next week, I predicted 5 weeks top 100 but it’s looking like 4. It’s hurts as it’s a great album, but that’s just the way the market is right now. When it falls out next week hopefully BMG kick into action.
  6. Padam has been removed from Hot Hits UK after 147 days, end of an era! Wonder if we will ever see a Kylie song on there again
  7. BREAKTHETENSION posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
I liked Cruel Summer better when it was an underrated gem, it’s beyond overplayed at this point, along with Shake It Off and Anti-Hero! Please NO reset!
  8. This is the same conversation going round and round, yes it’s sold less than DISCO, yes the chart run is disappointing. But as has been said 100 times, the market is down, physical sales are dead and almost every album (outside of Taylor) is experiencing a shorter chart run. Please release another single so we can move away from this boring conversation.
  9. Can we just appreciate how far Kylie has come on streaming this era, these are the Apple Music peaks for Tension vs DISCO era.
  10. Tension has done its bit, a top 20 peak and 6 weeks in the top 100 is great for a Kylie single in 2023. At this point, I’m not bothered about remixes. New single ready to go in November please!
  11. We’re acting like DISCO and Golden were million sellers, 180,000 copies is not unachievable. It just takes A LOT longer to get there now. As Carol says, let’s see where we are in two years. I also believe Tension will have higher trickle sales than DISCO and Golden. It’s week 3 of the album being out, let’s just enjoy that and see what BMG & Kylie have planned. There is a lot to celebrate with the Tension era.
  12. Considering sales are SO low these days, surely a prime time show dedicated to Kylie would provide a re-entry into the top 10. Hopefully they have a new vinyl and single to launch around the time of the show, which would help.
  13. Phew, wasn't sure if it would make a second week top 10. In hindsight, I really think BMG made a BIG mistake not releasing the album in the summer on the back of Padam. The 6 month wait for the album was ridiculous. I know BMG want the #1 and the headlines, but if they had released the album 2 or 3 weeks after Padam and then staggered the vinyl releases, I think we would've had better longevity. The album also feels like a summer album to me. BMG shouldn't be so focussed on that week 1 debut and instead should be looking at how to keep the album charting in the current market. It's all well and good to say we got #1, but it's not as pretty when the album has left the chart after 5 weeks (which is pretty much what I think is ahead).
  14. Considering the lack of support from Spotify, Tension has actually done pretty well.
  15. Both Kylie and BMG want to make money from this project. As we already know, people don’t buy albums anymore and streaming doesn’t generate huge profit for an artist like Kylie. So it’s not surprising they want to make money from the little sales they will get. It’s a business at the end of the day. Why should she discount her work on week 2 to get 56 more sales.
  16. I went and bought a record player, speakers and of course Tension today. Thought it was time to join the vinyl hype and wow it sounds amazing. Even One More Time is hitting different
  17. I’m disappointed by the sales, but c’mon - almost 4K streaming sales is amazing for an artist that debuted in the 80’s, Kylie is in her own league.
  18. Yeah, they have given Tension a month of pretty good support. It really was the only thing propping Tension up on streaming, so I do expect a free fall next week.
  19. Tension has been moved way down on Apple Music ‘Today’s Hits’, so I will be surprised if we get a 5th week top 100, without anything else.
  20. Gonna need quite a push to make 60K. Great sales though and who knows what BMG have planned for the next few days ahead. Can’t really fault them this era. I would’ve liked Tension and Padam vinyl’s out this week to get them both top 40. We’ve had so much this era, but we always want more
  21. https://music.kylie.com/product/122639 New download only version of the album with 2 NEW SONGS!
  22. These are fantastic sales. I had hoped for 70K for Tension, but it’s looking like Tension will do more than DISCO first week, which is great considering the market has collapsed further since 2020. Casual sales really are a thing of the past though, these sales are probably 98% fanbase driven.
  23. 3rd single: Hold On To Now (Nov/Dec 23) 4th single: Hands (remix with a feature. February 24) 5th single: Things We Do for Love (Radio 2 promo single. May 24) However, we all know it’s an uphill struggle for post-album singles to gain any traction these days. Kylie clearly loves Hold On to Now, so I would expect we will get a full release and a decent video, but I’m not expecting much else now the album is out.
