ATTENTION ALL POSTERS..... please read.
Yes I do teach. I teach children to think, to not take the world at face value, to question and form their own opinions. Just because one person says something is so / happened doesn't make it right / true. (I was using moon landings as an example, not wishing to open that argument) again I am wrong? Yes I have been insulted and ridiculed in the past, I am far from over sensitive, please do not patronise me. My religion and beliefs have come in for many, aggressive insults. Whilst I do not wear my beliefs on my sleeve, I also do not insult those of any faiths - muslim / Jewish / Catholic / etc........ I strongly believe everyone has the right to an opinion - no matter how unpalatable they may be to others. I also believe that it is wrong to force those opinions on others. I don't doubt it for a minute. And I, like many other posters, will continue to avoid posting here, for all the wrong reasons.

'Where the Wild Things Are' 16.10.09
I love this book, and read it regularly to my class of 4 year olds. Maurice Sendak wrote this book 46 years ago and it has been well loved book, don't see how a film could take away from that. ......but fail to see how Max's mischief can be stretched into a film, and still get him back before his supper gets cold!

ATTENTION ALL POSTERS..... please read.
I am sorry (and a little alarmed to be erring towards Chris on this) but I have had my opinions belittled / insulted and ridiculed aggressively on this board so many times I rarely feel the need to post - although I do still read here. Whilst I agree with the need to back up statements, I don't appreciate the agrresive foul language tirades that can follow a statement that does not fit with Mushy or Grimly ideas of the world. Take for example the Moon landings? Unless you actually went there you can't know they really happened, and whilst I like to believe they did happen I respect the entitlement of others to believe they didn't ........ I wont even get started on religion. Craig and I agree with very little on religion, but I would no sooner belittle or insult his beliefs than he would mine. Grimley's lastest tirade against religion I find offensive. But like I have said, I don't post here so much and it is 90% because I am tired of being sworn at and ridiculed. (oh and just a little tired of Maragret Thatcher being blamed for everything since the Boer war!!!) and by the way - you are not in the pub bantering with your mates, you are on a discussion forum with an average age WAY below yours and mine. Maybe you should consider you role as mods in that light not that of your pub based standards.

The Running Thread
I 'wobbled' between 3 and 4 miles but then a nice fireman hosed me down and I was revived. Have to confess to singing on way through the Boost Zone - they should have had more of those!!! The long run through the estate between 11 & 12 miles is a killer I was nearer the front of the green zone - naughtily climbed the fence as was almost late :naughty: I crossed the line just as the red arrows were drawing a heart in the sky  How did shins cope? Not set off splints again? What are you running next? I am doing a 9 mile trail run at Conniston in a few weeks ....... am thinking not my best idea!

This Monday announcement thing - and the 120 page thread that accompanied it ........ hmmmmm Can see management sat back killing themselves laughing! Is a little uncomfortable in there - will read but am avoiding posting.

At just 11, is Brogan the most SPOILT child in Britain?
lord help them all when the money runs short and teenage hormones kick in!! I have to say I am amazed if her school allows the fake nails, make up etc Any 11 year old turning up at our school would not be allowed, I have in the past escorted a mother and her 6 years old daughter to the bathroom to wash her face! Children with false nails have been sent home to have them removed! I asked my friend (who owns a Beauty and Nail parlour) if she would spray tan and false nail an 11 year old and she said no and she has refused quite a few in the last year. She was not surprised at mothers spray tanning their daughters!! She even had to insist a mother removed a 10 year old having a strop at being told she couldn't have false nails. The mother couldn't do it. Looks like her mother is trying to live through her daughter. Just like all those fat American beauty pagent mothers.

Samantha Orobator returned to UK
hmmmm so as you or I have not been present or privy to all documentation/ investigations or been witnesses to any of the events for all the threads on this board we will not be commenting on them? Because anything we discuss in here is hearsay isn't it? We don't actually know the facts on any national / global events do we? I prefer the word opinion. I am entitled to my opinion on this and many other matters. I am also, I feel, entitled to an opinion, if not an actual say, on what my taxes are spent on.

Samantha Orobator returned to UK
SHE has said how she got pregnant, SHE told her mother she got pregnant on purpose with the help of another prisoner. Trial date irrelevant - good old British press wheels crank into motion once "pregnant" mentioned, as if the ability to get pregnant makes her innocent and helpless. and yes I would do anything to avoid the firing squad - namely NOT taking drugs into any country, never mind one that very publically has the death penatly for drug smugglers. "under duress" well you would say that - but she still made the choice to knowingly take drugs in her bag into that counrty. Why do the British think they don't have to take responsibilty, and bleat when the government don't come running to save them? and yes Tyron - at the risk of making you further sick and myself sound like a very grumpy old cow - I do look at the "cost to the taxpayer" and maybe when you have actually paid a bit of tax, seen each month a third of your wages disappear, and know that it is being used to fund the, maybe not luxurious, lives of such people. Of being expected to celebrate the return of a drug smuggler so we can spend many hundreds of thousands of pounds on supporting her and the bast*rd child she is carrying. The lofty ideals of youth fade quickly in the reality of life.

Samantha Orobator returned to UK
A PREGNANT woman jailed for drug trafficking in Laos described her ordeal as an “unimaginable nightmare” on her return to the UK today. Samantha Orobator, who escaped the death penalty because she is pregnant, said in a statement: “I am enormously relieved and happy to be back on British soil. "It has been an unimaginable nightmare. “I would like to thank all those who were involved in my return, including various British Government officials, for their efforts on my behalf, and for their support. “Meanwhile, I would be grateful for a little peace as this has been a very traumatic experience both for me, and for my unborn child.” The 20-year-old was given permission to serve the rest of her prison sentence in the UK and returned home today in time to give birth to her child, which is due next month. Am I the only person repulsed by the sight of this grinning woman being returned to British soil yesterday, to languish at British taxpayers expense? This is a drugs trafficker, a fact even her mother could not deny when interviewed. She intentionally impregnated herself, in prison, with help from another prison inmate to avoid the death penalty she had received. And now we are supposed to be happy that she is back, for a "life sentence" which means little here, in a mother and baby unit at Holloway, at our, no doubt, vast expense. If we argue for the hacker to be prosecuted under our laws - then surely she should be prosecuted under the laws of the country she committed the offence in??

New legal blow for hacker fighting extradition to US
Whilst Aspergers is a form of Autism - it is does not make the person "mentally challenged" or in need of "medical supervision" or "hospitalisation" Aspergers is also NOT a barrier from holding down a job! I think the US should be looking at using his skills to advance their security, rather than make big bully boy noises about "examples" I also think I government should acknowledge that any crimes committed were committed in this country, and so should be investigated, prosecuted and punished in this country.
