If you were to bring back TOTP how would you change it. I would -: - Have a mixture of pop/guitar/dance - Have good presenters - eg. (Jo Whiley, Zane Lowe, Lauren Laverne and Simon Amstell) or maybe have guest presenters - Have it shown on a Monday and Tuesday so it is up to date - Not have it anything like the 03-06 incarnation - Have either the 95-97 logo or 97-02 logo they were good AND MOST IMPORTANTLY NOT HAVE FEARNE OR BLOODY REGGIE YATES
  2. why they have had their most sucsessful year this year and have been critically acclamed more than the last album
  3. Yep you have to download the whole Shrek soundtrack to get it
  4. I agree this is a bit rubbish but it is the original so if it wasn't for this their would have been no X Factor song this year
  5. WHAT Warwick Avenue was a hit and that's Duffy's second single. I think you mean third (Stepping Stone)
  6. I could also see Jeff Buckley's Greatest Hits going to number one in the albums in January the week before Franz Ferdinand
  7. Hopefully Green Day get a number one with their comeback. Then that'll make up for them being beat to number one by bleedin' Westlife in 06

Some time this morning (Friday) The Circus by Take That sold its millionth copy in the UK, and became the all-time second fastest album to reach a seven-figure sale. The album was released just 19 days ago. The only album to reach a million more rapidly is fellow Mancunians Oasis’ 1997 album Be Here Now, which reached the target in 11 days. The Circus has sold 991,508 copies up to close of business yesterday (Thursday) and has already been certified quintuple platinum, with Universal shipments exceeding 1.5m copies. Initially available for as little as £5.88 physically (Asda) and £3 as a download (Amazon), The Circus is now hard to find for less than £8 in any format but continues to sell at a very rapid clip. Remarkably for an album to sell so many copies in such a short time, it wasn’t available in the stricken Woolworths chain until this week. The retailer may be winding down but now has plentiful stocks of the album priced at £10.97 – though a blanket 10% reduction on audio products means the till price is £9.87. Four other albums have sold a million copies in less than a month: in third place is Take That’s last album, 2006’s Beautiful World (27 days), Robson & Jerome’s self-titled 1995 debut and The Beatles’ 2000 compilation 1, both took 28 days, and Leona Lewis’ Spirit became a million seller after 29 days last year. Beautiful World is by far Take That’s biggest seller, with to date sales of more than 2.5m. It will overtake former member Robbie Williams’ biggest-selling solo album, I’ve Been Expecting You, within weeks. Take That’s return to prominence after more than a decade apart has been an unqualified success, and in addition to selling more than 3.5m copies of their two new albums since reconvening, they have sold nearly 1.7m copies of their compilation Never Forget – The Ultimate Collection. With catalogue sales of their earlier three studio albums and a compilation, Take That have sold more than 5.5m albums so far this decade. The Circus is the third or fourth album to sell a million copies this year, following Duffy’s Rockferry and Coldplay’s Viva La Vida. It crossed the barrier almost simultaneous with The Kings Of Leon’s Only By The Night, which had sold 995,147 copies by close of business last night. Meanwhile, fifth season X Factor champion Alexandra Burke’s cover of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah is on target to secure the highest weekly sale by a single for exactly two years. Available since Sunday as a download, it secured its first trickle of physical sales on Tuesday, and has already sold 382,296 copies. The last single to sell more copies in a week was third season X Factor champion Leona Lewis’s debut single Bleeding Love, which dashed to first week sales of 571,253 in 2006. Lewis’ latest single, Run, has been number one for the last two weeks but has now slipped behind Burke’s single and the late Jeff Buckley’s 1994 recording of Hallelujah. Run has sold 54,408 copies so far this week, Buckley’s Hallelujah 59,676. Buckley’s version first surfaced in the Top 75 here in March, following ITV2’s screening of a cover by American Idol contestant Jason Castro, in the style of Buckley. It returned to the chart a few weeks ago, after being performed in The X Factor by Diana Vickers, who finished fourth in the contest. Assuming Run doesn’t wrestle its way back to number two before the end of the week, Hallelujah will become the first song ever to hold down the number one and two slots in the chart simultaneously. Kanye West is another one. Big lead single but on the album front had flopped as it only went to number 11 and bar The Collage Dropout which went platinum anyway all the others have gone top 2 with at least two big singles. The Collage Dropout (Jesus Walks), ( Late Registration (Diamonds, Gold-Digger), Graduation (Stronger, Homecoming)

The View haven't even released their new album yet. It comes out in January just one single flopped. Although I agree they won't be as big as the last time around

What acts do you think have flopped or haven't done as well as they should have done this year. Hear are my top 5 Madonna - Yes she had a massive number one and got to number one on the album chart but the album didn't sell as well as it was expected to and Miles Away completley flopped and runied her chart record Kaiser Chiefs - Yes they had a top 5 song but it dropped very quickly and their album hasn't sold nearly as well as their last two. Guns N Roses - 14 years of waiting 14 years of hype and the album didn't live up to expectations and didn't sell as well as it should have The Feeling - Their last album sold loads the new album dropped quickly from number one and their singles have flopped massivley Razorlight - Another act that has felt the force of a massive album and the follow up hasn't sold nearly as well and everyone expected Wire to Wire to be big after is started climbing up the i-Tunes chart very quickly but then it didn't make the top 3

Why would Oasis spilt they've been through far worst sales periods than this and have been a lot worse musically before. It's like saying Girls Aloud will spilt next year no reasoing behind it. Sorry for that rant

Paddy Power have put odds of some bands to spilt next years. So here are the odds Girls Aloud - 2-1 McFly - 9-4 Sugababes - 7-2 Westlife - 6-1 Boyzone - 8-1 Take That - 14-1 U2 - 25-1 Oasis - 33-1 personally I think that McFly and Sugababes will split
  17. Kylie, Robyn and Sam Sparro aren't English

  19. Yep The Killer have a christmas song it's a duet with Elton John called "Joseph Better You Than Me". I think it could be top 20 at least
  20. tom03 posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Everyone knows that albums that have been out for ages go on offer at xmas and get to number one in the new year. What do you think will do it this year. Personally I think Guns N Roses may do it as well as Dido and maybe Stereophonics

Do you know the sales for Mamma Mia - Cast Recording it's been in the charts for ages
  22. Hopefully Chris Rea, The Waitresses and Elton John out of the ones that didn't really make an impact last year. Also the Manic Street Preachers version of Last Christmas that was recorded on TFI Friday should chart. It's on iTunes. Oh and Miss Piggy's version of Santa Baby it is really amazing

I have a feeling the Stereophonics Best Of will do pretty good as well it seems to be in the top 5 for most of them
