The only reason why Eminem, deservedly, gets top 10 hits is on name alone. He is now essentially in the Oasis, U2 stage of his career that whatever he releases will go top 10/20 and will have a number one album that goes platinum but doesn't make all that difference to his career or the world of music.

My point exactly. I would be ecstatic if acts like Drake, Lil Wayne and Nas & Damien Marley could get the positions Roll Deep and N-Dubz got but sadly they don't. However, Nothin' On You is one of the best number ones of the year.

The main problem is total domination of one genre. As one poster said earlier in 06/07 we had total landfill indie and that ruined indie's chances of chart hits for a couple of years and eventually urban will do the same. Saying a total genre in $hite it wrong yes some urban in the charts is totally godawful, here's looking at you Roll Deep, but look further down the charts and one of the best songs of the year so far is there, Nas and Damien 'Jr Gong' Marley, and that's urban, well urban and regge.
  16. This will be most likely number one. And if this does get to number one will Snoop have had one of the longest waits for a number one?.

Which songs of the last decade will be regarded as classics in years to come. I mean classics in the vein of songs such as 'Livin' on a Prayer', 'Sweet Child O Mine', 'Like a Prayer', etc. Sorry bad examples. Anyways these are just some of the ones I think will be regarded in the same way. Kings of Leon - Sex on Fire The Killers - Mr. Brightside Rihanna - Umbrella Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling Lady GaGa - Poker Face & Bad Romance Kylie - Can't Get You Out of My Head Arctic Monkeys - I Bet You Look Good On the Dancefloor, I can't think of any more at the moment but feel free to add your own. If this is in the wrong place can you move it. Thank you. Sorry if it is

A bit off topic but looking at the sales for Elton's Candle in the Wind 1997, they are 4,860,000 do you think that he maybe has passed 5 million since then. Just out of curiosity.
