What a year for GaGa! She sets a new record this year for the most weeks EVER on the singles chart in a calendar year. Rihanna came close to this last year thanks to her Re-reloading of her album and the older singles still hanging around, but only managed 129 weeks, 5 short of the 134 record until now held by Oasis, following a series of physical re-releases of old singles in their 90s heyday. GaGa has managed a WHOPPING 150 WEEKS this year, and has been helped by a deluxe re-release herself, a smattering of album cherrypicks, and a guest starring role. Still charting 3 singles at the moment and with another on the way 2010 should also continue to be a bumper year for her. Thurs musicweek report says RATM sales are all downloads for the single. So there's not a single new physical counted yet. Sure some second hand will have just picked up in value though!

Albums look really off compared to our 1st mids. Nice u have gaga at no1 though as already mentioned the dvd Is the big seller intriguingly for pk. Thanks Dave!

Roughly it was 110k last week of which 10k was d/l, 20k cd, and 80k(!) DVD. So its def the DVD that's swinging it. Where is PK on iTunes? No-ones noting it in the updates which would obviously be useful! Saw the video today. The song medley is quite catchy and the video is definitely charming to a wide audience. Gaga has her work cut out but she needs to extend her lead, and not tail off as we get further from her XF performance. Sure it'll have boosted the album a fair bit too :) indeed, seconded!

Whats the drive for Peter Kay other than the annoying fact that anything he touches turns to gold? I know its for charity so we're not allowed to complain but the CiN single isnt really a big deal anymore, and it was weeks ago so i don't understand why its still selling! Also its really interesting that although the sales are mainly physical, the DVD is outselling the CD 4:1! Great for gaga to have achieved no1 already, it is early in the day still after all and hopefully she'll extend her lead throughout the week and not tail off. Its already done so well, and the fame monster should continue to increase in the run up to Xmas :)

Yep oasis held the record with 134, it was in the back of an old guinness hit singles. They also managed 130ish concurrently. Gaga is sure to beat this year if not already thanks to the masses of cherrypicks this week and bringing bad romance forward. She should be so proud! Beyonce has had a huge year and mj just by sheer number of songs but not close to gaga in terms of weeks this calender year

I don't think sibhans sound was electro or boots-like, its all timeless and epic so probably not much different. The thing is though, siobhans album could have had a chance if they'd released the more conventional but stunning tracks like coming up for air, as singles. She could have totally kidnapped the natalie imbruglia type fanbase with that. Mutya probably less successful. People wouldn't remember her even from the babes any more and the whole soul angle is dying off again Can't wait to see what they do next though. Give these girls a solo album then 1.0 please!

Hey dave in the games chart what is house of the dead 2? Surely not the sega original as its ancient and was already released last year in a package with 3 on the wii. Is it out on another console or is this part 2 of the new one they did? Also is new super mario brothers wii edition rather than the ds one? Its been out ages but still sells really well wasn't sure if they are combined. Thanks forany info. :-) Has boots been getting any airplay?
