Out of the airplay top100 and video top40. thats it then, doubt it'll re-enter. AYN re-enters at 95 though. If one of the mods wants to edit the topic title i'll post all airplay updates here from now on :)
  2. Def over 40k at last update, it may finish closer to 50k but we'll prob never find out. Even year end chart probably won't have it as its 2009 sales will be lower still  Maybe MW will give figures for it when next single arrives. Dropped to 158 this week

Obviously C&S continued to do the opposite of what you expect and landed at 83 this week  They have no other albums top200 currently for anyone who's interested

No Can Do dropped 93-158 this week OUCH! Any sales estimates or do we know a minimum from the sales of any singles below it? Girls drops 177-199, they could both be out next week at this rate (they have no other songs top200 presently) :arrr:
  5. Weird highness for See the Day, but i can't believe how low some of their leads are (SNNN! at 30!). CTS so deserved to be no1 on the sales chart, it totally was a breakthrough hit for them and TU is an amazing album. So glad they've been able to capitalise on it since, so rare for any band never mind a pop one to have their peak 6 years after starting, and to have had consistent output along the way to boot
  6. It so is! They are both great, i always feel SNNN! underperformed :( Love to know where the figures are from too are they are so regular and seem very exact which is very difficult to get for any artist, let alone regular updates. Thanks for posting, really interesting :)
  7. Won't there be another album by the time XF is back though? Agree OOC will see a price cut but not for a bit yet i'd think :)
  8. Fix me up is quite weak, and is so not CSF part 2! CSF is good! Love is the Key is the best choice, catchy likeable, and has the smart lyrics they are known for. Some of the others sound great but are lyrically repetitive/poor (e.g. turn to stone or love is pain). Miss you bow wow would be quite off the wall and is good, but i'd like untouchable to stay as the 6minute epic it is, rather than a single cut which detracts from the song :)

that would be a mahoosive amazing sale! Just imagine using all these post credit crunch empty units to open EUK bargain stores! I'd love that! :w00t:

yeah, singles are much cheaper again. Usually 99p for the one or two track (often just a remix) or £1.99. Once they've been out a while or occasionally they're £2.99 but the only £3.99 i see now is Syco/charity records. What bugs me is that less and less effort seems to go into them now. So many are just 2-tracks now, and its usually a remix rather than a B-side which is generally less value far as i'm concerned. Also the gap between digital and physical release dates is ever widening. (As an example, Britney's Womanizer: I was expecting a B-side from one of the handful of tracks she didn't put on the main album, but after waiting 3 weeks from the digital release date all i get for my £1.99 is an instrumental version of Womanizer- great for Kareoke but nowt else!) I'll still opt for the shop-bought physical whenever i can, and i think download is good when they do things like remix EPs which give you maybe 6 or 7 remixes that may be too long to meet the eligibility criteria of a CD single anyway, so as a fan you can get loads of remixes if you want but you can get B-sides on the CDS. B-sides traditionally are there to sway you to buy the album (or give those who own it the incentive to bother with the single) but since so many bands don't bother and people can just cherrypick the album tracks they like anyway now it kind of reduces their usefullness meaning sadly we are getting less of them as fans. I like what Girls Aloud have done, in that although they were forced to ditch a CD2 by a record company decision, they do a limited run vinyl on their website instead which big fans can pick up, and though i doubt the average GA fan has the ability to play vinyl they make them picture disc and quite inexpensive so i think lots of fans will view then as collectibles. Also, hats off to lily Allen with two B-sides on her latest single :) I think CDS will tail off to around 2% of market as Vidcapper says, and i hope they stay around for established acts who still get a significant boost from them on opening week, like vinyl has with its resurgence in the last 10 years. I also believe specialist retailers such as HMV should continue to give them a proportionate amount of space in store (ie. no less than they already do)
  11. Don't know if i can agree (Jump was better imho) and also Jump only made no2! Would that revise your prediction for this Tom? :P (also it was in Love, Actually?)

Agree Jark. I think the public is getting a break from them right now in effect. But if they wait 2-3 years they'll just cease to be relevant. I don't think the Sugababes (or almost any band normally) is so ubiquitous that the public actually "need a break" from them. I mean, the press has already stopped chattering about them so much, has anyone else noticed? GA are still getting a lot of coverage, and in an article about one of the two bands the other is inevitably mentioned, but thats not even been happening recently. GA are being asked about the Saturdays being their biggest rivals as their profile continues to rise, and the babes aren't even mentioned any more. There is serious consumer/media/critical apathy towards the babes. I know they are accused every era of having lost "their edge", that separated them from other girl bands and make them cooler, but i do think that is something they need to get back with this new album. It sounds like they're going about it the right way to me, but they have already passed the shelf life of any normal pop (particularly female) group, so hopefully they're not just flogging a dead horse. I mean, i'd buy the album release week supposing they were reciting Haikus as their new sound, but just how many of the general public or even fans can say the same? (It seems a number of fans were put off C&S by Girls and then just refused to buy it as it was flopping; self-fulfilling prophecy isn't it )
  13. Noticed GA sales update in their forum (don't know where from/how accurate but they look about right), they seem to be able to get almost weekly sales updates (even if only 1 or 2 oldies rarely rise 1k each week). Is anyone able to rustle up some accurate sales updates for Sugababes? Some of those singles figures are years old, with download cherrypicking those tracks must have went up (we couldn't account for something like 150k of single sales last year from the change or catfights era for example). We know their singles sales are well over 3.1million at least from the musicweek total last year, so there's definitely a big rise in some of them. Wish MW would do a definitive list but not likely is it :(
  14. For the Nth time on multiple threads, albums are only ineligible to chart on the main chart (and therefore usually chart on the budget chart instead) if their Dealer Price is below a certain level (the price the retailer buys the album for, NOTHING to do with the price they sell it for which could be at a loss even). They are probably clearing old XS stock, i think most retailers bought lots of copies of catfights as a Sugababes album with a Q4 release being successful is supposed to be a given by now  As Catfights is main chart this week, it is not "Budget", no matter how cheap Amazon/HMV sell it :) See Official Charts Company website for more details if desired
  15. Two of the worst on there imho
  16. I never thought of that! You could be right! With everyone doing that now and their upturn in popularity it'd probably be worth it, though that could mean no time for studio album 6 in November which wouldn't be like them...
  17. Out top100 this week. Not iTunes top100 either currently (around 63 on pop, and think around 40/100 of the main list are pop, so they're not close to it either if that makes sense). Post exact position when i know. Any sales updates?

Fell to no83 this week
  19. Jark and i were saying something similar a while ago :) think you're right, but C&S may remain a fan favourite the same way. Although IP was one of her most successful ever in Oz at least wasn't it?
  20. I think MCR could miss top40, but will probably hit top75. Innerpartysystem did a rubbish hot n cold remix on the CDS, thats about all i know of them! Nice commentary, easy to read as always!
  21. Its cheesy, and not very good! But it'll probably bore into my skull in the way cheese does. Its for charity though, so i expect in the increasingly bouyant singles market it will outdo Suga/GA 1st week sales for Walk this Way (even though it was better, though not saying much). However, charity records are traditionally heavy physical sellers and there's not so many outlets for CD singles now, so that could dampen things a bit. In terms of position if they're against Take That it's gonna get ugly and they may need to settle for #2.
  22. and 129weeks on the singles chart in 2008 unsurprisingly nets you over 1mil sales (all from one album basically and she sold a shed load of those too!)
  23. where are these figs originally from? Do we know they're accurate? Wish we had a full update on all singles and albums by the babes up to this week! TU selling well!
  24. I forgot about Klaus Girls! didn't download it for ages but its prob better than the album version :) and keeping 3 for our summer sugadrought!
  25. it did. basically on release( as over 100k shipped to retail), but dunno thats its over 100k to consumer though will be close now. new album may help it but not phenomenally
