No tour, no more singles this era, and they're already back working on the new one so they have much more time even with a release this year than the two months catfights had
  2. Agreed Jark. Some albums go to £4-5 and re-enter the top 20; Catfights barely rescraped the top75 and had a single out a month ago ffs. Bewildered about the no top75 this week there is some rumbling on chart chat its went budget but people seem to think every album goes that way now just coz GA did, not usually many studio albums in the budget chart even when they are cheap in shops. Was in HMV today and didn't see Catfights anywhere, maybe some had sold out during the week and i doubt they'll be desperate to ship more

GTBG would've been a great single! Every time i see the Deichman add i think it's a travesty they didn't release it (especially since the last time i saw the ad Girls was the current single). Superior to Easy and not so trashy imho (although Easy ain't bad) C&S hasn't ended top 75 despite being top60 in tues midweeks :( will post more when i know
  4. I more expected this is Nov tbh.. Christina can def do electro well, and show the new pretenders a thing or two! And Linda Perry producing? It'll rock( or or shock? crackle?). I don't think it'll be as massive as it perhaps deserves but i think people are going to find that with female electro in general... I think the GH (new tracks/mixes) was more of a warm-up to ease us into her new sound, the campaign seemed half assed really i don't think they were spending a lot of money on promotion so it probably doesn't need to make a lot. The new tracks/versions sounded a bit early demo, like the kind of tracks which further along the line wouldn't have made the cut for a new studio album, but give you an idea where she's headed. Quite enjoyed them, and sure she'll bring the quality come Summer :)

  6. What a non-single. I wouldn't even class it as that. Did it get a single version to download? Were there any remixes/B-sides, a video, was the track given to radio, and did it even chart for that matter?!
  7. Split rumours are the mark of success, its all good :) Btw, i was looking at the sales thread, adding up GA single sales i get between 3.1-3.2mil, not the 3.0 listed (maybe rounding down to be conservative). The babes total just now is approx 3.1-3.2mil too, so they must be neck and neck. Granted, we haven't had updates on a number of the songs of both bands in years so in reality there could be a fair bit in it, but interesting that GA will almost definitely be ahead in a couple of months as Sugababes aren't doing any more singles off the current album, and GA still have two charting plus a possible 3rd/4th etc. In overall record (single+album) sales though i still don't think GA can catch the Sugas for the "Millennium" title, OOC is burning out and they are still several hundred thousand behind (although TU and TSOGA are selling well with the budget price tag but its hard to say how much as we don't get sales figure for the budget chart positions). Thoughts/Feelings?
  8. it so should have been the CDS B-side and the megamix on 7". I mean, "Girls on '45" would make more sense actually on '45! (and they must realise people would want a new song but that most GA fans won't be able to play vinyl  I do like Girls on '45 though, what about everyone else?
  9. nice. I'd have thought WWTNS? would actually be 2xplatinum by now but since they registered all the others this week they probably would've registered it if it had. Can't be far off though, that 584k figure is at least a year old though you really don't see the album anywhere (and GH so cheap) so maybe selling very little. Must hit is soon though! Glad they've bothered to register though, and the promise over 400k! :o
  10. AYN (and i can't believe thats not been mentioned in this thread), and Change in general again! (totally go through phases with all the albums, except 3 which i'm saving Phil )

NCD dropped 44-58 this week moves 25-32 on video (appears the naked men are helping to sustain more interest than the song alone :kink: )

And Overloaded heads back down to 171! Still steady selling though, its luckily managed to become one of those evergreen GHs (and even without AYN shock horror). (and C&S holds at 73 :))

Girls dropped 139 to 177 this week  still selling a bit then, but seems on the way out
  14. For a new peak! Yay! Got mine for £7 on release week- still happy with that :)

08 If This Is Love 09 Up (and 9/10 for the Wideboys remix edit too) 07 Keep Her 07 Issues 07 Lies 08 Work 08 Chasing Lights 05 Set Me Off 06 Fall 06 Vulnerable 05 Why Me Why Now How is the radio edit of Up different? I like the album version and hadn't noticed, other than the wideboys version which is a bit different but equally good :)

i think thats the whole point with our new digital age. Single sales were apparently at record levels last year, yet compared to the 90s, weekly sales for no1 were pitiful. I wonder if you add up the total sales for the top40/75 each week versus then when physical singles were at their peak, how it would compare. I suspect a fair bit lower now. However, with online digital there is no limitation e.g. by distribution/delivery availability, shop floor space, production etc. Every song ever recorded can be put online and downloaded to infinity, so with the sheer number available (e.g. something like 9million on iTunes) if even 1 copy of each is downloaded in a week, single sales will be so much higher than before, when even the large specialist shops could not have hoped to stock more than a catalogue of a few hundred physicals (despite singles being given a chart and an A-Z section nearly as large as albums). I.e sales outside the main top40/75 are far far larger than before, and that is what's making the sales difference (although its increasing across the board)
  19. Out of chart this week at 93. Sales should be over 40k by now though?
  20. I have the same fears. And i agree about Xeno. I like the babes because they're not afraid to mix it up and take chances but electro is very in right now and they do it very well with Xeno. Just a couple of songs even like Change (NGDA/MLIP) had. All their previous Xeno singles went top10 (as have all of GA's) Something new for the lead though please :)
  21. Just Europe wide :D Nice its been certified. Great list of the million selling girl groups too, thanks for that! Though Eternal and the Supremes are missing off it, not to mention The Bangles, The Go Go's etc most probably but not i just seem old :P

thank you kindly for all the hard work on sales! Helps if we can stay as up to date as possible :) Oh, and overloaded rebounded 176-151 last week, more to follow this week :)

Girls was 139 last week, down from 126. Does that help with sales? More to follow this week :) Shame NCD is bombing now, but radio has also lost interest quite quickly

Gaga will get over 500k no probs, quite possibly over 600k too, but not 1mil this year. Single sales are really picking up again vs. the last couple of years even, makes me wonder if the top40 sales could be at 90s style levels in a few years time again when downloads have really taken off completely. Then we could see no1s regularly sell 100k+ in a week. Combine that with the longevity d/ls have reintroduced to the chart and we could certainly be seeing a few more million sellers, but not yet :(
