  1. Eh, no! PCD sold 1.2million of their debut in UK which i'm pretty sure was after the last Spice album to sell 1mil! (GH didn't quite make it) Sure TSOGA will be passing the million this year though. Its megacheapness and the fact its everywhere should help it no problems. It'd be great to get updated total sales for both band's singles and albums i'm sure they are both a fair bit higher than the last figures given, though the babes still safely have it for now
  2. Still a fair bit of catching to do to be biggest "of the millenium" though. If Sugababes broke up tomorrow maybe, but if they get back on track with their next album might not happen soon (if at all). Also, can GA duplicate the success of OOC? Cheryl's doing X-Factor this year again isn't she? Conversely there seems to be a new split rumour every day at the moment for GA. Its all "Sheryl in America, Pregnant, Nadine on going solo etc...."

lol, i wondered from the abbreviations (SCO/WLS i think) if thats what that column was because it doesn't actually say on the newsletter (which would be helpful if you're reading this C+ admin). So its just physicals then? Will online purchases of physicals (e.g. mail order/websites) not count either then even when you stay in Scotland for e.g. (as it may not ship from there)? If so its basically the HMV singles chart now
  4. Away peaked at 122 on physical release. No-one seems to have mentioned that in any of the chart/single threads so in case no-one knew... :arrr:
  5. I'd like if the Sarah Connor version appears on the CD single (if we get one) as at least its something new for those who already have the GH. I got it on the strength of his back catalogue btw, not "Away" which is pretty weak :( Shame she hasn't done better over here, nice voice, sure if she was american she'd have been the next Mariah or something

god i know, i shouldn't have even said that and jinxed them even further

    that would be nice :)
  8. drops this week to 66. Quite surprised as it seemed to hold well on iTunes earlier in the week and the physical is still kicking around. Guess the other d/l sites which seemed to get it so high on release week are now selling next to nothing of it though. Could be its last week- 4 weeks top75! :( Hopefully we get sales later :)

Catfights, that is. I'm hoping we get another couple of weeks at least to get into double figures

not really dropped from 11 to 44 this week on airplay chart :arrr:

Huge fall this week: moves 11-44 on airplay and 17-25 on TV :( could be out top 50 next week
  12. I liked Sunday Rain as a single but EHB had a buzz around it and would be likely to have done better because of that perhaps
  13. doesn't explain the the BPI certification though- they're supoosed to audit sales before granting a sales award and it appears as 6xplatinum on their website (which only counts UK sales btw). May send them an email about this if i can be arsed. It could of course be that there are huge warehouse stocks of this still everywhere, its frequently in the sales still, but this seems far too many <_<

Oh, and Milestone: Sugababes have now spent a total of 250 weeks on the UK top 75 singles chart! Congrats girls :D

ditto It has sold crap compared to their former album, though still better and more weeks on that Sugababes latest :o (despite their greater relative single success)
  16. Everyone always forgets them, but they were deemed most successful Girlgroup ever in their day, but i think the Spices and All Saints completely blew their recognition out the water when they came along.... They had 15 Top40s, including 15 top 20s, 12 Top10s, 7 Top5s, 2 Top3s, and 1 No1. Best Selling Single was their No1, 601k (as end 2005), and their Debut Album shifted over 1 million copies (the first all-female act to achieve this) D'ya know what it is yet? ETERNAL! I hope some of you are old enough to remember

It made 111 on release week, and dropped from the top200 the following week, never returning so far. Erk, shame their last single was much better than Ruby so assume the album is good too and it hasn't met expectations :(
  18. Its Listed on BPI as 6x platinum but skips many of the awards in between (not uncommon though) It sold 519k in 2006 according to end of year list, and another 398k in 2007 for a total of 917k. Obviously it will have sold more in 2008 as cheap loads of places but it must be less than 90k as it isn't in the top 200 list for that year, so should still be under 1mil but eligible for 3xplatinum now. I've always thought that certificate was an error and was actually meant to be its 2xplatinum but someone cocked up. Noticed this months ago but had forgotten until your post, thanks for bringing it up and i hope that answers your question :D As for chart run, it spent 69 weeks on the top75 and stayed at its peak of two for a single week. I can't be assed to type it all but if you want to look follow this link http://acharts.us/album/14838 and click draw graph after ticking the UK top75 box which will show you its weekly positions to date

Overloaded fell 164-176 this week. No other top top200 albums (other than Catfights)

Girls falls 83-126 this week :( if anyone cares!
  21. Agreed. Glad NCD was not the complete disaster so many expected and pleasantly surprised it has returned the album to the top75 + price cuts but it's not as if it has got the album even back to top40 yet so i don't think it will change any minds and as Jark says assuming info is correct they will be in the US recording anyway. EHB is becoming the MLIP/NGDA of this era sadly...
  22. Cathy (+/- Dr Luke) would be the way to go for a lead. I know they like to be different every time but they need to get back on track. Also, some Xenomania would be nice again. Anything they produce for anyone seems to do well, and all previous Suga/Xeno singles have been top10! (Not to mention Never Gonna Dance Again/My Love is Pink being two of the most requested songs for singles last era). I really, liked some of their Klas Ahlund stuff, but they need to work that out commercially, e.g. like Robyn did. Also, since they are using "top US producers" is this the album they were going to make with Timbaland finally coming to Fruition? Love Calvin Harris too, he would give them a stonker of a tune. Dallas Austin good too, returning with TIMW served them really well so some more is good. In US terms, Kanye could be great fun as he's going all electro now Probably too many already but sure i'll think of more!
  23. totally. It was a no1 and all the songs off 3 made top10, yet Change era outsold it easily (but much less albums) Thanks for the figures col, some are higher/more updated than the ones we have but i find it unbelievable that Hole is still on 150k, 5 years of cherrypicks should have seen that rise a least a bit, and Overloaded has still been selling consistently suggesting there is interest in their back catalogue (plus their singles sales this year were 500k which means some of the oldies must've risen). Girls is a lead! and it was popular with non/casual fans i think! Didn't derserve AYN type success but i'm glad it's up there :) Ps i love your "Flopping Kind" banner!

Great! Thanks for the sales! Have they been added to the top singles list now? Fair bit better than last updates we had for them all :)
  25. thats so infuriating isn't it? Overloaded should not be losing sales (shame as GA are getting them all counted in HMV where their GH is £3! Not fair in the race for biggest girlband of the noughties )
