isn't simon more keen on cheryl now? he seemed to get close with Dannii last year but that may have been superceded. Her and Cheryl actually look quite similar sometimes at the mo, and Cheryl's music career is more successful so i could see them pushing Dannii out. I hope not though, i like her and she has said in the past she felt she'd found her niche with the show, so would be sad. Though may speed up a new album plz Dannii!

looks ok, will prob get and i like the cover but wtf is my X B-sides/demos etc album! some new songs would be nice! e.g. flower, king or queen, samurai, magnetic electric... all those ones. So what about new studio album- is she still supposed to be leaving Parlo or not?

I think lots of people do, but i think it's great they are trying something different rather than just taking the safe route I hope you're right! But their last few releases have received a less warm reception- weird after AYN did really well, and Change sold well last year, but not so well this year... i hope this can turn it around, since the video and listening to this track a few times in a row i really like it more. I think it sounds ideal for radio and the video is bound to get peoples attention- i just hope they actually notice the music and buy it! :lol:

will the rule changes be retrospective though? Both versions are still charting in their own right at the moment?

Totally agree, except the last bit- you're damned if you do, and damned if you don't as a fan. If you want the extra stuff you have to buy it! I know you can often d/l the tracks but i also don't see why people who'd rather buy physical than digital should be ripped off further. Even if they sold the extra stuff separately for those who bought the 1st album, then you could just add it on. I think, as the record companies have actively tried to discourage us buying physical singles, they are using tactics like this to try and shift us on with albums, as people have been more resistant with LPs. I mean, if you pirate the original version you'll pirate the new one so it's not really helping that is it? So if d/l means you only have to pay for the extra content, they will use this to say it's not their fault and you have the option to merely d/l the new bit, and since there are so many deluxes ppl will move quicker to just d/ling in the 1st place :arrr:

i don't think there's no way, but their albums don't usually re-enter the top10 with any single but top20 would be good. I see NCD going top10 with good airplay support etc as it is a good song, but not sure about competition that week. Top5/3/1 would be even better of course!

Its whether it doing badly will lead to them scrapping the project prematurely rather than throwing more money at a deluxe, or cause them to think it is required. Of course it may pick up over Xmas, and with the new single "no can do" next month. It's pretty good!

Kelly's wasn't so much Deluxe Ed as Cutshop Edition- she removed as many songs as she added, and just remixed a couple of the others. It would have been nicer to have left them all on, as there is space on the CD and i don't own (nor do you see) the old one. GA are doing the same. Deluxe DVD ed. just in time for Xmas of the album they released 2 weeks ago. Planned from outset but for a fan it's a long time to wait. Kinda pisses me off. Even the Dido album is getting a Deluxe release this week simultaneously. But it has 3 extra tracks or something. But at the point of release it feels to me that if you buy the standard you basically only get 80% of the album which is a rip off. I don't mind deluxes with videos, remixes, live tracks, B-sides or previous singles on but when it is new studio recordings the choice is basically buy half an album for normal price or pay an inflated one to hear the whole thing :angry:

That also seemed to work really well for Katie Perry- i remember the week she was #1 and Eric Pridz was #2, she was also the top selling physical with her 1CD and he had 3 physical formats :lol: Also, would fans of SCD who are "older" *ahem* be more inclined to buy a physical than download? It has got a bit of a SCD feel and they may like her from the show?

We had an OurPrice too! :lol: Game is now in that unit, with a few things in between. Computer games make more than music now though. My town will have 2 shops which sell CDs when woolies shuts, but has 4 dedicated games stores, as well as the 2 selling music which also do games :wacko: Shame they stopped doing singles or maybe we still would :) If they were going to shut in Jan 09, they could have kept singles on for the last 5 months ffs, what difference would it have made to 90mil! And since it was just a c**p cardboard stand, they haven't gained shelf space in removing them! :blink:

Loving the idea Tom, i'd buy mine! My town is pretty large (for Scotland anyway) but CD-wise we only really have Woolies, and WHSmith who's prices are awful and range is limited to one "Chart" wall display of about 40 albums. There's no A-Z and only 1 rack of sale/budget. Woolies isn't exactly cheap but its range and weekly deals are better. We have an Asda at the edge of the town centre so will pretty much be stuck using that now. They've just expanded the town centre so hopefully one of the new units will be an HMV or Zavvi though! Gutted, I love my trips to Woolies only decent music shop in town! Also, are they really the biggest music retailer? Is that due to no. of stores mainly coz sure HMV would be bigger? :blink:

Yeah, these days physicals=HMV! :lol: Woolworths sell 1-2 per week, for huge artists and Zavvi do some current Rock/Indie ones alongside the band's album instore. Thats about it sadly. Oh, and Amazon and HMV online do fair business in them Download sites also include Woolworths and 7Digital is pretty big independent. Record company sites sometimes do their own thing as as u and martin mentioned artist websites, itunes etc. Hope that helps? The D/L market share by various websites/services isn't something that seems to be known at the mo- well sure someone (ie. OCC) knows but their not telling! :lol:

If they stay as massive as they've been this last month we may get single #4 if album sales are sustained, to keep them going, but i suspect we'll only get 3 to protect their run, and strong early album sales can kill subsequent single sales. U think we'll really get ANOTHER new album next Nov? They are unstoppable! :lol:
