not top40 (well 39) in mids :wacko: i hope the drop isn't too severe, Girls holding up ok though. What is the deal with this album?!! it's so good! Not sure where you'd find out about shippings other than BPI certs but 3 may be a way off but you're prob. right about TIMW. I hope they cert it though- they only did AWDF last one in 2006 so i thought they might have for the release of this album. Island are so lazy about the babes now :angry: they haven't even certified AYN and that's made gold never mind silver! (oh and overloaded should get a double disc too)

surely that number must vary wildly? Often, CD singles these days are thrown together as very low cost versions. Certainly for the artist, they receive greater royalties in general per unit for CDS than D/Ls. But it makes you wonder if there was a bit more support maintained for the physical format (okay with d/ls it's never gonna be like the 90s again) if it would make the physical more profitable/sustainable for record companies. They are kind of shooting themselves in the foot with this. D/L advantage is low overheads, though they are cheap most of cost is profit for record company

exceptional physical sales in this day and age. It is being sold everywhere though. Makes you think if shops would still support physicals properly their sales could still give downloads a run for their money, but they don't want to as the £ is in downloads these days :wacko: cheers for the info, v interesting :)

wow. shocked at Beyonce. Was sure if i thought about i'd come up with another higher sale. Of course, there will be songs who've sold more downloads that her in a week, they just happen to also have physical release (e.g. X-factor) On that, anyone know the split for the single? (d/l-physical)

Is the preorders chart based on the total number prior to release, or just the preorders placed in the last week? (The Will is slowing down comment suggested the latter but wasn't sure) Thanks Dave :)

I think they were left the best way it just would have been nice from the extra material/curiosity point of view, as even live versions aren't the same as studio recordings. I think, with those songs originally having been written with Mutya in mind, her husky voice suits them. Amelle's voice is a little harsher. Amelle is great in her own right though and there are a number of songs particularly on C&S where i don't think Mutya'd hold a candle to Amelle. Funny though, on some songs like Red Dress, they sound almost identical! Bit off topic i know but think we'll get a C&S tour? Go NCD! :lol:

Girls falls 14 to #31 this week, looks like it sold a little over 6k this week. Sales estimate? Must be over 100k now

guessing from the position and other sales C&S did over 6k this week (could be 1-2k more). Not great sales so far 40k+. Should go Silver soon though

Jark! Not loving RFC is like heresy to me. It still sounds sooo amazing! Me too, i love that bit! TLIY is so owned by Mutya. I always wonder what Amelle doing it would be like. I love Amelle's voice and it's actually quite similar to Mutya's but dunno if she could top her on this song. I do think it's one of their finest ballads. If only we had got Overloaded as it was originally intended we would know by now! And Heidi Overload/RFC- what would that've been like? :wacko:

Um, kinda funny considering in your sig (and i assume you like the pic since you are choosing to display it) GA are wearing completely different colours and styles of dresses together? Hardly matching as a band is it? :D Personally i like the pic, and the sugababes one in question is nice though i'd draw the line at Amelle's boots- not a fan of those at all! I think Jark's intent is clear here, use some common sense. If your intention in coming into this forum before even looking at the pics is to bash and undermine everything posted about the girls and by their supporters then this isn't the place for you. You of course have the option of judging any statement or picture on its merits and posting an appropriate response but this is the sugababes forum so if you have an irrational hatred for them, simply don't visit (this comment is directed generally and not to you individually btw, it seemed some clarification was needed)

Interesting! I thought from the singles DBTT sounded better than anything they'd done in years, but after Shock of the Lightning i thought this album may be a case of back to basics. Songs that don't sound like Oasis though? Could this be growth? Quite excited by the sound of that. They could do with trying some new stuff and attracting some new fans hopefully. "heavily reliant on a dying market" i took to mean the physical single market, as support for it has obviously been pulled and interest low, and Oasis are known to be still one of the biggest physical sellers around. Still think they can make top10 and hopefully top5 depending on the competition that week (not sure what but Xmas lead-up weeks are often busy)

Really? I didn't know that! Bit of an achievement. It's amazing they've kept such a large, loyal fanbase. Few bands of their type have their longevity- i mean Boyzone split up as Westlife started and are now having a big reunion and Westlife are still going! :lol:

Really? I find the opposite- we're all constantly told how talented and legendary they are that like the Beatles it's now impossible to say they're not very good, as people (without even hearing much of their music nowadays) just believe they are good because they've been told this by eveyone else. Personally i like Oasis, but i don't like the Beatles! :lol:

yeah that is confusing, see the Virgin book thread for more info. I mean, thought OCC would only sell the data to one company, otherwise it wouldn't be profitable for either to purchase it and compete in a (sort of) niche market. I would love to see Guinness20 but with the Virgin book out today and the previous reports of Guinness and OCC terminating their relationship, don't see this happening :(

I think this is really really good! I saw it on music TV tonight and thought "who's this it's actually quite good, not the usual pretend Indie tosh", then i saw Liam and thought wow! Great to hear them do something softer and ballady. Very unexpected for the title. Been mulling over buying their new album (haven't bought a studio one since Be Here Now though i loved the importance of being Idle so got STC about a year ago (for £2.75 would you believe!)), will def get around to it now, or put it on the Xmas list... Oh and on the subject of chart placing, hopefully will do well. Top 5? Oasis can still shift tracks and it is a good song
