20 Years of P!nk - The Singles
I remember I saw the video on one of the music channels, we'd only just got MTV, VH1 etc so I was constantly watching the music channels  I fell in love straight away. She was so different than everyone else out there, and at the time I felt different from every one too. I was big into TLC around that time as well, so her r&b phase with ctmh helped me to get into her. Then when my music taste changed to more rock/pop, so did Pink's when she released Missundaztood

P!NK Donates $500k To The Bushfires
US pop superstar P!NK has pledged a whopping $500,000 of her own money to local bushfire services across Australia. It’s a pretty well known fact that PINK (real name Alecia Moore) is a charitable queen. She’s previously donated $500,000 to Hurricane Harvey victims among many other charitable efforts. The Beautiful Trauma singer took to Twitter to share donation links and announce her impressive contribution. In just over an hour, her tweet received a huge outpour of love including 3.5k retweets and over 15,000 likes. “My heart goes out to our friends and family in Oz,” she captioned the tweet, which included links to fire services across the country. PINK has a pretty special relationship with Australia. I mean, she’s had multiple ARIA #1 albums and literally broke the record for the biggest selling tour by a solo female artist in Australian history when she played to over 600,000 on her The Truth About Love Tour in 2013. So naturally, she’s inclined to give back to the country that’s responsible for such a large part of her success. Back in 2009 she donated $250k to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal, but this time she’s doubling her efforts to a whopping $500k into the pockets of the charities that need it most. It’s unclear whether she’s donating in AUD or USD, but her individual contribution could be up to a whopping $719,000AUD depending on her chosen currency. Either way, it’s bound to be a huge help to the firefighters on the frontlines. Major celebrities and influencers from across Australia and the world are using their platforms to help raise funds and awareness for the bushfires that are currently devastating much of the country. This is the proactive energy we need in 2020. Obviously, not all of us can drop a casual half a million dollars in charitable donations. But if you’re interested in doing your part for the bushfire victims, we’ve compiled a handy list of how you can donate time, resources or funds to the people who need it most. Link

20 Years of P!nk - The Singles
2020 marks 20 years of P!nk's career in music. In 2000, Pink released her debut solo album, Can't Take Me Home. From now and throughout the year, a different topic will be posted (in this thread and separate threads) so celebrate each single, album, tour etc. ---------------------------------------------- There You Go So for this week's discussion we have Pink's debut single, There You Go. There you go was Pink’s debut single from her debut album Can’t Take Me Home. It was co-written by Pink, Kevin “She’kspere” Briggs and Kandi Burruss. The song got many positive reviews and was compare to tracks from Destiny’s Child (Bills Bills Bills) and TLC (No Scrubs). It was described by MTV Asia as having an edgy cut that has all that it takes to top the charts. Rolling Stone commented: "Her debut has one awesome single in 'There You Go', whose wronged-woman sass is set to a stop-start groove so bling-bling it redeems a chorus that ends, 'Sometimes it be's like that.'" Release History 20th February 2000 Peak Positions Australia - 2 Germany - 65 Ireland - 19 New Zealand - 6 Sweden - 26 UK - 6 US Billboard Hot 100 - 7 Music Video The music video was the first of many to be directed by Dave Meyers. It debuted in late November 1999. In the music video , Pink's ex-boyfriend Mikey calls her asking for a ride, and she reluctantly agrees to give him one. Pink hops on a motorcycle and rides to the top of a parking structure overlooking her ex's apartment, where she calls him on her cell. She then accelerates her motorcycle, jumps off at the last second, and watches as it soars off the building and crashes into his apartment window before exploding into flames, burning the armchair and the PlayStation (which Mikey was playing on earlier in the video). Pink then jumps into a car driven by a new guy, giving her ex the middle finger as they drive off. 66LnhtnSoKc BoaDlErXm9c LfQKEqdUQA8 2spp8p_TL-g EPZniokW0fg PjM4tYsxlfE

Pollstar Names P!nk 2019 Artist of the Year
According to Pollstar, a trade publication about the concert industry, P!nk's "Beautiful Trauma" tour was the highest grossing one of 2019, reaching the top spot on the publication's Year End Top 100 Worldwide Tour chart and making P!nk herself Pollstar's 2019 Artist of the Year. The tour—which consisted of 68 performances attended by over 1.8 million people—earned $215.2 million, more than Elton John's ($212 million) and Ed Sheeran's ($211.7 million) respective 2019 concert rounds. On average, each one of P!nk's shows sold 26,749 tickets, earning an average gross of $3.16 million per show. Overall, the tour, which kicked off in 2018, grossed $384.4 million, officially becoming the most successful concert series by a woman in this decade and the second most successful by a woman ever. Madonna’s “Sticky + Sweet” tour outperformed it. P!nk is no stranger to Pollstar’s ranking. Last year, her tour landed on the number four spot of the list, with gross earnings that reached $169.2 million. “I don’t believe in genres or boundaries,” the artist said to Pollstar. "And what's epic about making this kind of show with this kind of repertoire is that it can be a rock show, it can be theater, it can be Broadway, it can be acoustic.” "Anything you do a lot [...] makes you a master of your craft," she continues. "I can always get better, but I worked my ass off, and I can go from arenas to stadiums to clubs to backyard barbecues. That’s important. As a performer, you should be able to do all different kinds of music in different stages with different kinds of audiences." Link

Katy Perry hosts holiday party for The Boys and Girls Club
Katy Perry wears white as she sits on Santa's lap while hosting a holiday party for The Boys And Girls Club in Los Angeles Katy Perry embodied holiday spirit when she stopped by Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles on Wednesday. The 35-year-old was a winter wonderland in white as she hosted Amazon's Delivering Smiles holiday party at the LA Boys and Girls Club, Bell Gardens Clubhouse. Perry, with help from Amazon, transformed the clubhouse into a Winter-themed extravaganza, complete with candy canes, festive lights, and REAL snow! The Roar singer was dressed from head-to-toe in a monochromatic, snow-inspired ensemble that couldn't have been more fitting for the Bell Gardens Clubhouse party. A large bow sat atop Perry's head, as ostrich feather's lined the cuffs and hems of her matching metallic set. Known for her retro makeup looks, the songstress took a note from Marilyn Monroe and donned an eye-catching red lip paired with dramatic false eyelashes. The Bell Gardens clubhouse was revamped completely to provide the children of the Boys and Girls Club with a North Pole inspired setting for the party. With a hefty amount of REAL snow - extremely rare to Southern California - spread out among the clubhouse, children were able to build snowmen and even take a stab at snow sledding. Perry couldn't resist letting out her inner child as she took a seat on Santa's lap and took advantage of the manufactured LA snow day. As part of the celebration, the wish-list submitted by the Bell Gardens clubhouse to Amazon's Chartiry, AmazonSmile, was fulfilled entirely with help from none other than Katy, herself. And - to top it all off - each child in attendance received a gift hand-picked by the charitable pop star. “I loved partnering with Amazon to deliver smiles to the Boys and Girls Club of Bell Gardens today,” the singer expressed in a statement to Just Jared. Perry added: “We had a magical time getting into the holiday spirit in a winter wonderland of holiday magic filled with Christmas songs and stories, presents and REAL SNOW in Southern California" KP has been a huge supporter of the Boys and Girls Club organization throughout her career. In 2017, before she embarked on her Witness World Tour, the Teenage Dream singer encouraged fans to volunteer at their local clubs for the chance to win VIP meet and greets to the tour date of their choice across the US. The singer is closing out her year on a busy note, having just headlined iHeartRadio's annual Jingle Ball, as well as coming off an awe-inspiring performance at FIFA Club Word Cup. Just last month, the quirky singer released the music video for her Christmas song, Cozy Little Christmas, proving Christmas is her absolute favorite time of year. The video featured Perry dressed in a variety of wacky Christmas looks, including a candy cane bodysuit, which she showed off on her Instagram page. Link
