Mentioned it in the other thread but I'll say it again. I voted for Iceland, Latvia, Albania and Finland. Didn't intend to vote for Finland but the performance changed my mind. 2 out of 4 isn't too bad I guess....although Iceland was pretty much a given.

Who did everyone vote for? I voted for Iceland, Latvia, Albania and Finland. So 2 out of 4 of my votes made it through. I initially wasn't intending to vote for Finland but the performance changed my mind.

I really enjoyed Albania's performance. Mind I wasn't crazy about the song when I first heard it, but it has grown on me since then.

Happy with the qualifiers, although I would replace Greece and Moldova with Latvia and Finland. Then everything would be perfect.

Is it just me or does Rona seem a little agitated?....

Is there a live streaming of the press release? (picking the numbers)

I'm not the only one who thought the presenters were painfully dull and wooden am I? (and had an awful sense of humour with jokes that seemed like they were thought up five minutes before the show started) It feels like we were spoiled with the Norwegian and German presenters of previous years. :(

That reminds me, I scored the performances while I was listening to them. Montenegro - 1/10 Iceland - 9/10 Greece - 5/10 Latvia - 8.5/10 Albania - 8.5/10 Romania - 7.5/10 Switzerland - 5.5/10 Belgium - 7/10 Finland - 8.5/10 Israel - 6/10 San Marino - 7/10 (Much better than I thought it would be, it was definitely enjoyable) Cyprus - 7/10 Denmark - 8/10 Russia - 7/10 Hungary - 7/10 Austria - 1/10 Moldova - 4/10 Ireland - 8.5/10 Jedward put in a much better performance than I thought they would, their rehearsals didn't exactly blow me away.

While we were watching/listening to Belgium's performance my mum said "That's the winner" Oh dear.

THAT WAS TENSE Bugger for Latvia and Finland though. :( I bet they were clogged up in a group of songs near the qualification spot, it was hard to call. I get the feeling it was tight. On the other hand I'm over the moon for Albania. (also Iceland and Denmark but they were pretty much always going to qualify)

Us too, got a whole bunch of snacks. Having a mini eurovision party. :D Almost 10 minutes to go!

I don't think it's quite that clear cut. There's at least 2 or 3 qualifying place up for grabs that could go almost anywhere. It'll have it's work cut out for it for sure though.

I don't think Latvia is by any means a certain qualification....but I wouldn't be that surprised if it qualified. It's amongst a bunch of songs all scrabbling for 8th, 9th and 10th and I find it really hard to call it. It's so much easier to predict the qualifiers that will walk it.

Zalileh has been growing on me the last few days. So much so it's knocked Belgium off my list of wanted qualifiers. I still don't love it, but it's a happy song. :P

What I think will qualify: Montenegro (16th) Iceland (5th) Greece (2nd) Latvia (10th) Albania (8th) Romania (1st) Switzerland (17th) Belgium (11th) Finland (9th) Israel (14th) San Marino (15th) Cyprus (6th) Denmark (3rd) Russia (4th) Hungary (13th) Austria (18th) Moldova (12th) Ireland (7th) I think Albania could achieve a Lithuania 2011 style result. I do feel there's about 7 places already sewn up tonight.....and the remaining 3 places could go almost anywhere, it's pretty hard to call. It is a very strong semi overall, there could be a few shockers....things never go as smoothly as you predict. :lol:

Is it just me or is the stage so very small? I half expect some of the singers to fall off the edge come the semi finals.

I have a feeling Ireland is going to fail to qualify on Tuesday. I hope I'm wrong, it's just the recent performances I've seen of Waterline have been pretty poor. :( I can't make full predictions right now, because I'm trying not to watch many rehearsals.

That's awful :( These people sound like such hateful idiots though, they probably are just a bunch of kids in a basement somewhere. I read somewhere that there actually is backups but they'll take a while to get up. They said on their facebook page that esctoday will be coming back stronger than ever though. :) Anyone see this? :lol:

I heard Jedward singing on the late late show on Friday. The backing singers were actually appalling. It's made me question our chances to be honest.

Does anyone feel this season isn't as good as the first two seasons? :( Even with the latest twist to the storyline I just felt a bit "meh" about it. Not to mention Klaus has bee such a boring villain. The last exciting thing he did was when he killed Jenna during the sacrifice, since then he's been going downhill because all he ever does now is threaten to kill everybody Elena loves....talk about broken record. I think I'd enjoy Matt as a villain more than Klaus. Joao, yeah I can definitely see that. For the last few weeks I've been watching episodes of Buffy.....and when you compare the two shows the relationships in Buffy really do mean something and they seem more realistic. TVD is definitely too heavy on the "destined love" and "love will conquer all" nonsense. Some times I end up cringing when they fall into each others arms like the end of a disney movie.

I have to say something.... Rae Morris looks like Emma Watson. (or perhaps more Hermione Granger) The resemblance is uncanny.

I think Montenegro is actually starting to grow on me a little. Those ello ello parts are very memorable and unusual.

It's definitely not just you. During the song confirmation period it was getting to point where I almost felt like groaning when a new ballad appeared. I find it difficult to appreciate some ballads that are in the contest this year....not because they're bad but just because there is so many of them.
