I like the video. The song has been growing on me a little along with Estonia's song Kuula. Needs more time to grow I think.

It would be handy if we could enroll the whole of Europe in Albanian language classes before Eurovision. :lol:

Was just listening to Iris on youtube. She kind of reminds me of Taylor Swift. Hopefully Belgium will go for Country Pop instead of a plain old ballad. (Country Pop and Ballads are her thing apparently) Wouldn't mind something like Switzerland last year.

Agreed. So many ballads already and a lot of them are more interesting to listen to. I'm really hoping now Belgium has something uptempo. Since the UK will be ANOTHER ballad most likely. :( It's a shame, I was expected more when I saw the song title.

I would kind of hope they translated the song to english. Only because it seems like the kind of song that relies so heavily on it's lyrics being understood. I like the song a lot more after I went looking for the english translation of it. I'd be afraid those that just tune in on the night will just see a woman oversinging the chorus for no reason.

I can imagine the public vote being very good to San Marino if this doesn't get disqualified. The juries would have a field day ripping it apart though. Then again, the same could be said for quite a few songs in Semi 1 now.....

Listening to this now, I feel like I've been transported back to the 90's. Maybe they could just mix around the lyrics a bit instead of just thrashing it?

The bad english is almost endearing though.

I don't see a big issue with these. As I said before they're not life changing but when the melody is so good I don't mind. I can get an overall meaning and vibe from the song. That's good enough for me. Most of the time, as long as the lyrics of a song aren't like "baby shake ma thang on da dancefloh" I can look past them to get to the melody.

There are plenty of instances of weak lyrics in this years ESC though. I doubt Greece or Cyprus will be winning any awards for their lyrics. I don't personally have a problem with the lyrics, they're not deep and life changing but they're still pleasant. It's lighthearted and fun. It doesn't mean I'm ashamed of adoring it.

I bet it was probably what anmary was wearing in the performance (the whole holland thing) that got a little of people not taking the song seriously.

Why would it have to make up for Beautiful Song? Honestly I really really really really don't know why people hate that song so much. The chorus is insanely catchy and it's always popping into my head. :wub:

Slovakia 17. Georgia 18. Belarus I feel like people are probably being too shy/wary and not putting Sweden in 1st as a result in case they jinx it. Probably since I'm not looning about it as much it's easier for me to say it'll be on top. :P We also need to remember that the Jury votes can easily throw a spanner in the works for countries that would usually slip through in 8th-10th in previous years. They make things so much more unpredictable. To be honest I haven't a clue why I'm putting Serbia so high, I think it's mostly because I'm not sure what other country would get 2nd. It would probably be a little naive to put a Sweden/Norway top two. You could probably swap Croatia for Estonia or Portugal....it's an iffy area.

We match except for Portugal/Slovakia. :P I have a feeling Slovakia could have a really strong live performance.

I have a feeling that my relatively high ranking for the grannies (14th) will start to drop closer to Eurovision when the novelty wears off. I think it's a short lived song in terms of novelty. They need to have the contest tomorrow. :P

Austria Bulgaria has been growing on me out of the blue like something fierce recently. Sweden moves from 8 to 7 on account of me starting to fall out of love with Croatia. I feel like I'm missing a country.....

Maybe we should have a "Who would like to see qualify" thread too eventually? (or keep it in this thread, like who I think/who I want.)
