I want Rocket Launch to represent us, if only because it's the only song that doesn't sound cheesy or typical. (well in comparison to the rest) edit: She's the one from Donna & Joseph right? I liked her...always thought she could do better without that muppet. Donna seems to have gotten a lot better too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aszkBWeX3c If Jedward represents us I hope we fail to qualify....a good result will only encourage them to keep coming back. Once was enough. Personally I don't think they should be competing in the NF at all, it's painfully obvious they'll win again, so why not just cut to the chase? It's unfair to the other competitors when Jedward have this hysteria that surrounds them. (Like with Dustin)
  2. Pretty disappointed in Buzzjack to be completely honest. -_- It's a beautiful song, far above most of the rubbish in semi one. Usually I'm fine with what I get, but I really feel New Look - The Ballad deserved better. Thanks Isconia for the 12 and Aquafina for the 10. Also thanks to Zechonia for the 12. :) (Thanks to BaNG, Eledan and Chriseland as well)
  3. I guess that means it's Daehun VS Dalisska since Republic of Sass didn't vote?
  4. Goodness this is getting tight. :S
  5. Congrats to everyone who got through so far. Come on New Look, you can do it!
  6. I don't know, they'd probably just go whinge about it on twitter. <_<

I always listen to the songs in the order they are listed on voting page. Doesn't matter if I've loved dozens of your entries in the past you're still last if you are listed last.

  9. Listening through the songs now. Apart from two songs I'm really not impressed with what I'm hearing. (and one of those two I had already heard before) I'd like to say that it's all still pleasant stuff but I'd be lying. :(
  10. Just noticed the deadline is tomorrow and I haven't listened to a single song. :drama: Will be on a song listening fest tonight then.
  11. How would a DJ talent contest work? I can't imagine anyone caring very much about some DJ twisting out tunes on stage. Then again there were some who said strictly would never work....
  12. It sounds like a mess to me. They should bring back something like Stars In Their Eyes.
  13. You know, I did watch tv shows on megavideo and videobb. More than anything because of convenience. (also because I wanted to watch shows exactly when they became availible for consumption and not wait until it comes to Europe.) Them being gone doesn't mean I'm going to start rushing out to buy the dvd box sets for those tv shows. The big executives probably think so.... -_- Youtube next?
  14. I don't really mind when you post it. Take your time. Make sure everythings just right rather than rushing and making a bags of it.
  15. Not so much really, over at NSC I've seen semis (when it was really full) that had 11 out of 25 qualifying.

There's an irish version of SOPA coming around now. A minister by the name of Sean Sherlock is behind it: http://www.thejournal.ie/readme/reader-irelands-sopa-a-faq/ There's a petition set up to stop it too: http://stopsopaireland.com/

Hmm.... citzRjwk-sQ Maybe I'm late to the party on ACTA....but it seems dangerously similar to SOPA and it's European.

To be fair, I do think there are a substantial amount of internet users who won't take this lying down and accept it. Even if the majority are happy to just let it happen. Mass Effect 3 is coming out in March....the black march thing might struggle......

Are you sure? I checked the fbi website a few times today (and just now) and it's still online.

I hope anonymouse don't stop, this is just what they deserve for shutting down megaupload. It really saddens me is that this isn't getting more attention. There are some people who'll only start caring when they log on to the web and there's a big "THE INTERNET IS DEAD" plastered over their web browser. <_< For such a widely used medium, people don't seem to care about the internet. I guess they're perfectly happy going back to playing tic tac toe all day and staring at the wall if the internet were to be ruined forever. Edit: Hmm I found this on a youtube video, paste it into your address bar: http://109.236.83.66/ Megaupload are trying to go online again. I'm not entirely sure if it's legit.

Don't worry, they'll all just have good bawl after it happens and it's too late. That's how you get things done. -_-

It seems like yesterdays blackout has had a really strong effect, many of SOPA and PIPA key supporters (politicians and such) have pulled away from the bill. (suddenly deciding that it actually does damage free speech and seeing the error of their ways ) Probably most interesting of all, is that Microsoft have come out against the bill. http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/01/19...ened-yesterday/ Something I've seen mentioned and I hope people will be vigiliant against. Is the possibility that even if they pull SOPA and PIPA. Somewhere down the line they'll come back with something less offensive but still fairly outrageous......expecting it to be accepted more easily just because they can say "well it's better than SOPA/PIPA". I hope we'll all keep that in mind for the future.

Another thing I've noticed is a lot of people seem to think that just because they don't live in America that this won't affect them. As long as the server for a site/service is located in America it will be subject to SOPA. Maybe it won't affect those outside America directly but it will definitely have a serious knock on effect all over the world. Here's hoping the massive backlash will kill off SOPA and PIPA for good. Edit: I had to laugh at the RTE evening news. There was a section about SOPA and how it would have a detrimental affect on the internet. They were talking to somebody from wikipedia about the bill. Then at the end they reminded everyone that wikipedia was still available on phones and that in times of old people used to visit libraries to use a resource known as books.

I really can't believe some people don't have the sense to look at their "terrible grief" over wikipedia being down (and as you said it's not really down, it's just an overlay...if you stop loading the page at the right time you can view whatever wikipedia page you want) and then come to the conclusion that if SOPA were to be passed the situation would be far worse. I doubt the kind of people posting on that twitter page even touched the "Learn More" page though.
  25. I have trouble with rap at the best of times. I don't think I could stomach some novelty rap. Send whatever you want though.
