We didn't deserve the last place. I did really think we would have gotten a 16th-22nd out of it at least. I suppose in hindsight Europe probably didn't appreciate a song in which the word love is repeated constantly throughout the whole song.... For next year I would like if we sent something mid-tempo.....not uptempo like Jedward/Ryan but not a slow bland love ballad either. We should probably try to be a bit more creative too. (Classy creativity, not "let's go crazy and send a turkey" creativity :lol:) I think that's what is really lacking with us, it's creativity.

Voted for The Netherlands, Norway and Spain. My mum voted for Iceland and Norway.

You know as much as I hate to admit it, there really were numerous occasions were I was saying Ukraine and Azerbaijan before they announced them as the 12 points. The majority of the Eastern bloc are painfully predictable with their 12's.

I did too actually. If only because Azerbaijan are not very good at hosting. At least Russia put on a good show.

I don't think we deserved that last place. :( RTE News just had a piece on the result, they played snippets of a couple of the songs. Called Armenia "no hopers" and said that Romania "sucked the life blood out of the audience". :lol: Glad that Denmark won over Azerbaijan. Can't believe Azerbaijan got 2nd place...such a bland song. I don't think much would be worse than another Azerbaijani hosting, such wooden hosts.

Main reason I don't like it is that it doesn't sound like anything except high pitched warbling noise. It sounds more like he's sending signals to the mothership than speaking any human language. Personally I think Azerbaijan is going to flop. I'd love to say the same will happen for Georgia...but I think they'll do pretty well (at least top ten, if not top five)

I'm wondering if Italy might be a bit of an underdog in this. I mean the juries will probably adore him and he has something like over 100 million views on his entry on youtube. I get the feeling the new voting system could at the very least make things a lot tighter than usual. Might even cause an upset...although it might not be that big a change.

I don't think my heart will be able to take the possibility of Georgia winning. It better stay away from the top five. :(

I voted just now. I had to cut out three songs that I quite liked...and there was a bit of shuffling around after seeing their live performances.

Israel was robbed. I feel sick thinking about it. No San Marino or Bulgaria either.....really thought Bulgaria had a great chance after that performance. I suppose I was never going to escape the semis without having a facepalm moment.

The Netherlands X3 Montenegro x2 They were my two favourite performances and I felt like they needed the help (seems Montenegro needed more help than I could give....)

The performance last night was a lot better than I expected actually. I'm thinking we might not completely flop on Saturday, but I can't see a top ten happening. We could get a mid table (12th-17th) result.

That was pretty mean leaving The Netherlands until last. Random order, yeah right.... I think I celebrated as much for the Netherlands as I did for Ireland last night.

We're lucky here in Ireland we always get to watch the show and Marty knows when to talk and when not to talk. It always annoys me watching shows when the commentators or the hosts don't know when to shut up and let us watch what we came to watch. Or they think the show is all about them.

They were a let down (although I wasn't that crazy about them to begin with) So Moldova and Russia surpassed them in my preferred qualifiers. Cyprus in particular pleasantly surprised me. Sad that it didn't qualify....but probably more sad that Montenegro didn't qualify. They really deserved to qualify this time. :( Don't really understand how Lithuania made it through. (Estonia and Belgium I kinda get) Lithuania seems to have a knack for inexplicably qualifying. Voted three times for the Netherlands and two times for Montenegro.

Surely one of them will be San Marino? San Marino and then either Bulgaria or Hungary and I'll be happy.
