This is my favourite, absolutely stunning song. It made the final too so I have my fingers crossed. y8YNSQqY_AE There's something very mystifying about this song.

Geez, my least favourite of the three. :( It sounds messier than the other two songs, I also don't think Elitsa sounded as well on that song as she did in the other two. Maybe it will grow on me, I really loved Water.

  4. Really unimpressed with how Eurovision is shaping up this year. :( I can't see this being a banner year somehow. Aside from Sweden's hosting of the contest. Not sure if that will even be enough though.

Voted Estonia for both. None of them are really that good though.

Well Estonia have made a mess of things. <_<

Great to see Grete Paia getting a good slot. I'll be watching this tonight instead of the Andra Chasen. Estonia could be my number one country this year if Grete Paia gets through. The song keeps popping into my head all the time.
  8. Don't really remember. I think I started watching it properly and actually remembering it around 2003 but I had watched it many times before when I was smaller....I just don't really remember.
  9. It still amazes me when Euphoria suddenly starts playing on Irish tv shows. Just tonight on Operation Transformation (weight loss show) they played the song during the marathon section. I don't know of any other eurovision song in recent years that has been so readily accepted by the general public. :)
  10. I wonder if Ulrik will suck up any votes from Robin. Going to predict Robin for 5th.
  11. Does anyone else think Sylvia looks like Catherine Tate? I kept thinking "Donna Noble as a cougar" watching this.
  12. I almost suggested BWO. I knew I saw him somewhere.
  13. The first one was very funny. I recognise the bearded guy......I really should know where he's from.

Ukraine has been promoted to Great, it's really growing on me. I can already see Greece getting 1st place in their semi. :drama:

Well to be fair, not many of the other country's songs so far are putting up much of a fight. If we entered this last year I'd be more worried, the overall quality last year was very high. I suppose we'll have to see what the remaining countries bring to the table.

I wouldn't dare if I was you, I've got Pirate Assassins on call. Seriously though, I don't see anything about "Only Love Survives" that can't be improved upon. I do really like Crashing Down and it was my close second choice (There was a point where I almost voted for it instead of Ryan) but I'm just not convinced it wouldn't get completely lost at Eurovision. I don't think it was that memorable either...lovely in the moment and then it's gone. In another way though I'm just glad Fire didn't win.

I hope so. I think it can be improved upon. There's no saving Fire if it gets through.....

I'm surprised we haven't seen Linda Martin at all tonight.

I wish Ryan had toned it down a bit....it would have been a good performance if his voice hadn't been so high pitched. Plus there were points where I couldn't hear what he was singing. No use crying over spilt milk now though I guess.

I Voted for Only Love Survives. It seems like our best bet. (which admittedly doesn't feel very "best" at all right now) I'm going to hold on to the faith that it'll be better and more explosive at Eurovision. If Fire wins with that performance it's going to be cringe city for the Irish at Eurovision. I wish the sound system had been better, I have a feeling it was at least partially to blame.

Thought this as well, or something was wrong with the sound system. Still looks like our best bet, they can fix things like that.

Thought Zoey would be better, but this is brutal. :(

Son Kez was a bit boring, listenable but aside from the instrumental wasn't up to much. Really liking Aimee's performance but I'm not sure how well it will translate to malmo.

Lordi will be performing during the show. Should be interesting.

Eurovision sure loves it's "Shine" songs. Nice enough, nothing special though.
