Oh and I really liked Follow Me Home, well the original version the one with Amelle her vocals don't do the track justcie in quite the same way its a little cold but I still enjoy it, I was really shocked that happened and to follow on from 3 huge hits was quite a shock. After the last two singles and yes always their 4th release is usually quite a small hit, I dread to think what can happen to a 4th single from this album, but then it could pass by the last two and be a big hit, we will just have to wait and see.

Whilst I agree 100% with the first statement I don't think Denial was a boring song, it was the best song on a very poor album and by far the best single they ever released with Amelle since she has been in the group after a string of IMO below Sugababes standard singles. I just hope they can turn things around with the next album & the damage caused by this era of the group can be reversed :)

The previous singles before inclusion of downloads in the U.K singles chart did not have the luxury of being boosted up the charts several weeks before its physical release, adding not only to its overall sales but its chart run also. If you took away its sales & chart peaks before the physical release that would wipe a chunk off the sales total and of course shorten their chart runs, hence as I already said the charts are completely different to what they were in 2000 up untill the inclusion of download sales. Denial was the best song on the album by a million miles, it deserved to do much better than it did yes. But to keep putting the sales up against years that didnt have downloads and were greatly effected by illegal downloading is a little silly and also not how the industry works, think how much those older singles would have sold IF downloads were included back then also! Denial/Change were not big hits in 2007/8 like In The Middle, Too Lost In You were in 2003/4 its a completely different ball game now because downloads have drastically regenerated & redesigned the charts.

Erm that is not the case at all, the song was on heavy rotation on MTV/VH1 and all other types of music channels also was in TMF's top 10 requested/played videos for several weeks including before release, during & after its physical release, it was also A-listed on radio one and they also performed on three on the U.K's highest rated television programmes as well as featuring in several magazines/newspapers with interviews etc etc. Denial was not a song that was not promoted and it actually recieved more promotion than Change did and a whole heap of their former singles with Mutya.

Yes but you are basing that on sales figures from the past when the singles market changes so much year from year, based on sales figures from 2003, 2006 they are doing the norm based on todays singles market Denial & Change have not. They would need the next single if they go for a 4th one to be a huge top 5 hit in order to generate enough interest in the album again, to get it to sell which both Change & Denial failed to do :( the album so far in the last 4 months has not even sold 100k which is not upto their usual sales at all by the 3rd single. Had it of not been for About You Now they could have ended up like what happened to Mutya, so thank god that didn't happen :) If they go for a 4th single (and in they I mean Universal/Island) they will have to be very careful with what to pick. I still think a slightly remixed version of Never Gonna Dance again to give it some welly would be the best choice, although the album version I do love it just sort of goes nowhere it plods along but the right remix could do it wonders. Hope to god its not My Love Is Pink or another Ballad

But you also have to remember the singles chart is very different now to what it was in 2003 or even 2000 and sales expectations are also very different. Denial has done ok, it has not done as well as it should have because its a great song. What deems a hit is not just sales or chart placements but a combination of the two. So where it may seem it has out performed previous top 10 hits on paper it may appear that way but it is more weight up by that overall year & how singles were performing in general also the amount of promo that went into it, record company out goings, if the song was on heavy rotation on both radio & music channels like MTV etc etc 2003 in general was a very bad year for singles sales, but I would never say that In The Middle or Caught In A Moment were huge hits because they were not but they did very well VS a struggling singles market and the amount or lack of promo both singles recieved, especially the latter. Denial & in particular Easy on the other hand had a huge amount of promo and radio/tv support but have both under performed, Change also being the same although that was drastically helped by christmas sales it only just by a small margin out sold New Year & Too Lost In You (both xmas singles) but again TLIU was a much bigger hit and NY sort of tanked because again the markets were very different when they were released in the same way that 10 years earlier than that singles sales were much stronger and something that would have only managed a peak of say 30 but hung around the charts could have outsold a number one single in todays market. I personally think the girls need to cut their losses with this album and really really hit hard with the next one, bring back the edge they once had, be original again and really go for it. They should not really chance releasing another single from this album and have it end up the same way as the last two. They can pull it all back though with the next one and hopefully win back the fans they lost :)
