The Vard Sisters are very good live, as are Don and Nikki. Jedward can't sing, and this new group that are also competing are apparently 'experienced'... One member being from D-Side. D:
There will be a documentary on Feb 5 and we'll see each act recording the songs and how they got there and all that. I hope we get some previews soon. I'm pinning my hopes on Nikki!

Norway have Susanne Sundfør, who is absolutely amazing and probably one of my favourite Nordic artists. Her album is on iTunes - I strongly recommend it! :D
Katzenjammer are also Norwegian, and are on-par with Susanne Sundfør. Also available on iTunes. :) Gåte too, but they're more folky metal.
Sweden has so many good artists, I don't even know where to begin! :/ If you like the more jazzy pop, you should listen to Veronica Maggio.
Denmark have the likes of Nephew, Stoffer og Maskinen and Trentemøller.
The Faroe Islands have Valravn, who are great!

I'm growing more and more confident that Nikki will give Jedward a good hiding! :P She has a song called "Dead or Alive" (it's on YouTube) and I'm guessing her entry will be along the same lines as that considering the team behind it. Jedward's song is produced by the guys responsible for JLS' success :o

I'd love to try this because I was a mod on another forum for about 3 years (and it was for the ENTIRE forum, not just one section), but the commitment thing would be hard for me. :( I'm getting a new laptop soon so I'll be able to participate in the contest again, but wouldn't be able to mod come September when I'll be slaving away in some university in France. Good luck with whoever applies! ^_^

The thought of Jedward representing Ireland singing some ultra cheesy song, one wearing a neon green jacket and the other wearing a neon orange jacket sends shivers down my spine.
Lol, well Ireland have just been allocated a place in the second half of the second semi. It's quite a weak semi judging by the countries in it. Jedward could actually qualify if the song is half decent! :heehee:

Doesn't matter, Jedward will slew all who stand against them.
They will be like a steamroller and they will crush to death the pride of our country in one fell swoop.
:heehee: I honestly won't mind if Jedward represent us if they have a really good song. I'd prefer if they didn't, but I guess they're better than the turkey... :P I still can't see the juries voting for them, I really can't.

Next batch of songs are now online, here. Not too shabby! Isabella's song is my favourite from those clips. Endre's song is quite nice also, but it screams Sistesjansen :P

Oh lol. I can see this being truly awful. :( Don Mescall was the songwriter who participated in 2006 and 2007 as a songwriter and both of his songs finished second. Haven't heard him sing yet, though. The Vard Sisters..... Eeeeek! Jedward, I like, but their song will have to be really good for me to support them. Nikki Kavanagh has a good voice, I just hope she has a song that'll do her justice. And the group.... Please be better than Wonderland :kink:

General election in Ireland in a few months, so I'm predicting a huge win for Fine Gael (christian democrats) and Labour (:cheer:). Sinn Fein will get a rather large protest vote (around 16%) :nocheer:
I'm also predicting David Norris for president of Ireland in the autumn. What a guy! :D
Can't predict anything for the UK, unfortunately. Not familiar enough with the political scene over there... :(
