  3. :o Is It True didn't stay the same! :o I'd pretty much say the epic (overused, but appropriate here) key change alone got her to 2nd place last year. Truly spine-tingling moment.

A given? I don't think without seeing the draw we could predict such a disparity between how Norway and Ireland do  If Ireland perform in the last five slots, and away from Norway, victory could well be in the bag.

NEIN. :arrr: Is It True, as much as I loved it, sounded the same for the entire three minutes. Yeah, there were key changes, but that was it. This Is My Life has quite a different ending than the rest of the song. :o

I actually don't want Ireland to win, so maybe that's why I don't see it winning because I secretly hope it doesn't. :heehee: Stockholm 2011, plz.

  4. My post wasn't against anybody who nominated Kom, btw. I think Tyron was the only person who said he might have sent it, so why it had to be banned when it wouldn't have been sent is just a tad OTT. Yeah, I'd vote for it if it was sent, but only if it was good enough against whatever else was being sent! And just because some people here are "Eurovision loons" doesn't mean they'd automatically vote for it. What about Salem? I've seen just as much hype about him on here, yet because he's male and not completely europop people wouldn't feel threatened.

I just feel that this banlist, as good as it is most of the time, will be used as a way to ban NF entries... a ban that was overturned not too long ago. People will just use it as a way to by-pass the now defunct NF ban - that's basically what I'm trying to say. :heehee:

  5. Oh yes Theo, who didn't even listen to/doesn't even like the song.

    Meow.

I can see why it's banned, but at the same time I'm disappointed people felt the need to ban it when there are many, many more 'cheaper' songs out there that will go unbanned. What an abuse of the system, tbh. Were people just afraid of it? No way would it have done well. Shame. :nocheer:

  6. I agree. I can see Anna's song on the radio stations here. I wouldn't be surprised if Ireland gives their 12 to Sweden this year! (And yes, it's better than Is It True. It has a nice ending, while Is It True kinda just stayed the same throughout the entire three minutes)

Ireland won't win, that's pretty much a given. It will be low top 10, I think, maybe even 11 - 13. Sweden winning, or top 3 at least. Norway at 5 - 6. Germany might even come higher than 15th this year! :w00t: The UK.... where do I begin? Probably battling for last place with Ukraine or something. :P

  7. Although Malena was opera (which Slovenia had already done in 2007), it still had the same old schlager dance beat underneath that they used in 2004, 2006 and 2008...Snalla Snalla would have been a far bigger risk.

That's true, but I think Salem would have been too different for Eurovision. I don't think the people of Europe would 'get it'. But now you can use it in BJSC. :kink:

  8. I know we'll never know but I honestly think that Salem would have eased into the top five, just because it would have stood head and shoulders above the generica. Sweden are too safe for their own good, so can't complain that they keep missing the top ten...

They took a risk in 2009, though. And that didn't do too well for them, so I can understand why they chose Anna. Great song, safe, and guaranteed top 10. I would have preferred to have seen KOW or Kom at Eurovision, but This Is My Life is still my favourite from Melodifestivalen. ^_^
