It's the station that airs all of the local programs from the overseas regions (like Guadeloupe and Mayotte) but maybe I'm missing something obvious. Does this include "Chacun pense à soi" because I honestly thought I was the only fan of it?!

'Only Teardrops' was a catchy pop song that happened to have a couple of folky notes; DR hardly marketed it as Celtic and it hardly won because of the tin whistle in the chorus. RTÉ seem to think you need to cash-in on the whole Celtic thing and have stone-age/bronze-age symbolism thrown around everywhere. It's just so tacky and it hasn't worked for years so I don't know why they seem to think it does? She seems NICE but I wouldn't be overly fussed. It would all depend on the song though!

Most 'big names' that were rumoured to take part have denied it (and wouldn't you). REALLY hoping this isn't just another Late Late 'special' because what's the point? Like they still don't get that it's no longer 1996 and faux-Celtic imagery/sound just doesn't work anymore.

We had national marches today and over 5,000 people sang La Marseillaise outside Alliance Française in Dublin. I planned to go but got held up elsewhere, but apparently it was quite something. And JK Rowling's response to Murdoch was fabulous.

There's now an up-to-date alphabetical list of all songs from the main contest. Took me about seventeen years because the board rules don't allow posts to go over a certain amount of characters, so after trying every possible way to cheat the system I decided to split it over two posts which I wanted to avoid but I had no choice. :cry: The spin-off list is in the spin-off forum CRC which I will be tackling next week. Hurrah. The only thing to do now is input the semifinal places for the finalists in LXX. Can't complete that fully until Lee posts his scoreboard from the last contest. :D

I'm in the middle of updating it, hence the invisibility. All songs are there under their respective contests, so if you could use Ctrl+F for now then that would be fab! :D

Well aren't I shit! This is almost done. Just need to do the November contest and then update the alphabetical list. The reformatting is where it takes CENTURIES, but I'm going to implement a better way of doing this so it'll be updated straight after each contest. Nu year nu me. :o
