  1. It's so strange, John... "Ram", the album, "Back Seat of my Car" was taken from, topped the Album Chart in the UK in 1971. Why do radio stations ignored the single from ex-Beatle? Even Ringo Starr had a huge hit in 1971 with It Don't Come Easy. Seems like everything related to the Beatles were selling icredibly well in that year...
  2. Hi, John! Great movement in the chart by A ROSE BY ANY NAME! Another Top 10 hit by Sir Paul... Can't see why it flopped when it was originally released in 1971... Should check that Mika song.
  3. Hi, John! :D Nice No.1. Friend And Love are also new artists for me. Never heard them before. And i agree it's a very 1968-sounding track! I wonder, what made you return Wild Cherry's funky classic to the chart, John?
  4. Hello, John! Hope you're feeling fine now! I know it's not easy to control youself when you're on holiday... So many temptation all around... Anyway, wish you a good holidays in the sun :D Thanks for bringing Blondie's new song to my attention. Surely be a hit in my Chart too.
  5. Wow! So-ooooooo good!!! Looks like the entries No.60, 61, 64 and 71 are echoing last weekend's Glasto festival. :D Did you enjoy it, John? I did. I really get my rocks off on Rolling Stones' performance. I just couldn't believe my eyes! These guys have started 50 years ago! And they still rocks!
  6. What a great thread, Dave! Keep it going, please! Would be nice to have the similar sort of list for the 70's and 80's... Dave, you missed No.70...
  7. This Chart is full of great songs as always! BLURRED LINES and TREASURE are also climbing up my Chart. John, is this really the first week in your Chart for Icona Pop and I LOVE IT? I wanted charted it about a year ago when it first appearef on YouTube, but then i found it a little bit too simple... Then i've heard it once again on Some Girls TV Series and i said "Wow! It's a bomb!". However the song have already been a year old and usually i nominate the newest songs. So i still unsure whether i should chart it or no. And now you tease me...
  8. You're always welcome, John! :D And nice to see Capital Cities in this Chart too. Have you seen this Visa ad? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=playe...p;v=gJ0FGWG2h0U I think it's a good excuse to chart "Don't Stop Me Now". ;) P.S. Feel myself like that grandad these days (though in a different role) :D
  9. Yep, it's hard to resist the temptation when you've got over 50 platinum albums and 30-40 years behind... :D John, if you ever bump into "The Rolling Stones: Some Girls - Live in Texas 1978" DVD (i believe they even released this on BlueRay), do take it! The tour followed immediately on the release of the Some Girls album. The concert is not in a stadium but a theatre and the band perform without backing singers and big production support. No horns, no special effects and the result is totally amazing!
  10. Looks like you've been a rebel young man, John! :D Oh thank you for this! This period was absolutely brilliant for MMEB. Fantastic song! You haven't been prepared for the World Cup, John! :D I know England missed Argentina in '78, but Scotland was great... in their last out of three matches (had they played that quality football from the beginning...) Only 24... :( Thin Lizzy have been so good... Perhaps my favourite band of the period... This new wave classic is one of my faves in 1978. Suppose this song is that low only because it's in the end of its chartrun... Absolutely amazing track. My fave from Out of the Blue double LP. I hope it would climb higher in July. :D Another new wave classic. Wow, that's good! Stones made a tremenous comeback in '78 with Miss You as a single and Some Girls as an album.

  12. Hi, John! Great Chart as always! Top 3 hit from Ray Charles looks quite surprising. Reached 20 in my Chart. Though it looks even better at 3 :D Haven't heard your No.1. Other members say it sounds like 80's. Then i really should give it a try. I know you're a huge Pet Shop Boys fan. However seems like "Axis" doing a little bit better in my Chart ;) Think it's the best PSB track in ages. Feels like i'm 17 again.
  13. Lovely Chart, John! :D Great No.1! This song is really worth to be at the top! I'm glad that you liked The Look's new single. Really surprising jump from Ray Charles...
  14. You're welcome, John! Nice that our charts looks similar :D Thank you, Mart!n for comment :D
  15. ANDREJ'S TOP50 ALTERNATIVE CHART WEEKENDING MAY 19TH, 2013 London-based four piece Clean Bandit is a new No.1 this week. Infectious and eclectic Mozart's House knocked sister trio Haim from the Top of the Chart. French house music duo Daft Punk saved their last week’s position. Get Lucky features Pharrell Williams on vocals and Nile Rodgers on guitar and off 'Random Access Memories', Daft Punk's comeback album out on 20 May. If there were no Michael Jackson, it would have been necessary to invent him… And God created Chris Brown. And he climbed three places this week at No.4. Good old-school style funk track, that even the king of pop would have proud of. American singer-songwriter Frank Ocean jumped into Top 5 from No.9 this week with the fourth single from his 2012 masterwork Channel Orange. "Lost" describes the protagonist's relationship with a cocaine-cooking girlfriend. The highest of seven new entries came from an Australian electronic music duo Empire of the Sun. Alive is the first single off their upcoming album ‘Ice on the Dune, follow up to 2008′s fantastical Walking on a Dream. 1. 16. Thanks for bringing Savages to my attention. Sort of cross bettween early U2 and Siouxsie & The Banshees. Cool stuff. Savages - Shut Up
  17. Hi John! Great No.1. Looks like disco are going back to the charts again. Don't you thinks so, John? ;) Nice to find Bowie at No.2 with classic track from "Aladdin Sane". Seems like you you've got not much fancy to "The Next Day", have you? Chris Brown wis going to be in Top 5 in my Chart too this week. Lovely song sounding like Michael Jackson during his "Bad" period, which is actually very good. :D Have a nice weekend, John!
  18. Hm...Didn't know that. Thanks. Infact somehow i missed Pull Tiger Tail. But Thumpers sound really promising. I think i should check that pevious Ratcliff and Hamson band too. If you like them i'll like them too :) Thank you. I also like your Chart! It's a pity you don't post it here often. kenukcsf Thank you. I'm glad that you like so many songs in my Chart! :)

Lovely Chart! Good movement from Chris Malinchak. Hope he'll be next No.1. Really deserves this.
  20. Thank you, John! Good point on ELO sound on Made it All. I also noticed that its arrangement reminds me of Jeff Lynne production.
  21. Great Chart, Martin! Lots of my faves here. Glad to see Axis by PSB among the new entries. Perhaps their best song in ages.
  22. Thank you, mate. I'm glad that my chart was useful. :)
  23. ANDREJ'S TOP50 ALTERNATIVE CHART WEEKENDING MAY 12TH, 2013 http://media.detailsofmylife.net/uploads/2013/02/HAIM-Falling.jpg Haim have celebrated second week at the Top of the Chart. Now after 3 weeks at No.2 and 2 weeks at No.1, Falling looks like a big contender to the No.1 of the whole 2013. However next week is going to be a tough one for California-based sister trio as Clean Bandit moved very close to the top. Clean Bandit is a London-based four piece band built around a string quartet mixing classical, hip-hop and electronica. So you think electronic music is boring? You think it’s stupid? You think it’s repetitive? No we don't. The video for Mozart’s House was filmed in Moscow, btw. Get Lucky, long-awaited new single by French house music duo Daft Punk, co-written by and featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers, debuted at No.3. It is the lead single from Daft Punk's fourth studio album Random Access Memories, duo’s comeback album out on 20 May. ‘Get Lucky’ establishes itself as a genuine disco record with recognisable clipped funky guitar of Nile Rodgers and loose, louche and swinging vocal of Pharrell Williams. At No.4 this week you may find a sensational comeback single from The Look. The Look are a UK pop band, who had a number six hit single in the UK Singles Chart in 1981, with I Am The Beat. Having started out as a progressive rock band called The Kreed, the foursome from Ely, Cambridgeshire moved to London and changed their name to The Look, which was a reference to British 1960's model Jean Shrimpton. I Am The Beat became a hit in the UK after BBC Radio 1 DJ Simon Bates chose this as single of the week for his morning show and played it daily. The follow up to this was 3 Steps Away and failed to reach the charts. Tonight and Feeding Time got a lot of airplay, but only Feeding Time peaked at No.50, became the last chart entry from the band. By 1983 The Look broke up when small Towerbell Records indie label closed the shop. Apparently they reformed in April 2005 and released an album titled Pop Yowlin. Made it All is the second single released off the band's new album Tunes and Stories. 1. (1) Falling (By HAIM) 9 wks 10.03.2013 9 wks Peak 1 38-19-15-7-4-2-2-2-1-1-->9 Wks 2. 24. Great Chart! Especially i'm impressed by Max Richter's entering Top 10. Never heard this before. Very nice classic reworking!
  25. You are welcome, John! :) And thank you too. I'm flattered that you thought of my Chart when you were listening to BS on the radio. "God Is Dead?" is not exactly a Paranoid-like track, but i can easily imagine this song on any of early Sabbath albums.
