Hi, John! My interest for the Charts a little bit decreased by 1998. So i don't remember some of those songs in your list. STAY by Bernard Butler is a great record! One of those i missed at the time, but it sure worth being a No.1! I remember and love Space, Radiohead, Robbie Williams (Angel is my favourite song from his repertoire), Verve, Catatonia (i loved both the song and The X-Files television series). And Lou Reed's '97 rendition of Perfect Day was really perfect!!!

It's hard to believe, but James Brown's I Got You (I Feel Good) has never reached even Top 20 (#29 in 1966, #52 in 1988).

Same here. I'm sort of disapponted with "Sonik Kicks". And even though Paul said that the band reunite is unlikely, i still believe they would. Especially Suede. Wish them to have at least a Top 10 hit. I'm also looking forward to hear new Stone Roses material. The Smiths new album would be just a tremendous event! Also: New Order Fleetwood Mac (some new material have already been announced for release in 2013)

I believe the decision to withdraw all the TOTP issues featuring DLT and JS from TV is absolutely stupid. Should we abandon all the documentaries featuring Hitler and Stalin then? It's a history. We should condemn them, but we can't just pretend that such men have never existed.

I love these guys! And i think Lonerism is the Album of The Year! "Mind Mischief", "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards" and "Sun's Coming Up" (it's so Lennon-esque!) are my fave tracks.

Thank you, Martin and John! :) Thank you very much for your kind words! :D Actually, what i was trying to obtain with my Charts from their beginning is making them as close to the vintage UK Charts as it could be. Those oldies classic tracks (as part of the TV commercial campaign of the times) were like a trademark of British Charts. Remember, Should I Stay Or Should I Go went to #1 in the UK in 1991 after it was used in a Levi's jeans television ad. In September 1990 The Joker, a song by the Steve Miller Band reached Number One after being used in television advertisement for Levi's too... And so on... Not that i need that oldies to fill a gap in my Chart. Quite the opposite, every week i've got more new releases that i like than vacant places in my Top 50. But i just thought it would be cool to make my Chart looks more diversified. Just like yours, John, which i love very much. :) It's just like in good old days, when pop, rockabilly, disco, reggae, crooners, new wave and heavy metal might have been presented in the same Chart. I miss this in today's Charts.

Hi, John! :) Quite a surprise No.1! I suppose it's a great choice for the final chart of the year! I've discovered Don't You Worry Child for myself recently. Good song. I'm sort of disappointed with the new Hurts song. Love their previous album a lot. EXILE 2013 sounds a bit different though. Happy New Year, John! :D

Thanks for your comments, John and Martin! :) Hope you're enjoying your holiday, John! Actually, when i'm away, i have a rest from music. It helps me to refresh my music perception, when i back home. Don't you feel that need sometimes? Not that i'm able to guard myself from music completely, cause it's on the beach, at the restaurants, in the shops... However i isolate myself from the songs that are in my Chart and it gives me the opportunity to reconsider them. Going back home for Christmas, John? ;)

Good point, John! :D I've never thought of the subject from that angle, but this idea seems to me quite reasonable. On a funny side i would just note that in the 60's they've had lyrics which were far easier to remember: "She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah..." or "Sha-La-La-La-Lee" or ... "Sha la la la la la la sha la la la la la la la" :D So you had some advantages over those people who were born some decades later :D

Great choice! Love your taste. Many of these songs will be in my yearly Chart too. Foals are at 2 in my Top 50 this week. Who by David Byrne & St Vincent is one of the Record of the Year to me (though it's got no higher than 17, but already spent 22 weeks in Top50 and still in). Under The Westway has been No.1 for 5 weeks. Jake Bugg's 'Two Fingers', Madness by Muse, Hold On by Alabama Shakes all were in Top 3 in my Charts in the course of 2012. Hi, John! Great chart as always! And "Disconnected" is fine song, though i prefer "Silenced By The Night", which i believe is one of the songs of the year. Keane are great melodists! And you're absolutely right on the point that they should have give 'em more time on the radio. Seems like you're not very impressed by The Killers' new single? ;)
