  1. I don't think the Muse love is necessarily reciprocated. It all goes back to Mr Bellamy (allegedly!) making a pass at Andy Nicholson's mum ages ago (while Andy was still in the band). I remember Andy's brother Rob not being too happy about it at the time.
  2. Agreed, and to be fair he was very complimentary about the band in the build up to the cover. PS www.arcticmonkeysuk.com is most definitely your friend at times like these. ;)
  3. Agreed, awful awful awful. The people who claim Turner can't sing should be forced to listen to this cover.
  4. First act ever to be nominated 2 years running! If I had the time, I would try and come up with the definitive list of ALL the records AM have broken. Here's another one: WPSIATWIN is the ONLY album to win Best album at the Brits and Mercury Prize. There's lodas more, of course!
  5. At least the album has overtaken the Kaisers to get to number 4 on the yearly list.

  8. (Jumps off nearest cliff.)
  9. You haven't heard Fluorescent Adolescent? :o Have you been living on the Moon or summat?
  10. My God, there's actually an Indie band in the Top 10 of 2007!
  11. Have a guess how many top 10 UK singles superstar Sting has had over the years? No cheating, lol. OK, silly question. Answer = 1!
  12. To put all this into some sort of context, The Killers have had just 3 Top 10 UK singles and no number 1s (out of 7 releases). The second single from Sam's Town reached 15 in the UK singles chart. Nuff said.
  13. bellboys posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
    Arctic Monkeys?
  14. It's listed twice, at 9 and 12. Combined sales make it number 2, 1,000 behind Rihanna. Edit: Perhaps more importantly, due to FA the album is up to 2 on iTunes, so I'm suspecting a decent increase in album sales this week.
  15. Plastic Tramp has leaked - can be found in all the usual places.
  16. Everything about it was just soooo wrong IMHO.
  17. Is it just me or the lads playing the promotion game a bit more these days? http://www.tvgenius.co.uk/search.html?tvgS...=arctic+monkeys
  18. I think being name checked by the legend that is Shirley Bassey won't exactly have hindered the sales of AM songs.
  19. WPSIATWIN is also in Amazon's Top 10 bestellers list (they have rather cleverly reduced it to £4.97, of course).
  20. Top 20 on iTunes tomorrow morning? And I'm assuming you are too young to remember Eric Idle singing the theme tune to One Foot In The grave, Rooney? If I was Mr Idle I'd sue MCR - exactly the same tune!
  21. Mr Rascal may just make an appearance tonight. http://www.nme.com/news//29143
  22. Wouldn't it be great if it was Love Machine? It won't be, of course. Talking of the accoustic set today, there's a good thread about it here (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) http://www.hostmybb.com/phpbb/viewtopic.ph...p;mforum=arctic
  23. The Monkeys are actually perfect to headline Glasto. You know for a fact they will be tight as the proverbial, there will be a mass singalong during many songs in the set and even the people who claim not to like them will probably grudgingly have a great time, lol.
  24. Agreed. Of course, I'm biased, but there aren't many bands in the World who could cram that much quality into 80 mins! Actually, there aren't ANY bands.
  25. The set list won't be a million miles from this one IMHO. They appear to be relaxing their attitude to encores. Anyway, it's on BBC2 tomorrrow at 11pm. 'The View From The Afternoon' 'Brianstorm' 'Still Take You Home' 'Dancing Shoes' 'From The Ritz To The Rubble' 'Teddy Picker' 'D is For Dangerous' 'This House Is a Circus' 'Fake Tales Of San Francisco' 'Balaclava' 'Old Yellow Bricks' 'You Probably Couldn't See For The Lights But You Were Staring Straight At Me' 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor' 'If You Were There, Beware' 'Fluorescent Adolescent' 'Mardy Bum' 'Do Me A Favour' 'When the Sun Goes Down' 'Leave Before the Lights Come On' ENCORE 'Plastic Tramp' Crikey! '505' 'A Certain Romance'
