What Would You Like The Singles To Be Off FWN?
FA has just just appeared on the B-List on Radio 1s playlist. Even more exciting IMHO is Reverend and the Makers' Heavyweight Champion of the World has been A-listed!! :yahoo: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chart/playlist.shtml#blist

Total UK Sales So Far
I'm amazed at some people commenting on how 'poorly' this album has sold (not in this thread, but on Haven's chart thread in particular). Seems like there are a few people who are almost praying for them to crash and burn, which is a bit sad IMHO. This was never going to sell as many as the debut in the first few weeks but to be number 5 in the YTD album sales chart after 4 weeks would be classed as an amazing achievement for any other band, let alone an Indie one.

Very interesting....
I wouldn't be surprised if Helders makes an appearance.

Very interesting....
They have apparently already shot the video for FA (with the bloke who starred in WTSGD video).

Radio 1 Playlist
Reverend and the Makers on the B-list. Happy with that, tbh.

Reverend & The Makers - Heavyweight Champion Of The World
Number 26 on iTunes and, I believe, number 48 on the official midweek chart on downloads alone. Pretty good. Physical release 28/5/07.

Total UK Sales So Far
FA seems to be getting a lot of airplay already. It's got definite number 1 potential (just as long as they don't release it when 2 corporate divas decide to release a duet or summat).

Total UK Sales So Far
No idea, tbh. They could be for yet another EP, or they may be shelved until the new album. Or they could be shelved for ever. I read a review by some Yank the other day stating that in their (current) 75 min show they more or less exhausted all their songs. It's a total nonsense, of course, I reckon AM have approx 50 songs they could play at any one time.

Total UK Sales So Far
I actually think there will be 3 chart-eligible singles relaesed from this album, which should help, then of course headlining Glastonbury won't exactly harm album sales. But the great thing about AM is you never can predict what they will do next. Turner has already got a few songs ready for recording, so who knows what will come of them?

FWN Hits Number 1 On US Album Chart...
Down to 41 on Hits Daily Double. Not entirely unexpected, tbh.

The Bakery Song - it really does exist! Listen to it here...
Absolutely stunning live accoustic versions of the 'mythical' Bakery Song, Only Ones Who Know (perfect stripped down version) and FA. Bit of an interview as well. Recommended. http://minnesota.publicradio.org/display/w...arctic_monkeys/

FWN Hits Number 1 On US Album Chart...
Sorry, forgot to say Digital Chart  Fantastic all the same. http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/charts/char...+Digital+Albums

2nd Single...?
Got Xmas single written all over it. Not that they would ever be so crass as to release a Xmas single...would they? PS 505 would probably be the 'break out' track for them IMHO. It's like nothing they have done before and would attract a whole new army of fans. IMHO.

The Kooks Speak Out About Arctic Monkeys
I think he was 17 when they recorded that and it's just plain weird hearing him sing in that pseudo-American accent, isn't it? It can be found on www.arctic-monkeys.com , btw.

The Kooks Speak Out About Arctic Monkeys
Strange thing for them to come out with, though, isn't it? It may well be true but it makes The Kooks just sound a bit immature, really, don't you think? I enjoyed their songs at first but bloody 'ell, that singer's voice has really started to grate on me now. I have some sympathy for the people who criticise Turner's voice because he hasn't got what you would call a 'proper' singing voice at all. Thing I love about Turner's 'singing' style is the fact that he isn't trying to sing by putting on a silly voice like the Kooks bloke does (Borell's another one of those who's voice sounds so 'fake'). I think this is the reason why Turner invariably sounds spot on live - he's not trying to be someone he's not.

I hope it doesn't wear the carpet out.

Reverend & The Makers - Heavyweight Champion Of The World
A bit of trivia: Reverend (Jon McClure) co-wrote Old Yellow Bricks on Arctic Monkeys' new album (his brother, Chris, was the bladdered bloke on the front cover of the debut album)

Jools Holland - 4th May
Almost. Substitute When the Sun Goes Down for Mardy Bum. :D
