iTunes Chart: February 2011 (II)
The fact that GaGa is down to 3 HAS to be massively significant here!

Adele - Someone Like You
Do you really think TT can get back to number 1 in the album charts?

Adele - Someone Like You
I'm bracing myself for a slew of wannabes warbling/murdering SLY at the X factor auditions. Puke.

I'm not so sure about this one doing that, TBH. Time will tell...

Adele - Someone Like You
It's got that all important momentum, I feel. It's clear that Adele has been the subject of many a workplace conversation today and more people will be hitting itunes after work. Theres' loads of time left and if this momentum is continued anything is possible! COME ON, ADELE!!!

Bloody hell, this is incredible! I would imagine apart from Adele at the moment, the happiest person in the Uk would probably be Adele's bank manager! PS The public has spoken. Like I've been predicting for the last week or so, obviously not eligible for any award, so she got one song/appearance and she stole the show completely

Yes, it's not about GaGa v Jessie now, it's about GaGa v Adele (and Adele's song hasn't even been released as a single!!). T'would be amazing if Adele could snatch that number 1 spot. Come on!!! PS I've been told the album and live version sales are added together to calculate chart position. Is that true?

Good question. No idea. Certainly the live Brits one seems to be taking sales from the album version one, that's a massive rise from 107 late last night!

Not to mention 2 albums in the top 5 also! I would imagine her bank manager will be absolutely delighted!

Personally, I think Rihanna's backing track tonight deserves to be up there on iTunes. She made One direction look unaided.

Ooohh, how amazing if Adele could beat GaGa to number 1 on Sunday. What a victory for talent over hype it would be.

Adele's special special special Brit Performance (Corden was so crying after this, as was Adele and probably half of the viewing public!)

I genuinely believe they will have changed the running order after the incredible reaction to SLY on Jools Holland. It would make sense as well as it's a ballad as opposed to the up tempo Rolling in the Deep, it creates more of a balance to release SLY next. TBH, there are actually 4 or 5 potential number 1 singles on '21' - an embarrassment of aural riches in other words.

I think Corden was visibly moved by the performance. The big blancmange was misty eyed afterwards. Read on Haven that's SLY is up to 7 on iTunes! It was an absolutely stunning performance (and Adele also got very emotional after).

Lady Gaga vs Jessie J
:o Now wouldn't that be something to behold  . Although she'll steal the show with that song, I think it will have a bigger impact on her album sales than her single song sales.

Another fantastic youtube video - she sings Sam Cook's 'That's It, I Quit, I'm Movin' On' especially for her 'greatest US fan', Randy (it's not on the set list but she sings it for Randy as she's noticed he's been singing every single lyric throughout the show). Her interraction with Randy (and her asking him if he knows the meaning of the word in England) is just so funny!

'Take It All' (from '21') sung live 20 months ago! At her headline gig at the 17,000 capacity Hollywood Bowl.

Adele singing Etta James' 'Fool That I Am'. Bliss. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgrL5P-DaiM...feature=related Edit: How clever is this video? Adele and Etta James duetting (but not really) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOkrOPjvq4c

The singer she's most like will mean nothing to the vast majority on here (and neither should it as she's a black American blues singer from a different era), Etta James. But brought up to date, if you see what I mean. I genuinely can't say there's any singer currently who is like her. IMO, at the moment, I think Adele, along with K D Lang, is the finest live female singer in the world. Have a look on youtube there's loads of stuff to view. A fine example of how she emotes a song live: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_Zs7XS3XUo

She's absolutely stitched on to be a special guest on X Factor this year! She's now reached the A-list, she loves the show (watches it at Alan Carr's house, apparently) and when Simon Cowell told her he loved her album (19) and her voice on Xtra Factor a couple of years ago she almost melted!! PS She's apparently singing SLY at The Brits tomorrow so my hunch is that's gonna be the second single, with Set Fire after that.

 I would be reasonably confident to says it's definitely just you. Their music has nothing whatsoever in common to my ears. Are you sure you meant Paloma Faith?

I really hope this extreme success doesn't change Adele and I genuinely believe it won't. I was alerted to this youtube performance of Hometown Glory today. It's at The Roxy in LA in 2008. When singing the song in the US, Adele tends to omit the '$h!t' lyric. She does the same here but someone in the crowd decides to sing it for her. What happens next is just fantastic. She's such a laugh. The fun starts approx 1.50 in.
