  1. Duffy has flopped so hard I bet her and her record company are still in shock...
  2. Really sad to see,TBH.
  3. Van Morrison (runs and hides).
  4. If she released the live version that would be number 1 for weeks...

Is it safe to come out or is the bitch slapping going to continue all day?
  6. I'll stick my neck out here and say '21'is a cert to debut at number 1. She's got the momentum there (she's promo-ing for the next few weeks with loads of big TV show performances still to come), she's currently number 1 in music bestsellers on Amazon US, 14 on itunes (19 is unbelievably at number 25 so that confirms she's picking up brand new fans). Plus Perez is a humongous fan (love him or loathe him he's important if you want momentum) This will happen and I think the amount sold (compared to the pathetic amount sold recently by number 1 albums in the US) will shock people. RITD I'm not as confident about as the US singles chart is dominated by tweeny/teeny garbage nursery rhyme pop and Adele definitely appeals to a more mature audience. Time will tell. http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/music/ref=sv_m_5
  7. The problem is he's going to make her look even more emaciated if there's ever a video for this rumoured duet. http://justanothersong.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/cee_lo_green.jpg

Agreed, it's an absolutely amazing song. Used on the Sky HD ad last summer and caused a big reaction (if the many posts on the youtube vid were anything to go by - 'thumbs up if sky sent you here' etc)

It's weird because I genuinely believe Hurts have all the makings of being a huge pop band but they are largely overlooked here (although I believe they are pretty big in some European countries). I genuinely have no idea why they haven't taken off here (my wife tells me the singer is also very cute, lol). Their album is chock full of pop anthems and if one of the popular boy bands had released Stay it would have been number 1 for weeks! It's almost the perfect pop song IMO. Any ideas?
  10. It seems to me that '19''s sales at the moment confirm Adele is picking up massive numbers of new fans with '21' and they are obviously deciding to investigate further. Of course, the X Factor helped sales of '19' as well. I wonder how many X Factor hopefuls will be warbling their version of 'Someone Like You' this year? My bet would be loads of 'em...plus I would imagine she's a shoo in to be a special guest at some point in the show (she's a massive fan) and so the sales keep on going. But I do agree, it would be very long odds indeed.

Yes, 2011 is going to be Adele's year. I just hope it doesn't changer her - she's so down to earth and bloody hilarious!

Rumer will never be a singles artist, she's much more an album artist. And the album is still doing very well, especially considering its totally out of date genre. I'm really pleased how it's stuck around.

Interesting that '19' is out of the Top 5. Blimey. Could it be another 100,000+ week?
  14. I wonder what the odds would be on Adele finishing the year with both her albums in the Top 10 YTD list?
  15. Incredible, isn't it? And the amazing thing is its sales are increasing and it has risen 2 places in a week (and currently outselling Rihanna!). Unless Plan B has a successful Brits I reckon '19' will be 4th in the YTD chart by the end of the month (she's cut the lead he had by 17000 in the last week!).
  16. Depending on how well Plan B's album goes at The Brits (if he wins it there will a big boost, if he doesn't there won't be), Adele's '19' could be up to number 4 by the end of February! :o

Excellent. Thanks for that. Any idea how many copies of '21' were sold?
  19. Love her or loathe her (I genuinely haven't made up my mind yet so this isn't a fan being blind here), Jessie J will walk it to number 1. Clare Maquire? Not a chance of number 1 now, like someone said earlier she will probably have a Hurts-like run. I actually think Beady Eye will provide Jessie J with her stiffest competition (but she will still walk it).
  20. Decent interview with Adele in which she gives more details about the break up and especially the part it played in her writing Someone Like You, surely one of the best break up songs of the last decade. http://www.blackbookmag.com/article/adele-...-album/24664/P1 PS Just back from my local Asda and there's a large empty space where the Adele CDs were the other day when I went in. This is going to be huuugggeee...
  21. At the moment, Adele casts a giant shadow over all the others in that list. And before anyone suggests it, that is nothing to do with her weight. She's just so far ahead of the others at the moment it's scary. No finer live singer in the World at the moment. Leon may be arguably technically a better vocalist (I'm still yet to be convinced) but, my God, Adele's live performance tramples all over Leona with its soulfulness and an added bonus is she has a great personality (whereas Leona doesn't actually possess any personality at all). All IMO, of course.

Her management team appear to be gearing up for the US launch very well - she's got major TV shows lined up leading up to the album launch date - Letterman, Ellen, Today, Jimmy Kimmel etc. Plus Rolling in the Deep is 'prominently featured' in a major new sci fi film being released on 18/2. She's also on the cover of Billboard this week. Good write up about it all here: http://www.billboard.com/features/adele-th...005015182.story
  23. Your prediction has experienced a fairly inauspicious start ;)
  24. I reckon one will be a Beatles cover. B)
  25. At the moment - Calm Like You but it will no doubt change before the end of the week, lol...
