Lots of reasons. They all stem from 2001 when... 1. Mariah didn't sell and Jennifer did 2. Jennifer used a sample for her song 'I'm Real' that Mariah was going to use for her comeback 3. Jennifer rush-recorded a hip-hop ballad with Ja Rule when Sony heard Mariah wanted to do the same

3. Mariah fans steal things but only with Mariah's best interests at heart

TMZ caught up with porn star Mary Carey last night outside of Koi restaurant, where Mary was knocking back a few to get over the papers filed against her by near-namesake Mariah Carey. Apparently, Mimi doesn't like getting confused with Mary and has opposed Mary's request to trademark the name. Mary says Mariah is "Crazy! She's Crazy! Mary's my name!" While TMZ cameras rolled, Mary fielded a phone call informing her that one of her spurned "stalkers" has issued a press release in support of Mariah. Her bubbly attitude seemed to burst. Norah Jones. She'll probably have one of the biggest first-week sales of the year (at least until Christmas makes sales go mad) so I think she'll easily be the biggest record this month.
