  1. Soon it will be #1 and then she will move on to the next single and we need never worry about TMB again

Beat me to it. I didn't think this song would do this well but I am very pleased.

I agree with all of this post. I like both artists; I've seen them both in concert - I'd love them both to be #1. Leona because it would be a rare British #1 and because I love the song Mariah because she is my favourite artist ever and she'll add to her record number of chart-toppers I'm not fussed what happens.
  4. I have 26-69 on CD. And some of the mid 90s ones on tape as well.
  5. These contestants are going to murder her songs. My favourites are Jason & Brooke and they don't have the chops for them. Unless they do folky versions of big ballads which might be fun. I can imagine Carly screaming 'Without You' Ramiele singing 'Can't Let Go' without understanding a single word David A doing 'Hero' and the judges saying he's the new, gayer Mariah And I don't like imagining these things
  6. Yeah I can't imagine either of the hosts being that receptive to her - or the studio audience (unless they're picked for the guest especially). This sounds like a bad idea.

I was a never. It was on Now 65 so I didn't have to buy it. But every so often I hear it and remember how much I like it. So I could have bought it any time.

I thought this was going to be a poll. I would have voted 'no'. Though it's not Duffy's fault, she sold fewer singles than Leona. I think it's daft that Leona's at #2 and #25 with the same song. That one track's sales count towards the combined sales and one doesn't. Just daft. I have similar issues with the new rules about 2CD albums where Amy can be on the charts twice with the same record. Daft.

I reckon the "dance" will involve her touching her body. More than is necessary. Can't wait.

Or she will hunt him down...

I sure hope so. And 57 is a fantastic start.

Melt Away - she only goes mental very briefly and then the song ends.

Call On Me is a fantastic comparison. New Mariah is as lifeless as I found that song. I really don't like this AT ALL. I've been a Mariah fan since I was nine and this is such a let-down. It doesn't really go anywhere and it could be by anyone. That said, It's Like That didn't blow me away first listen but grew a lot. [i don't think this will chart as well as that song btw] And Kelly - you must remember - that the two leaked singles from Mimi were far from the best songs on it.

I always liked the name 'That Chick' and I liked the cover. This new title is awful. Though I love her and will forgive most things, I take great issue with this title. a. We know she's not into science. Even if she was, the pun is lame. b. When she puts the tequilla weight back on, there's going to endless 'MC Squared' headlines. Yet more bad puns will come of it.

I love downloads. I'd rather pay 80p for a song than £2-£5 for it. And I'm sure record labels would rather people were paying 80p for a song than nothing. That's why iTunes is so successful because people were willing to pay for music but not *that* much. And it's not LEGAL downloads that killed the singles market. It's illegal downloading. Before the chart rules were changed, and downloads were allowed to chart, single sales were dreadful.

She's made me wait too long. I've been listening to Morrissey this week. This can't be good. I want a Mariah album now please. I'd have settled for a soundtrack - a few songs with shoddy rappers - anything.

Without You hasn't featured yet so it's top 700. I reckon it'll appear soon as some big hits (Mmmbop, Back For Good) have started popping up.
  22. I sort of want this all to be true because they're quite good lines Mariah didn't say. Shame.

In My Arms is my favourite song on the album - and my favourite Kylie has done in years and years. But Wow is probably going to do better so I'm torn.
  24. I agree completely with the sentiment but not the figures. By my count, the Sugababes have had 14 top 10 hits. Do you mean 18 top 20 hits?
  25. Back For Good is the 100th best-selling single of all time with 968,000 according to Haven's list. I don't know Patience's exact sales but I doubt it's close to that. I'd guess it's their second biggest though.
