heres a video of them , this time they sang lot better, and they have more people: rby06avrdUk they sing definitely better in that program and is Live, the nurse sings way better than the womans in the festival you can hear her sweet voice in the tune perfectly....they have more portuguese character in this one they showed a portuguese fireman (which sometimes they also play in firemans bands with percussions), the soldier of April (a important character in the carnation revolution against dictatorship), the nurse, the black one is the Retornado character (which mean the portuguese who were expelled from ex-colonies in Africa in the 60's/70's) and the Zé Povinho (the most typical character created in the first years of bad republic, meaning the people)....would love they could send this version.... and in a interview to a news channel they said that are asking to be interviewed by BBC and Greek channels...and that the Portuguese channel RTP secured them that the song will not be disqualified....

heres a translation I found: THE STRUGGLE IS JOY Sometimes you find yourself feeling blue Sometimes you find yourself feeling wary Sometimes you find yourself feeling alarmed Sometimes you find yourself feeling despair By day or by night The struggle is joy And the people moves forward shouting out on the street! Of little use is the belt always tight (this expression of belt tight is about your own economical situation the more the belt is tight the less money you save from your wages) Of little use is nagging around Of little use is always looking sullen Of little use is anger for helping you. By day or by night Struggle is joy And the people moves forward shouting out on the street ! Bring on the bread, bring on the cheese, bring on the wine Come old man, come young man and little boy Come celebrate this situation And let us sing against reaction! (reaction means the Governments/The Systems) Bring on the bread, bring on the cheese, bring on the wine Come on old man, come on young man and little boy There are plenty of people warning: watch out There are plenty of people wanting to shut you up There are plenty of people leaving you resentful There are plenty of people selling you air itself By day or by night Struggle is joy And the people moves forward shouting out on the street ! Bring on the bread, bring on the cheese, bring on the wine Come old man, come young man and little boy Come celebrate this situation And let us sing against reaction! Bring on the bread, bring on the cheese, bring on the wine Come on old man, come on young man and little boy.....

"Homens da Luta (english possible translation: The Men of the Struggle) is a Portuguese improvisational comedy and musical street show, composed by Vasco Duarte (Falâncio) and Jel (Neto). Their songs are a parody of songs sung at the time of the post- 1974 democratic revolution, and the characters played are caricatures of the revolutionary singers of that time. They often use the term struggle to invoke the slogans that became famous during the revolutionary era, slogans such as “a luta continua” (english possible translation: “the struggle must go on”). "

This is another Portuguese music beyond Fado, and exists since 70's... lol why people complain about the winner?? people dont realize that Portugal will never win? so we send a song like this just to joke (like spain sent in 2008 and it was next to Senhora do Mar) or not depends on you, now if this is worst than those metal/rock monsters finland won years ago then I dont want to discuss your awfull and boring tastes....accept it and respect it! For us Portuguese is easy to understand the song thats why it wons, now for foreign people they have to understand it, the music by itself is typically portuguese which reminds those music against the dictatorship, this one is also a song against the system/governments, and what we call - music of the people...its a kind of a "complain" about this crisis, etc etc...thats why you see then dressed in portuguese typical characters that made part of the revolution of April against dictatorship.... They have been around years ago, when ministers/politics are in the street they go there saying trues about their political way of leading a country/council .... here they are in the Republic of Bananas that made 100 years old last year, complaining about what Republic did to the country: GO0NjqS84_Q&feature=related :) this was their song for eurovision 2010: uEvQ_LGYYqc&feature=related Another song from them : fiq-GQF6A0M&playnext=1&list=PL6290C45B4258CC98 As you hear the song is typically portuguese So all this is about the rich becaming richer and the poor becaming poorer with this global system and crisis (its their message to fight against it) .... and lets agree - this will be the first social protest on stage in eurovision :P

theres going a petition for people who complains about the results of the song, and the way the votes from RTP juri were proceded.....the petition has already more than 1500 signatures in just one day......I think there was some irregulatities on the votation , we had Juri that dont have nothing to do with music some were journalists, RTP didnt respect a rule of the festival.

yeap I listened right now and I have to say, we will be in the last places with this ballad, but well not every dancy songs means a top 10, remember spain last year, I saw a lot of marketing and publicity of the singer a lot fans and the song was in last place what I laughed  what I liked more in Catarina song was the portuguese guitar which is very hard playing, I played this instrument a time ago, but i didnt understood the guy with guitar, he was dancing with it?? because its impossible playing like that and moving/dancing a lot at the same time...... the back vocals was really bad...... the dancers and coreography saved the performance plus the sound of the instruments. but she didnt won so, another waste opportunity, like last year, the problem is that I loved both Flor-de-lis and Luciana. 2009 Oyxu81MFgnU 2010 jpn6pazqZVs
  20. but the juries based on what to give such votes??? I mean how can a jury give more points do Azerbaijan and give so few to Sweden??
  21. Odaisul posted a post in a topic in Eurovision Song Contest
how can Sweeden was behind Azerbeijan??? Spain had so much marketing and was almost the last ones of the lists lololololol well besides the unfair results (like always) this was the best Eurovision I ever saw, the stage was really awesome, and it helped to make more difficult to chose the best performance......well I though it gonna be very fiercy, but unfortunately, norway won without justice.
  22. dont you know that Portuguese is also in Latin America?? and they understand Portuguese there, more than in spain.
  23. My favs are Sweden,Portugal and Bosnia..........
  24. WTF are you talking about?? I didnt vote because the question is so stupid, damn you are so pathetic........ Why making a spanish version if its similar with Portuguese?? I never saw a portuguese version of any spanish song, and why we always have to understand others instead others understanding us?? And why are the portuguese so stupid by not giving value to their own language? portuguese is the 5th language in the world and 3rd in occident, more than french, german and italian,so why we have to sing in English?? are you drunk or take drugs?? This kind of thinking irritates me,specially when cames from portuguese themselfs.
  25. I said from the beginning the song from Bosnia was very good.
