Make A Scene (new album)
Check Sophierazzi for a brand new leak - "DID I?" Exclusive to Sophierazzi only. Don't forget to say thanks It's a song from the Straight To The Heart sessions, which is not going to make it to the album. Imagine the quality of the album if a song like this didn't make it.

Make A Scene (new album)
Track by Track: Straight To The Heart From Gay Times Maganize Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer - This one was with the Freemasons. I think it's quite a theatrical love song really. I was playing a bit of a diva but it's quite fun. It's one of those things where you've got to take on a slight alter-ego. Bittersweet - It's a genuine raw emotion when something's intoxicated you and you can't really do anything about it. When we've been doing it acoustically it's actually quite romantic. When it's got all the bells and whistles it sounds a bit more saucy. Off And On - A track with Calvin Harris, it was originally written with Roisin Murphy for her record but for one reason or another she felt it didn't fit. Ordinarily I’m a bit squeamish about taking on songs that I didn't write. But I think you've always got to think that you can bring something to it. Revolution - Working with Cathy Dennis was brilliant, I'm a big fan of hers. It's probably one of my tougher songs. It will be a single, it has a different sound to it. I don't know if I rap exactly in the verses but it's quite sort of aggressive and monotone there. It's with this guy called Greg Kurstin who's a really good producer in LA and Cathy does things that you don't think of doing, like in this song I name check 'Murder On The Dancefloor' Starlight - I did this with Richard X and Hannah Robinson and it's one of my favourites. I love it in pop music when it's got a soft of wistful sadness like Giorgio Moroder's always really good at that. This song has definitely got that feel. Magic - Again with Hannah and Richard, and another love song. Sometimes when I'm writing songs I get imagines in my head and with this one I'm always riding a horse, it sounds a bit like I'm galloping somewhere. In the video I've got to do it on horseback. Synchronised - One of a couple of slower numbers which is about trying to get back in tune with a lover you but you probably won't ever do it, so that's got sadness too. I'm always drawn to sad things. It’s actually really hard to write a happy song I find. I have tried it on many occasions and you do achieve it sometimes but it's actually that sadness and heartache and unrequited love have got built-in interest I suppose, a bit more depth. Cut Straight To The Heart - Another slow one, I did this with the lovely Ed Harcourt, a really talented singer/songwriter. This is a really melodic song. He's one of the best lyricists I've ever worked with. I know a lot of people who are good with melody, I think that's one of my strong points. But lyrics, it's just really tough to get a lyric that does exactly what you want it to but he's really good at that. Dial My Number - A song about a text stalker that I have. I've never replied to them but they send me these texts, sending me jokes, sending me my lyrics. Not particularly sinister, but kind of annoying. So it started off as an idea of a song about someone that you're saying "you might have my number but it doesn't mean that anything's gonna happen, so don't get your hopes up." Homewrecker - Another song with a weird subject matter - you can probably guess what Homewrecker's about! (laughs) It's about girls who flirt with your boyfriend right under your nose which is very annoying. And sometimes they're really just oblivious, they're just so happy to have the attention that they don't really realise that they've crossed the line and they'll go "Yeah but she's just a good friend" and you're like "Yeah but I saw the way she laughed at your jokes and I saw the way she put her hand on your arm when she was telling a story and it's not on". Not on! Under Your Touch - A song which is quite a saucy love song really. It's just about fancying someone, which is always a good subject matter. Scene - I did this one with Joe from Metronomy. Actually, Scene was a very instrumental track and it really set the tone. It was written quite early on. It was quite quirky and different and it's just made me think that maybe I've got to try some new stuff here, try something just a bit to push me a bit I suppose so it was a really important track to write. (I know Not Giving Up On Love isn't mentioned here, but Sophie says it's on the album. No reason to worry. It’s a fairground dance track co-written with the Nervo twins and produced by Armin Van Buuren, who is the world’s #1 DJ. It’s a very melodic song)

I'm sure those tracks aren't in order, no need to worry yet. The mag will be out on May 10th, in case anyone wants to read what she says about each track.

Off And On (second single)
Off & On on the album is going to be a new mix. Don't worry. Also, she isn't sure if it's this or Bittersweet. She was on Total Access yesterday when she said Revolution is going to be a single too, but she isn't sure if its the 2nd or the third. Maybe the label will decide which one gets to be a single after seeing how Bittersweet performs.

Bittersweet (new single)
Yep, 2 track CD single. The b-side is Sophia Loren. Although, iTunes gives you the digital single with all the remixes. AND, watch the making of the video on my blog - google up Sophierazzi, you'll find it there (buzzjack didn't let me post the link here)

Bittersweet (new single)
that is an awesome cover.... :yahoo: :w00t: it goes perfectly with the melancholic feel of the song. I hope the rest of the album is black-and-white too.... with different colours of paint splashes of courses.

Bittersweet (new single)
^^ yep, it self references Murder On The Dancefloor... neat huh! Not Sophie's idea though...

Make A Scene (new album)
Thank you! ;) By the way, Sophie performed two new songs on The Album Chart Show... there's a couple of reviews and one LQ recording on my blog.. 1. Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer 2. Revolution - supoosed to be louder and bigger and Bittersweet 3. Under Your Touch - i told you i was unsure about Magic even though Richard X mentioned it on his site. This could be in place of Magic. Or Sophia Loren 4. Bittersweet 5. Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)

Make A Scene (new album)
If you guys need some more details, here you go Revolution is a nice fuzzy electro pop number produced by Greg Kurstin again. It name checks Murder On The Dancefloor, according to Sophie. Which probably means there's self referencing happening in this song. Kinda like Lady GaGa's Monster where she says "I wanna JUST DANCE" Not Giving Up On Love is a fairground dance anthem. Someone who has heard the song already confirms that its chorus is massive. The rest of the song is very melodic, very Sophie. Dial My Number is the danciest song on the album. Make A Scene has a difficult rhythm, its a grower. You can say its like the You Get Yours of shoot from the hip, not sonically, but theoritically. It's going to be the "what the f**k" moment on the album. Magic was recorded when Off & On and Heartbreak were recorded, its an older song.

Sophie's Gay 80's Club
No offense, but why only a gay club...i mean, she could probably open an 80's theme club and not call it a gay club...... there's tons of people who actually like Sophie but are ashamed to admit it cos she's a gay icon, and they don't want to be branded as gay. Its probably one of the demerits of being in the UK.... you won't be accepted outside. I mean, here, people love her music, but when they get to know she's a gay icon, they'll have second thoughts about her songs.... thats unfair. There's no problem if gay people love her, no one is against that. But the press should probably stop calling her a gay icon. Straight men like me do love her. I think she looks absolutely gorgeous! And she has a fantastic voice. She is one of the very few popstars i listen to, cos she has real talent. And i wouldn't appreciate bad promotion or labelling to affect her growth as a popstar world over... (once again, no offense intended)

Sophie the new face of Rimmel?
Kate is a sewer rat....she's squint, with a horrible dental set and her nose reminds me of a pug that vodafone uses for its ads here...lol... i'm so glad they picked Sophie to front a few products....sad that she isn't replacing Kate!!

Off & On [New Single?]
It wouldn't really be a big deal even if she did release that as a single. Personally, i would love it and all her fans would go out and buy/download (itunes) it, but for that song to become a top 10 hit, i think Calvin needs to do something more than just computer generated sounds..... Then again, Sophie's perfect vocals on the song could do the magic.....:P

Introduce Yourself To Sophie's Forum
Hey I'm Kaushik.....little late to join, but i've been reading these boards for sometime. I've been an ardent fan of Sophie's ever since i first heard GOY on the radio. That was the first Sophie song to be released here in India. MOTD and MGTBOM followed later. I've been in love with her voice ever since. I used to run a website called "Soph-ology" which probably still exists, i've not updated it since ages, really, cos i don't have the time anymore. I can easily call myself Sophie's number one fan, and i think people at fascination know that as well, but i wouldn't really want to do that, cos there's tons of people out there who love Sophie..... Anyway, I'm really glad i finally joined this forum, so...hello all....!! :) Kaushik, 20, India...

What Sophie Song Are You Listening To
I have a different version of "Murder On The Dancefloor" which starts with "Its muder"..then the reverse cymbal sound and the song begins. I'm listening to that... This song has so many versions. A properly ended version with a bang in the end instead of the original fade out, which Sophie uses on ALL of her live shows. Then there's the extended mix. And the billions of other remixes..... I think the best two are Parky & Birchy Mix and Danny D Remix

Make A Scene (new album)
Where did you read about "I Still Believe In Magic"?? I've tried searching for it on ASCAP and BMI. Unfortunately, none of the confirmed titles (i.e. Heartbreak Make Me Dance, Off & On, Calling It Love) are registered as yet. Sophie was working with Richard X, Groove Armada, Freemasons, Dimitri, Greg Alexander and Liam for this album. The Richard X and Groove Armada songs were recorded for her GH, and she was "happy" with it. Thats probably why she's going to use them for her fourth album. I'm hope she uses a few rejects from TTLF era.
