  1. It should be called russionvision!! lol
  2. I wasn't aware that Russia was a european country, oh yes it isn't!!! So has it become "The eurovision and a few extra countries for good measure contest??"
  3. The comment I made about most famous music coming from the UK and America, its actaully a fact. If you name say Madonna or Charlotte Church or George Michael pretty much all the whole world will know who you are talking about! The guy who won eurovision is not well know apart from some of europe. He will not be known in 10 years time, hes a one hit wonder. Whereas names such as Brittney Spears and Amy Winehouse will never be forgotten and their names will always be remembered!! Even if they do end up going to an early grave!
  4. What I am posting it totally logical, although people have a right to an opinion. I guess everyone has different tastes in music, and alot of music today is alot of pants to be frank. I think music ins't experimental enough and sounds as if artists don't know what direction to take. It is like music is stuck in a rut and people who are in the charts who have very little talent are getting through. I think people are less fussy when it comes to music, Lily Allen for example is average and all these wanna be r and b artists in America. They are the types of people who chavs like, with their cavvy r and b music on their mobile phones, thinking they are cool!!
  5. Conor - your the only person talking sense on here. Ski - Terry is up to date with modern music, he has to be! He's not the only one who doesn't know about modern European music, thats because its not worth listening to. As for him being born in ireland, he has tarvelled the world, he hasn't always lived in ireland!! You make him sound like a hermit! Being 70 doesn't mean hat hes out of touch, probably the complete opposite, more experince!!
  6. I think the fact is that even if we do produce an amazing song we still wouldnt win or come in the top 10. I think we are disliked that much!! So if there are any countries out there who like the UK, let yourself be known!! Go on, how many of you main land europeans like us birts?? Prove me wrong!!
  7. The UK where much better last year(especially for an island), What do you mean by this?? Being an island has nothing to do with it. The UK has produced alot of sucessful music since popualr music began. If we did so much better last year then why didn't we get higher up the board?? Leona Lewis is a prime example, shes number one in America, a very hard country to crack!
  8. SkiBaBopBaDopBop - so you are saying that terry wogan has no knowledge of music?? Even though he has been in broadcasting for 40 years?? I think you are deluded!! What music do you like?? The cheeky girls by any chance??
  9. I think the thing is that europe takes it so seriously, they don't have a sense of humour!! I don't see it as a music contest, I see it as a popularity contest and feel saddened byt the fact the europe does not like us. I think the UK is an amazing counrty and I feel proud to call myself British. Europe dislikes us as we went to war with America, as our points started to go down when we shipped our troops out. We do so much for europe, our government have allowed more foreigners in, taking our jobs and houses. I Think it is hypercritical to come to this country and not vote for us!! Like your country, have the decency to like our music!!
  10. SkiBaBopBaDopBop - Terry Wogan is a genius, Britain loves him and he has an extensive knowledge of music having been part of the BBC since the 1960's. Thats about 40 years of experience and he knows the difference between good music and not so brilliant music!! I think europe is deluded by what is classed as good music!
  11. Martyn, I watch eurovision for three reasons: 1. It makes me laugh, the songs are so funny 2. Tradition - have always watched it!! 3. And the distantant hope that we might just win and that the rest of european does indeed love us brits after all!!
  12. UK a disgrace??? The whole of eurovision is a disgrace!! Cheesey c**p!!
  13. Oh and I would agree the the UK entry is bad, but then I think that ALL the songs on eurovision are bad. It is mainly all about voting for the song that is the least irritating out of the lot!! And I just thought that our song was one of the least annoying! He's a nice chap too, and can at least keep a tune and dance round the stage wiggling his little ass!!
  14. Rabbitfurcoat - are you calling me ignorant?? I have a very broad tase in music, although european stuff doesn't take my fancy. I think it is mainly cheesy and poorly written, based on what I have heard from eurovision and friends from France, Switzerland etc. I also dislike what the chart calls r and b with people sounding like recently castrated hampsters. I think r and b died many years ago!! Bring back Motown!! I like chlassics such as walking in memphis and pretty much every stones song. I would not call myself ignorant, in fact I would call myself open minded. I also think Alicia Keys as an amzing singer, having been to one of her concerts a few weeks ago. On the other hand I dislike Lionna Lewis, she is completely overrated and is manufactured, also hate manufactured bands. Although I once was a fan of the spice girls, when I was a teenager!!! Love Kylie too, as you can tell my tastes are very broad. I have recently discovered a band called Bokaata, a Cmabridge based band, they are on myspace if you want to check them out. I think that euroope has very odd tatses and think terry wogan sums up the eurovision song contest perfectly with his witty and humourous comments, he is a legend!! Although I don't think europe would understand it somehow. I think the eurovision is a joke, and I think most of the UK would agree with me!
  15. I know that Andy isn't as good the Beatles or The Stones, I was just trying to make the point that the UK and America are the only countries to have really famous people. I do agree that we did not deserve to come first this time, but I think we should have been in the top 3. I thought Norway should have come first and Denmark second and the UK third. I'm surprised that poland didn't give as any points, especially when we have been so kind and let pretty much most of their country into ours so that they can live a decent life!!
