gooddelta's first thoughts on 'Delta'
Well I just listened to the album for the first time, it was difficult waiting but definately worth it. Really quick run down... 1.Believe Again 10/10 Love this so much, the intro with the strings and then the choir at the end really make the song for me. It is so full on but in a great way, I love how there is so much going on and so much there we haven't heard from Delta before. Surely there is no better way to open this album, introducing Delta. This this is one of my all time favourite Delta songs. 2.In this Life 9/10 Well we all know this one. And I have to sad, the moment I first heard it with Toni, we fell in love straight away. The sound is now, it's not 2 years ago. It's a progression without being a departure. Still one of my favourite album tracks, it's got that great singalong vibe to it shh I so don't ruin it.... 3.Possesionless 9/10 This is great, I like the opening few notes and then the story like lyrics at the beginnging with the echoing vocals, emphasizing certian sections. I like the message of the song and the metaphors, it's personal yet it could be about anything right? Great lyrics. 4.God Laughs 10/10 I was worried about this song with some of the lyrics that'd been revealed, BUT it is actually my favourite with Beileve Again [at the moment]. I actually love her vocals in this and the message about change and how it can be difficult sometimes, is relevent to everyone. The lyrics are personal, yet they are user friendly [if that makes sense!], really like this song and the lyrics just make it that much better. The idea of trying to understand something, and then you think you just got it, then it all changes again. It's like a vicious cycle. 5.You Will Only Break My Heart 9/10 Now this is great. It really is! The opening is just not what you expect at all! It jumps out at you after the sobering effects of God Laughs. It's so different yet it works, well I think it works, it's Delta but it's not. I love it anyway, I am so sure this will become a single. The lyrics are alright but it's the music we're all listening to in this one along with the vocal style. [That's one thing this album has, is loads of different ways Delta uses her voice.] 6.The Guardian 6/10 Definately my least favourite track on the album, her voice sounds great but the lyrics are a bit over the top and it's a bit boring, I don't know. Something just doesn't click here, however it's still a good song and I guess it's good to have a power ballad in there somewhere. 7.Bare Hands 8/10 The opening is great, the piano looping is repetative and that works in the context of the song. The spoken bits are great too, kind of simular to I Don't Care maybe? But obviously in a much better way, but that was my initial thought. The metaphors in this are outstanding, well I think so. 8.Woman 8/10 Love Delta's voice in this one, the power is there and the song is really good, probably the most like Innocent Eyes, ironic that she didn't write it? Hmmm. Anyway I like it but like Brad says, it doesn't relate to me in any way shape or form so yeah... However I bet I get caught singing this in public, how I'm a woman, that could be intertesting!! The best thing about this song is definately Delta's strong vocals. 9.I Cant Break It To My Heart 9/10 This is great, I love it, a nice ballad that really feels like a Delta song, the lyrics are nice, it's funny it's a love song but it isn't. I like the idea of the song and I personally think this is the best real ballad on the album. When Delta said she didn't write any piano ballads, I am slightly confused by that, because to me this is a piano ballad? I really like this actually. 10.Brave Face 9/10 The whispering at the beginning, opens the song and then Delta telsl us to put our brave face on. The words are typical Delta right? She is telling us to ignor the bad and focus on the good, well that's how I see it. She's sad but she won't let them breka her down. The umbrella line is odd, but hey. Really good song and I love the message behind it. 11.One Day 9/10 Okay so I was worreid about this one, hearing so much about it before I heard the actual track. However, it is one of my favs? I love it, I love the different vocal technics and I love the music. I think most people can relate to procrastinating too! The lyrics are a bit random, but that's the whole point, well I think anyway. Music wise, it's kinda funny, during the verses I have no idea what the instrument is, but ah well, I like this, I think it's like Msscommunication in the sense, you either lvoe it or hate it. I loved that one too.... 12.Angels in the Room 9/10 Now I was also worried about this, at the album launch this song did bore me, I thought it didn't build and that it was just there to be a ballad written by Delta. Having listened to it again on the album I love it. I love the instruments in the background and I love how she sings the song. It's the simple, You Are My Rock/A Year Ago Today song, however I definately prefer it to both of them, as I never really got on with either of them two! This again, to me, is typical Delta lyrics. Overall, I read so much about this album by forumers and such before I listened and I will admit I was worried. However I listened with an open mind, having already heard half the album at the album launch. I love it, and I am not just saying this, like some might beileve. This is not at all what I was expecting, to me it's not even that different to her past albums, apart from the obvious. Delta said it was very different, the views on the forum were so mixed, I dunno, I was expecting more varity from what was said about the album, in that sense I think I was slightly dissappointed, but at the same time I am really happy it is still [to me] obvious Delta and that she hasn't changed so much really. Love it, I can't say just yet if I prefer it to Innocent Eyes or Mistaken Identity, but I can say that it was $20 well spent and this will more than likely be my favourite album of the year.

Well I love the album and went to see them in Sydney last night at a one off concert. All I can say is WOW, best concert I have ever been to, and I've been to a lot!! Nat totally knows how to work a crowd, it was electric! They sang every song from the album too, with all the HCTD singles!

Delta's Album Launch!!
looking at your photos, I was like rigth on the left of the stage at the front, stook rigth next to the cameraman! Was so cute when Delta left cos we winked at me yay. I don't think was at all overrated, it was amazing, however it wasn't meant to be a concert, it was more of an event [okayI know that makes no sense!!]
-
performed new single
Yeah she didn't sit on the piano to sing it on the album launch! It sounds great live too hope she performs it on TV soon!!
-
Delta's Album Launch!!

Rogue Traders - Don't You Wanna Feel
I love the Rogues, and I love this song, however the guiter breakdown in the middle/towards the end is slightly boring to me, but apart from that , great and greta video. Looking forward to seeing them in concert in October, in Sydney!

Does it annoy you?
erm, doesn't bother me whatsoever, but ah well.

BREATHE IN BREATHE OUT!!!
It's okay, I like it but it's a bit boring after hearing In This Life and Take Me Home this is slightly disappointing. BUT for a bside and an iTunes only one at that, then yeah it's better than nothing. I like it don't get me wrong, but yeah it's not as good as the other two tracks.

Take me Home
The reggae song thing, 'I Can't Break It To My Heart', isn't bad, you can listen to a clip of it on the Delta Stuido Footage on the forum think it's Footage #2. Take Me Home is amazing I think, made me much more excited about the album.
-
Take me Home
Take Me Home is WOW. I bought the single and listened to it first and I was blown away, the opening music, the lyrics, everything about it are different yet it's still obviously Delta, it's made me so excited about the album!
-
the new album
Yeha that's correct gooddelta, as are brave Face and God Laughs.
-
the new album
Possessionless is also co-written by Brian, it wasn't originally but he now has a writting credit on the song [i noticed this about 6 weeks ago] so obviously they have slightly re-worked it from the BTT US album contender [although I doubt tooi much]. Obviously this means there are two versions of the song and there is no evidence the Brian version will be on the album over the non-Brian version but it seems likely to me...
-
Brian McFadden inspires Delta magic
Black Apple, yes like everyone else I am dying to hear this! Possessionless was re-worked with Brian McFadden so I knew this would be on the album otherwise why would they re-work it [before Brian had no hand in the song and now he appears on the credits]. Looking forward to hearing that one anyway. Really excited about the album now, not long to go!! [and we hear Take Me Home tomorrow too woop]!

Delta Goodrem back on the radar

She's Back With Delta Force
Oh I love this interview so much! So some sounds sound like the Sugababes? I dunno if I beileve this but I really want to, Sugababes are my second favourite act after Delta so for me that would be immense.

She's Back With Delta Force
She's back with Delta force DELTA Goodrem has revealed a new look and is pulling no punches with her new single In This Life, proving she's found her feet again. http://www.news.com.au/common/imagedata/0,,5652148,00.jpg In between the positive affirmations of the comeback track, the 22-year-old glamazon – who loves a boxing session – aims an uppercut at the gossipmongers who have delighted in the dramas of her personal life in the past two years. She admits she has made her own mistakes in the second verse: "I have faltered, I have stumbled, I have found my feet again. "I've been angry, And I've been shaken, Found a new place to begin." But then she challenges those she accuses of a constant "punch and run" assault on her private life to "fight an honest fight" in the song's chorus. "There's been a lot of battles, artistic ones as well. It's hard picking a single against the will of a big (record company) machine. Everything that means so much to you as an artist is at stake because if you don't get it right, you will get run over," Goodrem says, relaxing at a friend's bar in Darlinghurst. "Also I felt for a while, when I wasn't speaking out about all the issues in my life, that I wasn't getting an honest fight. I felt I was getting railroaded by the lies that were being told about me. "If you're gonna fight me, fight me honestly. If you're going to give me grief or a bit of stick, do it to my face. that's how I do it, I'm open. "But it was like punch and run. If you're gonna do that to me, at least explain why. Don't hide the weapon behind your back, be a man or a woman about it. "People were constantly talking about Brian and his kids and my life and they had no clue what they were talking about." When Goodrem stopped talking after moving to London to start her life with fellow artist Brian McFadden, she also ceased playing and songwriting for several months. The piano has been her voice for as long as she can remember but the wounded composer didn't want to use it as the instrument for catharsis as she had after her treatment for Hodgkin's disease. Her reticence to pour her frustrations into music was coupled with a crisis of confidence that started after writing Together We Are One with McFadden and British hitmaker Guy Chambers for last year's Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. Goodrem was sent on a seemingly endless round of writing sessions with all the big names in Europe and the US, amassing about 150 songs. The travel was great but the results were disappointing. "I kept writing with different people and felt like I was flogging a dead horse. I didn't know what I was meant to be doing, trying to write a certain song that was just not there," she says. "I didn't want to talk about anything personal (in my music). So when I did the tour of working with other people, it wasn't satisfying or fulfilling or at all special, there were no connections made." She finally turned a corner last Christmas, thanks to her new album's opening track, Believe Again, and establishing a writing team with Nashville country producer Tommy Lee James, Scottish songwriter Stuart Crichton and McFadden. The gang also wrote In This Life and she cites them, as well as the team led by LA-based Australian Steve Kipner, in helping her find her passion for music again. "Your best stuff happens when you find the chemistry and I found it with these guys," she says. While understandably hesitant to reveal too much about his involvement at first, Goodrem credits her partner of the past two years with restoring her enthusiasm for playing and writing. He challenged her to dig deep to find the "Delta piano riffs" which would always point her in the right direction for a new track. They talked for hours about lyrics and choruses but not in terms of their own life; just about the universal themes which have always informed hit pop songs whether love or conquering adversity or learning to be yourself. "Brian had a lot to do with me getting my enthusiasm back for music because he's so passionate about it," she says. "He'd be playing me new songs and telling me I could do it, I knew how to write songs." The new Delta – and she insists her third album is all about starting again as an artist – shares a lot in common with the wide-eyed teenager who was Born To Try. Sonically, she has stretched her repertoire beyond the soaring ballads and up-tempo epics to experiment with the contemporary flavours that she is surrounded by in the pop-centric UK. She becomes hugely excited when it is mentioned a couple of tracks sound very "Sugababes". "I love the Sugababes and maybe I've absorbed something of what they do since moving to the UK," she says. "But I didn't go into the studio to write a Sugababes song and I didn't want to to conform to what else was going on. I wasn't trying to be cool." That's the thing when you're not trying to be cool; it happens anyway. Mouths – most of them belonging to men – hit the floor when newspapers revealed the Australian pop star's transition to young woman in the photos from the In This Life video. When the video premiered on Sunrise, the male members of that team stammered and stuttered in their praise of her defiant sass appeal. "I had the best day ever on that video shoot; I probably shouldn't have had that much fun. I finally got to do what I do best and that's perform," she laughs. "I knew I was ready, I want to do this now. And I've got this great album I love to back it all up." In This Life will be released on Saturday. Her third album, Delta, will be released on October 20. http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0...5003421,00.html
