  1. I must say I'm pleasantly surprised by the London concert, she's in really good vocal shape in this performance, even if it's compiled from 2 nights she does really strong performances of I Believe In You, Your Disco Needs You, All I See, No More Rain and The One! It's reasonable to assume they'll try to hit the Christmas Sales with the DVD, as her DVD's normally sell pretty well. However, it might depend on what agreements were made with the 4Music owners. I seem to recall that time from first airing of Showgirl and actual DVD release was LONG, but whether this had anything to do with broadcast agreements or simply was a result of bad timing and/or planning I don't know.
  2. While I agree with above reviews that second half of the show by far outranked first half - which was simply bogged down with too many poor song choices (Ruffle My Feather - meh, Heart Beat Rocks - yuck, Loveboat - wtf?) I actually think that the Loveboat segment as a whole was the highlight of first part of the show, at least dramatically. The setup was amazing, and I did love how she performed Copacabana. She genuinely seemed to have fun during this, which was really refreshing. That being said, I agree that it was only from Black and White and onwards (cf. my previous review) that things really got going, which ment that the first two thirds of the concert actually afterwards seemed mostly like a missed opportunity to have done something really great. It was good, but imagine how it would have been, had she got the show off ground from the first set? It would have made it unreal!

  5. Would have liked something a bit more substantial than a websearch, though. <_< You can find all sorts of true and untrue information online. Of course, I don't know your source.
  6. Strange, Excuse My French sounds so much like Kylie. How do we know it's not her? Anyway, whoever it is, love the track. ^_^ Thanx for the clarification!!!
  7. 'Your Disco Needs You' 'Fever' 'Secret(take you home)' (had to choose something, to me, the whole album is c**p bar Slow and Red Blooded Woman) 'Like A Drug' :cheer: 'Rippin Up The Disco' 'Love Is The Drug'
  8. The other day, I happened upon a download called "X2", supposedly left-overs and B-sides from X. The tracklist includes songs: Boombox Magnetic Electric Ripping Up The Disco Lose Control Fall For You Everything I Know (demo) Spell Of Desire (demo) I'm In The Mood For Love Excuse My French (demo) When The Cat's Away Love Is The Drug White Dimonds (remix) Boombox (extended remix) Some of these songs are really great - Magnetic Electric and Ripping Up The Disco I knew already, but Spell Of Desire, Love Is The Drug, I'm In The Mood For Love and Excuse My French are easily some of the best songs from Kylie I've heard recently (which means post Light Years!). :cheer: Or, so I thought - because the other day, in some off-hand remark, I saw somebody imply that Excuse My French was a fake and not Kylie at all!? I've heard of such fake leaks before, but this SOUNDS 100 % like it's Kylie - so, does anybody know what's actually the truth of this? And why do they keep adding crappy B-sides to the singles, where there are such amazing tracks like Love Is The Drug and Excuse My French lying around?

  11. *yawn* Starts to go trivial, doesn't it? ;) I Want Tomorrow 51 Amarantine 10- Lazy Days 18+ Afer Ventus 20 May It Be 29 Of course, we do help I Want Tomorrow to grow a comfortable lead. Maybe we should team up and boost our respective songs on behalf of that one. :D But then, I do love IWT.
  12. Must admit I never really liked Get Together's video - maybe, most of all, because it broke with the coherence of the other videos from Conffesions: Hung Up > Sorry > Jump was almost like a continuation of each other. I also think that some recent videos like those of Madonna from Conffessions and Justin from FutureSex/LoveSounds show that it DOES pay off to do a good video and promotion. Justin was playing none-stop for a year on MTV, and I don't think that was bad for album sales!
  13. Problem is that she plays it acousticly, so not much of a show to put in a video (not like Madge's Jump, which was pretty spectacular), and I don't think the acoustic version is going to sell well audiowise, the song doesn't transfer as well into acoustic as I Believe In You, if you ask me.
  14. Well, she did the sailor stuff on the On A Night Like This tour, but that was back in 2000, so I guess it's ok to revive it. That was more like a beach party theme anyway, where this is more like a sailor's bar - ok, the difference is subtle, admittedly. She didn't do Manga / Japanese / Samurai theme on any of her previous tour, so I think that's a fresh breath. To turn the discussion slightly back on topic, I'd like to hear whether anybody knows if she's still playing the acoustic version of The One? Must admit I'm not too excited about it, from what I heard on YouTube, but ok, if she's releasing The One as next single, it's probably a good idea to promote it a bit.

  18. I Want Tomorrow 46 Amarantine 8- Lazy Days 22+ Afer Ventus 25 May It Be 27 Lazy Days is certainly superior to Amarantine. :cheer:
  19. Can anybody post the new setlist (with The One in it)? And is there any footage of this accoustic version of The One?
  20. No longer. :teresa: I Want Tomorrow 43 Amarantine 12 Wild Child 0- Lazy Days 22+ Afer Ventus 24 May It Be 27
  21. So do I ... but it's not her best song. <_< I Want Tomorrow 40 Amarantine 12 Wild Child 4 Lazy Days 23+ Afer Ventus 24 Only If 0- May It Be 25

  23. Well, each to their own. The good thing about Heart Beat Rock was the added horn section, which made it different from the album version, which was cool. It's still not a very good track, though, at least not in my oppinion, and the response from the audience was lukewarm to say the most. It was not horrible, but I think some other song could have been much better. As for Come Into My World, it sounded like a mess, to be honest. I didn't like the remix sound either, and I don't think most of the audience really understood what it was. I think playing the album version would have been much more recognizable to most of those in attendance. I've read four reviews so far, two rating the concert at 3/6 and two rating it at 4/6. Don't know how reviews in other countries have been.
  24. Last night was Copenhagen, and again, the setlist was like this: Act 1: Xlectro Static * Speakerphone * Can't Get You Out Of My Head (Greg Kurstin Remix) (with excerpts of "Boombox") * Ruffle My Feathers * In Your Eyes Act 2: Cheer Squad * Heart Beat Rock * Wow * Shocked (DNA Mix) [with singing, up to the rap, which was done by the chearleaders] Act 3: Beach Party * Loveboat * Copacabana * Spinning Around Act 4: Xposed * Like a Drug * Slow * 2 Hearts Break Act 5: Naughty Manga Girl * Sometime Samurai (Video Projection) * Come Into My World (Fischerspooner Mix) * Nu-di-ty * Sensitized Act 6: Starry Nights * Flower * I Believe in You (Ballad Version) Act 7: Black vs White * On a Night Like This * Your Disco Needs You * Kids * Step Back In Time * In My Arms Encore * No More Rain * Love at First Sight * I Should Be So Lucky A few show memories for you. First off, I was pretty surprised that she had exchanged the whole band, but the new band did a great job - particularly when it came to rocking out! More on that later. The new backing vocalists were excellent, and much less dominant than on the previous tour. And I loved the brass section - great move there!! As for the set, it was very much hit-and-miss, particularly in the first section. I had my scepticism on all the new tracks (X and unreleased), and I was pretty much proved right at this. The first part of the set, in particular, never really got off ground. The opening was very spectacular, but everytime the crowd really got into it, some new song was pulled out which left everybody thinking WTF (marked in red) and the show sort of fell back on the ground. Only two songs from the first set, Wow and Slow - which, very surprisingly, was played in a rock version which was amazing! - really peaked in the first set. Shocked, Spinning Around, 2 Hearts and Copacabana all were nice, without being truely great, and Like A Drug (my favorite from the album) fell a bit short on the performance, although the entry on the skull was cool! Maybe the awful accoustics of the venue had part of the guilt for that, however, same thing with Speakerphone, where the finer parts of the arrangement was completely lost in the heavy sound. The break came at the wrong place in the show, if you ask me. First part felt longer than the second, and putting the break after 2 Hearts would have made more sense in terms of how the music was arranged also. Like A Drug would have been an amazing opener to second half! Furthermore, Sometime Samurai, although visually very spectacular, was a complete throwaway, and the remix version of Come Into My World was a serious miss-pick - the album version would have been a much better choice. Talking about the visually stunning, I must say, the show WAS visually stunning! Particularly the Love Boat set was amazing! - but also the Samurai set (Naughty Manga Girl) and the Cheer Squad set was very well excecuted - often being the saving grace for this part of the concert. And now, before I start going all negative, I must add - something happened when she played the ballad version of I Believe In You. It was like a wake-up call for the audience, suddenly realizing how great she can be live. Following up with On A Night Like This was a pleaser, and from Your Disco Needs You and onwards, the crowd went crazy - and I mean, crazy. It was like a 180 degree change, from being only mildly enthusiastic, suddenly, everybody were RAVING. This was not lost on Kylie, who seemed more than a bit suprised - she was practically blown off stage by the crowds chearing after Kids (normally not a favorite of mine, but boy did it work this night) and from there, it was all good. Show highlight from me was probably No More Rain, it was so beautiful and amazing! Once the confetti started, it was pure bliss. All in all it was a great evening, but it was very much a pitty that it took so long for the atmosphere to really kick in, and I have no doubts the setlist is faulty for that. I don't think it was lost on Kylie either.
  25. Well, not all of them can win. ;) Just because they're not her best tracks doesn't mean they're bad. I Want Tomorrow 34 Amarantine 15 Wild Child 4 Lazy Days 21+ Afer Ventus 23 Long Long Journey 6 Only If 3- May It Be 22
