With all due respect Jan, Darius has a pantomime contract going on at the moment and unless it was a matter of life and limb he shouldn't have been out of Glasgow with the weather conditions we have had in Glasgow this week. Last night people in Glasgow made their way to The Kings in -11 degrees temperatures. There was very little public transport available all day, never mind at that time of night, and they would have gone expecting to see Darius, if not only to see Darius. An apology is the least they were due.

Sorry to hear you haven't made it to Glasgow Meg. The roads are still pretty bad though we have had no more snow. There are some trains and bus services on which is better than on Monday. The sun is actually shining and we have blue skies in Glasgow at the moment. Very deceiving because its lovely to look out to but absolutely freezing. To be honest I don't think The Kings can afford to cancel any performances and give refunds, which is a shame for people who just can't get there in these conditions. Christina

Just an update to tonight's panto and the weather/roads in Glasgow. I probably rather stupidly went to the pantomime tonight. There has been next to no public transport in Glasgow since before lunchtime with the roads gridlocked all day and people trying to get home (some of them never making work in the first place). We had heavy snow from 8.30 this morning till lunchtime and for some reason we seemed to be totally unprepared for it. The main roads don't appear to have been gritted last night and were fine until the snow this morning which caused havoc. I decided the easiest thing to do was to stay in work and go straight to the theatre. My thinking was once the roads eventually cleared, the gritters would be out and by the time I was going home, the roads would be fine.....how wrong I was! Came out of the theatre to freezing fog, still ungritted roads and -3 temperatures, which went down to -5 by the time I got home. My god daughter who was originally going, couldn't get into town, so I dragged (not unwillingly) my friend along who was still in town. As I was driving home at 15 miles an hour, she said it was probably one of the stupidest things we had ever done (and we've done many). Anyway, not surprisingly the theatre was pretty empty and we were told to sit more or less where we wanted. In the second half more people came down to the front stalls which helped greatly. I have to say that one thing a panto really needs is a big audience, so I felt a bit sorry for the cast, though the people there did their best to make as much noise as possible and participate (especially as the theatre wasn't warm enough). I will definitely need to go back to get the full flavour with a full audience. (Not that I really need an excuse) Darius looked and sounded fabulous, though he does have to watch that kilt when he's sitting down lol. The songs chosen really suited him and he was really great at 'I can't fight this feeling anymore'. The rest of the cast were really good too, particularly as Gerard Kelly is really difficult to replace. It is really funny, and although the humour and lingo are very local, which might cause some difficulty for visitors, I don't think it would spoil it for anyone. At the end they did thank everyone for making the effort to come along to the show, and I think a good few of the cast would have to stay in hotels in town, rather than attempting to go home, to ensure they make it back for tomorrow. Hopefully anyone coming to Glasgow over the next few days will get here okay and the roads and public transport will get back to normal sometime tomorrow. I know I don't post much but thought I'd give you an update on tonight's show and the weather situation in Glasgow at the moment.

Vicky's description of 'Bump' (god I bet the title is nothing like that) is 'swingy but modern'. I think that's a good description actually.

I'm sure he said that the first one was from his new album and because of what Natasha said I presumed Crazy Love was from the new album too.

I wish I had recorded it on my phone Meg, so I could listen again. I played it down the phone to Vicky's answer phone, so I'll ask her to have another listen and get back to you. Hopefully someone else heard it and can be more helpful than me.

Hi I know Meg has posted for me from my facebook page but thought I would come on to tell you what else he sang at Glasgow Green as I only thought about mentioning that afterwards. He did 'Rushes' 'Incredible' 'I've got you under my skin' ' When I fall in love' 'Bump' (I think its called) 'Crazy Love' and 'Colourblind'. The first time he jumped off the stage to get nearer the crowd I openly winced. He did work the crowd wonderfully though, as usual, and was looking good (even with a neck brace). I think the jumps probably took a few years off his mother's life as she did say she wished he would stop doing it lol. He was asked to tell us what he would be doing in the next few months and mentioned a new album and the panto but didn't mention 'The History of The Big Band' tour which I thought was a missed opportunity. He stood for lots of pics and autographs at the end and only left the Green around 4.30 ish. So a mad dash to Bristol it seems. Christina
  8. Sue Here The girls all came down to London for the weekend and we went along to the studio with no tickets, on the off chance and YEAH we got in and it was fabulous. Thanks to Sue H and two other ladies who were kind enough to let the 6 of us have some of their spare tickets. The audience was mainly made up of production guests and only appx 50 public tickets got in. Thankfully we were all encouraged to vote during the add breaks, so all 6 of us voted like crazy. It was lovely to see all the family, and Jacqui, who couldn't more pleased and spent a long time after the cameras had stopped rolling taking photos of D in the chair then D with Cyrus and Aria. After a few celebratory drinks in the pub opposite we were then lucky enough to be ushered into the foyer of the studio to spend some time with Darius. We greeted him with a round of applause and he joined in our cheers :cheer: I will try and post some photos tomorrow, it would have been tonite however my car is stuck in a car park that closed at midnight, I will be asking D to pay the fine :naughty: Darius did say he thinks he will be on Alan Titchmarsh show again next week, 'singing the winning song' but D did say that when he spoke to Alan he didn't know anything about it !! so watch this space. Its now 2am and I am having to sneak in the girls hotel room until 7am when I can rescue my car Sue x
