Have you seen Steps live?
I've been to an uncountable amount of gigs in my time, but Party on the Dancefloor was one of my favourite pop shows ever. It was such a triumph, it totally floored me. The vocals were outstanding and Steve's new mixes of the old classics were the best they've ever sounded. I'll forever be sad we never got the studio version of Love U More 2017.

The Circle • Series 3
I can't call this one. They edited it so well, it could go either way. I've got a feeling Syed is more likely to back down under pressure and get rid of Andy. I couldn't tell if Manrika's devastation at the end was genuine (suggesting a Dot blocking) or not, but it did look real. Urgh, either way, I agree that it feels rotten for one of these 5 to go while "Tom" and "Alice" swoop in at the last minute and are immune.

Brit Awards 2021 - Nominations
Ah right enough. Does that "must have released an album" rule only apply to the British artist categories? Because there's definitely other nominations that didn't release an album last year.

Brit Awards 2021 - Nominations
Gaga getting snubbed in International Female, despite a number 1 single, top 5 single and number 1 album. Yet Billie Eilish is nominated? Ok. Fairly surprised Harry isn't up for British Male too.

The Circle • Series 3
Can't see them not blocking Gemma, but it could also be Vithun, now that they see he's not popular either. What is Manrika hoping to achieve by blocking Gemma though? Gemma has outwardly expressed support for Manrika, so you'd think that keeping an ally around would serve her better. At least until it was time to make a play for the win. But if Gemma is blocked, everyone else will see that Manrika has now had a hand in both of her "Geezer Girls" being booted. So, her gameplaying and lack of loyalty will be crystal clear. Vithun already clocked her for getting Tally blocked, so if Gemma's next, it couldn't be more obvious. It's pretty wild to see Manrika have such an intense hatred for Gemma because she thinks that Gemma is doing all this scheming behind her back. When in reality, it's Manrika that painted the snake picture and is gunning for Gemma, while Gemma still thinks they have each other's backs.

Godzilla vs Kong
It absolutely dominated the box office at the weekend, with over $120 million internationally. China was here for it. It'll be interesting to see what numbers it does in the US. The pandemic box office bar is fairly low, but I'm expecting it to do big things, even with the HBO Max release.

The Circle • Series 3
Yeah, when I say she's being awful, I wasn't specifically referring to the Tally vote. It's her overall attitude and the way she's handling herself in general that's so unappealing. Take the Gemma situation for example. Granted, Gemma isn't real, so there's no real feelings to be hurt. But the way she's talking about her (calling her a b***h etc) is just so weird. There's a real intense nastiness about it, and it's just pretty gross. I don't see why that's something to be celebrated.

The Circle • Series 3
Confused at the love for Manrika, with the reasoning that she's "playing the game". We've seen plenty other people play the Circle game a lot better than her but not be absolute arseholes too. Syed for example. Also seeing a lot of people declare how they're team Manrika because Tally is so gullible, yet ignoring the fact that Manrika's #CircleBoyfriend is a woman who is playing her like a damn fiddle. Make it make sense please. I wasn't a fan of Tally, but I saw a different side of her tonight. That last shot of her crying was sad, especially when she hasn't actually done anything wrong to anyone in there, but she has no idea that it was a tactical vote that landed her at the bottom, not that people dislike her. I'm all for people playing the game, but I can't get any enjoyment out of watching Manrika be genuinely awful about it. Syed/Hashu for the win.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier
I mean, Bucky was a villain and is a straight up murderer, so the optics aren't great there. Giving him it wouldn't make any sense when Sam's right there. I do still feel like Sam is one of the least interesting characters, but I'm willing to have my mind changed by the show.

United Kingdom · Eurovision Song Contest 2021
Honestly, for me, this song doesn't come anywhere close to competing with those 3 though. Just not a patch on them, in terms of melody, structure or vocals. Particularly Guy and John's songs/performances. I wish I had confidence that James could deliver a rousing performance of this, but I'm yet to see any charisma or performance ability from him. This song is going to need some spectacular staging to make an impact.

United Kingdom · Eurovision Song Contest 2021
It's not a bad song, but I absolutely detest the vocal production on it. His vocal take is so dry and pushed so far forward, it's so separated from the backing track. And in the chorus, the double tracking of his vocal is messy and you can hear the other track clipping off the end of words before the lead vocal does. It's really annoying. Suspect it's more noticeable with headphones and hopefully something a live performance will sort out. Though I have other concerns about James being able to give this the energy it will need on stage.

The Masked Singer • Series 2
Yes. For anyone else who is still on the fence about Viking, here's him singing that exact version of the song: -xKM3mGt2pE He's just playing with them, because they're not even close to guessing him. If they don't get it when he sang his own song, they're not getting him at all.

Dancing on Ice • Series 13
She was my favourite too. Her overall performance was brilliant!! Her facial expressions were amazing, and she had such good natural rhythm on the ice. She deserved to be top of the votes, so that result is outrageous. I can only hope that she's up against a real idiot next week, because if she's first to go I'll be so annoyed.

The Masked Singer • Series 2
That's not unusual for this show to be honest. Most non-football fans are going to have that reaction to Grandfather Clock's reveal. I'd say Morten is considerably more well known, but that's maybe just because I love music and hate football. And yeah, I'm sticking to that first impression. I've listened again and I'm absolutely certain it's him. No doubt about it.

The Masked Singer • Series 2
I was sure Viking sounded just like Morten Harket. He's Norwegian, so fits the Viking theme, and that higher register in his voice is so distinctive. I'm sure I could hear his tone in there. Matt Lucas is a very good guess for Bush Baby. If anyone has seen him in Les Miserables, it's not a million miles away from how he sounds there, but he's also an actor known for characters and voices, so he could quite easily throw us off the scent with a different voice each week. But some of the clues definitely fit with him. Harlequin is 100% Gabrielle. There's just no doubt about it. I had Blob as Lenny, just from the singing voice, but couldn't make the clues fit him, so Romesh is the one it seems. Also, Mel B should have stayed. I actually didn't think she sounded bad, despite her trying to change her voice and sing in a higher register than really suits her. I thought she did ok. Grandfather Clock should have gone.

Steps - Charts Discussion Thread
Does make me laugh when it's suggested that Steps were some sort of novelty, niche 90s act. Those album sales are no joke. They were a force. And to still be legitimately in contention for number 1 albums 20+ years into their career is incredible, with arguably some of their strongest material too.

Steps – 'What the Future Holds'
Under My Skin went top 15, but didn't break the top 10. I'd be surprised if this one went top 20 though. It's by far the weakest of the 4 songs so far. I definitely wouldn't have gone with this one as the last buzz track before the album.

iTunes Weekly Thread w/c 23rd October 2020
Steps know their days of high charting singles are behind them. They did amazingly well to get Scared of the Dark into the top 40. It's a good look for them to consistently get their songs high on the sales charts though, and as others have said, bagging that iTunes number 1 is great promo for the album pre-order. It would be nice if they could do that with 2 songs from this album.

iTunes Weekly Thread w/c 16th October 2020
If Ed Sheeran had announced a change to the pronoun he wanted to use from now on, then yes I would. But, as he hasn't, that's not a comparable situation. I wasn't disrespectful about pointing it out. I specifically said "in case you've missed that". I appreciate that anyone who doesn't follow Sam or their social presence, might genuinely be unaware of it, so it was just a reminder. There was no attempt to start a debate, but given that it has already been specifically mentioned in this thread, it's not unreasonable to correct someone when they make the mistake.

It's "their", not "his", just in case you've missed that.

Cher - UK Singles Rate - THE RESULTS
I'm kind of aghast that Strong Enough is top 2. I had no idea it was so loved. It's not it for me. I'll happily sing along to it, but if someone who didn't know Cher asked me to recommend 20 songs to them, I wouldn't even remember to include it. I'm rediscovering Love & Understanding all over again at the moment. It's just got that classic 80s sound to it. So, so good.

KEiiNO - I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)
Nope, not feeling this at all. It sucks all the life out of the song for me. For a Global Pride anthem, I'd expect something uplifting and celebratory. This is...not it.

Cher - UK Singles Rate - THE RESULTS
Obviously, they're great singles, but I'm a bit meh at the top 3. How could I Found Someone miss out? That's a travesty. I'd say Believe probably deserves it purely because of what it achieved. That song will never die. But I can't listen to Turn Back Time anymore. It's just too overplayed. Not the song's fault, I know, but it's just tired sounding to me now. But Strong Enough? As much of a bop as it is, that's not a better song than at least 20 other singles on the list. One By One is one of her most underrated vocal performances. Ooft, has she ever sounded better? Maybe we're just totally spoiled for choice with Cher, but that's one seriously packed singles run. Holy jesus.
