Bit sad that, if it wasn't for X Factor, Leona would most likely have got herself another number 1 this week, and we'd have actually had an original Christmas song as the Christmas number 1. Shame. Hopefully she stays top 3 though, with good sales.

There's no way Leona will make number 1 officially. She was too far behind on Wednesday/Thursday. It's great to see her at the top on iTunes though, and I do think she might overtake Lily and get number 2 based on the big gap between them for the last few days.

Homeland
I'm glad about that 2nd cast member. I can't stand that character, but I do like the 1st one. I do think that's quite telling about the direction of the show though. If you know where to look, this week's episode has leaked out already. Can't wait to watch it later, the 2nd half of this season has been excellent.

She looks good for moving up to number 2 in the next few hours anyway. Especially if Lily continues to fall as much as she did in the last update, christ. I suspect Lily will bounce right back up again though and, once the weekend hits and her advert is hammered, she'll be fine.

Don't be daft. She was increasing in sales right up to X Factor. She was around number 24 and on 25% of number 1. She'd definitely have climbed to top 20 by today, but she certainly wouldn't have gone top 10 without the performance.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 8th December 2013
From the numbers it appears that Leona is actually gaining in huge amounts. Everything bar Lily is taking massive tumbles (some around 7 or 8% in one update) but Leona's still gaining. So she's zooming up really, it's just that Lily obviously got a massive boost from X Factor too. If Leona continues to climb at that rate she'll easily make top 5. Wether she can sustain that is another question.

I'd wet myself if that happened! :w00t:

Yes it climbed 10-8 and gained 13% on the number 1, but it has since dropped back a little. Katy's album was on 131k last week.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 1st December 2013
She may still be at 8 but she's gone from 51% to 64%. The gap between 10-7 was huge, I didn't expect her to make that, but she's now closing in. I don't imagine she'll go much higher, but it's had a great boost and should keep it going for a little while now.

Yeah I figured she would tumble a bit, but I hoped she'd at least stay top 20. Pity.

Good god, does the absence of ARTPOP mean it's on for less than 28k?? Surely not. I'm hoping that's just a random list and not every album in order. That would be terrible.

'Do What U Want' • 2nd Single Thread
The Venus "teasers" are not real. They're Gaga playing with dolls, making them dance to Venus. She uploaded them on her Instagram. Also, there has been an official announcement about Do What U Want's video package. It's being released through BitTorrent in a bundle with other stuff. I'm assuming it'll also be uploaded to Vevo at the same time.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 24th November 2013
The fact that anyone can suggest they are horrid human beings when they obviously just don't like their music speaks volumes about their own vile character. Certainly more than it does about 1D's. I don't particularly like their music either but to be fair to them, they clearly put the hours in when it comes to promoting and if thousands of people choose to buy it, they deserve the success. It's surely as simple as that. Obviously, from a selfish point of view, I'd like the songs I bought to be higher in the charts but they're not. Because One Direction are clearly more popular at the moment. Bloody good for them too. If someone offered me the opportunity they have, I'd snatch their hands off for it. To my knowledge, they haven't killed anyone and as far as I'm aware they are not responsible for any major worldwide disasters. They're a bunch of young lads having the time of their lives, causing no real harm to anyone at all. Some people need to get out more and get over themselves.

Really pleased to see Gaga getting big increases tonight. The video is out on 3rd December and she has Alan Carr a couple of days later so she should be able to hold steady.

Ach, I'm disappointed that Do What U Want is about to be pushed right down. With no more UK promo for it lined up, I can't see it climbing again either. If she'd just released it as a bloody single weeks ago, she'd have already had a half decent run with it. I'm not Lily's biggest fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I don't mind her song. It's fun with the video, but isn't something that I think holds up that well as a standalone track.

Leona Lewis - Christmas, With Love
I'm just in disbelief. This is her finest vocal moment ever.

Leona Lewis - Christmas, With Love
We've heard her say she had classical vocal training in the past, but holy jesus, that Ave Maria snippet is absolutely astonishing. By an absolute mile it is her finest recorded vocal ever. I cannot think of any contemporary pop female vocalist that could even consider competing with that. Incredible.

Agnetha is performing live for the first time in 25 years on the CIN concert. She's singing her duet with Gary Barlow. I hope that gets a boost. What a legend. What a voice.

America's Next Top Model 2018 | Cycle 24
Cory was set up to fail on this one. I'm not even sure why they have let him get this far if that's clearly not what they want. They're not exactly spreading the "love thyself" message by hammering home that he needs to butch up all the time. I also don't understand why the preview for next week showed all 3 models on the catwalk in the final show, when we're expecting one of them to be eliminated. Could there be a tie in the score between the 2 boys perhaps?

Predict : 1st week album sales, Lady Gaga etc
I'm being very optimistic and putting Gaga at 150k. In theory she should do it. She's a decent album seller and she's going into the week with a song that will probably be top 5 after a Graham Norton performance. Fingers crossed. Even if she managed to do 100k I'd be pleased, given the poor state of the album market at the moment.

The Good Wife
This season has given me some of the very best drama I've watched in years. It's absolutely, hands down, the best show around in terms of acting and writing. The last 2 episodes in particular have been absolutely stellar. Alicia, Kalinda, Diane, David Lee, Jackie and Elsbeth are all outstanding characters, perfectly played, with everyone else a very close 2nd to them all. It's a shame this is likely to be the last season, even though this week's episode had the best ratings and viewings figures of the season so far. I'll really miss this show if it gets cancelled.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 27th October 2013
That's really quite unfortunate timing for the single but good the album. She'll no doubt get a considerable boost in sales on the Saturday and Sunday following the performance but those sales still won't count to Do What U Want's chart position. Only sales from Monday 11th will count. She's going to lose the 2 days that will probably contribute most to the single's sales. Unless of course she's got more UK promo planned. Do What U Want is going to be quite a good seller in the long run though I think. It'll be interesting to see how its sales are reported when it is finally able to chart. I can't remember how it worked with Paradise. Do you get the weekly sale and an update of the total including the ineligible chart weeks?

Hits Daily Double - US Top 50 Albums
Ok, I'm confused. Can someone please explain to me the difference between this and the Billboard album chart? Their sales figures differ hugely. I'm looking at Cher's figure in particular, for the last 2 weeks. I don't understand. Her sales according to this chart are way higher than Billboard has for her.
