  1. Thrilled to see these two here. Two of my favourite songs ever. Particularly Lay All Your Love On Me. Never thought I'd see the day it was in the iTunes charts.
  2. Devastated she re-recorded the verses in such a boring, non-descript and disinterested manner. I absolutely loved her vocal in the verses before. They were just as good as that glorious chorus. The demo version is infinitely better than this one. I'm so disappointed.
  3. At the rate Pearl Jam are falling, Applause will be back in the top 10 in the next 2 hours I'd imagine. With any luck, Bieber will continue to fall like a brick and she can climb to number 9 to get more of a foothold again :P
  4. Yep, Billboard is reporting different sales and positions. Cher is apparently number 8 instead with 24,000.
  5. Absolutely thrilled at Cher having such a good 2nd week. I expected her to nosedive right out of the top 10, but that is an excellent result.
  6. Britney's song is utter garbage, and I really can't see that smashing in the UK at all. At least I bloody hope not. It's completely void of any sort of melody and is so irritating. Very disappointing. I'm totally shocked to see Jessie J so high up. To my ears, this song sounds like a number 14 then out kind of deal. I just don't get it. Pity that Applause has seen its last days in the top 10 now. I'd hoped for a bit more longevity. Such a shame she didn't do any promo while she was here for the iTunes festival.
  7. Really? I'd count them as different songs. They have a different sound and a lyric change. I'm not sure it would be right to combine them.
  8. Not really. It makes perfect business sense to get it released to take full advantage of the fact that, at that point, the Internet was going nuts for it. If she'd waited, the hype would have eased off and it would probably cost her quite a few sales. I think she did the right thing. Maybe she didn't want her fans listening to a shitty quality rip when there is a considerable difference in how the song sounds when you hear it in HQ.
  9. Jesus, really? Born This Way didn't have to catch up with a song that was on course for a 500k week. It'll take time to catch up with Katy, but given that most folk have only been up for a couple of hours in the US, I'd say she's doing pretty well to be at 2 already.
  10. Indeed. And it's an absolute banger!! I love it. Hope she releases in the UK too.
  11. I've never been a huge fan of Ellie Goulding so I'm slightly surprised at Burn taking off as well as it has. I personally think Leona's demo of the song is far, far superior to Ellie's version. Also, Anything Could Happen, being the glorious masterpiece it is, was never the hit I expected it to be. I clearly just don't get her like other people do. I hope Avicii manages another week at the top anyway.
  12. Miley has been dark red for the last 2 updates and Avicii has made up about 2%. Wonder if she could be losing steam already. I hope so. I'd much rather Avicii made it another week. Miley's song just does nothing for me at all. I'm shocked it's proving to be as popular as it is.
  13. Is it too optimistic to think that Icona Pop are already outselling The Wanted? They're number 1 on the albums chart to The Wanted's number 4. Surely that difference would more than cover the percentage difference on the singles chart? I'm really hopeful they can still get number 1. At the rate they're climbing I think they will. Yeah that's pretty much it I think. It means that in their first day on sale, Icona Pop have sold 77% of what Robin Thicke has sold in the last 2 days. So they're technically outselling him today (assuming it's still a 48 hour rolling chart).
  14. I was going to point this out but didn't want to. It's right though.
  15. Love this song, and I'm so glad we got a full version of it finally. It doesn't disappoint. It is certainly better than the singles given to Kree and Candice (even though Candice is my outright favourite singer by a country mile). Such a shame it has been prevented from charting. I can't understand why she has allowed this to happen though. It's her song. She wrote it before going on Idol, so why have they seemingly laid some sort of claim over it. It's very unfair, as she'd be doing extremely well on iTunes with it.

Oh I disagree. I think she's by far the best vocalist to come out of a talent show in many years. She showed that she could sing pretty much anything she wanted to, and had amazing depth, soul and technicality to her voice. I absolutely wanted her to win since the first live show. The singles are pretty naff though, as expected from Idol. However, Angie Miller's You Set Me Free was also released to iTunes in full form, and it's fantastic. Her duets on the finale results show were also bloody excellent. I'm wanting to be careful for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but in my opinion the winner's last performance from the first finale show (a more dramatic version of a song she did earlier in the series) was the highlight of the whole season for me. It was epic, emotional and gave me goosebumps. She ripped through the last 30 seconds of it and it was totally outstanding. I think this was by far the strongest final 2 (or probably 3) American Idol has ever seen. Any of them would have been worthy winners, but I'm glad I got the winner I really wanted.

The inclusion of Kathy Bates in a reportedly uber-evil role going head to head with Jessica Lange has me ridiculously excited :w00t:

I also thought this was fantastic, and so so funny (and a teeny tiny bad sad at one point). Definitely the best animated film I've seen in years. I got my geek on good and proper at all the different characters, and I'll definitely be watching it again soon.
  19. Wow. Will and Brit now down to 0.09375 according to Livepopbars. That's very impressive for James. I didn't quite expect him to get such a commanding lead. I know he'll drop off pretty rapidly from tomorrow, but he's surely heading for around 500k? Especially when the CD single sales are counted. Good for him.
  20. This is got to be one the biggest flops in recent memory for me. An official single, with a video and multiple TV performances, sitting outside the top 500 is just appalling. There's no way to dress it up, it's awful. I'd be particularly interested to hear Leona's reaction to what will likely be a bloody awful chart position next Sunday. I just can't even begin to imagine the thought process behind this complete disaster of a campaign. Changing their mind a few weeks before the single was due out was bad enough, but choosing a song as limp as this is mind boggling. I like Lovebird, it's a pretty song, but it was never ever going to be a successful single for anyone, let alone someone who desperately needs a career saving single at the moment. Oh dear.
  21. I can't see this album hanging around much. Lovebird has been performed on TV twice now, and is barely clinging on to a position in the top 1000, which is just appalling. It certainly isn't going to encourage many folk to rush out and buy the album. She'll be lucky to get to 75,000 at this rate. EDIT: Lovebird is currently at number 1395. That is shocking.
  22. Can I assume (or hope) that iTunes has reverted. The Girls are at number 6 on mine, at on kworb, which just updated.
  23. I don't like Stooshe's cover at all. It's not a patch on the original, and just sounds a bit cheap to me.
  24. Hmmm, I don't really understand the appeal of Bruno Mars' single. To my ears, it's just noisy. It's clearly very popular though. I have also just finished watching Jonathan Ross' show and it's the first time I have ever listened to Gangnam Style in full. It's not any better than I had imagined it would be from the snippets I'd heard already. The performance was nuts though, and it's clearly having a big effect on iTunes. This just isn't going away anytime soon is it? I'm not blown away by DNA either, which is disappointing, as I thought Wings was a fantastic pop song. Maybe I'll like it more after the performance, as that tends to happen. I'd like them to get another number 1 though, as that would be a fantastic start to their career, but it's looking likely that Bruno will take it this week.
  25. Glad Misha's already at 11 but that is a massive gap to make up to get to 10. I'm not sure she'll have the momentum to do that. Her EP is at 18 though, so that'll add a few sales on. I would be absolutely gutted if she stalls at 11 again. How unlucky.
