Sunday music quiz
Oooh I'm going to give this a go now. Sporcle used to be the way I passed my days at work. What a great site. EDIT: 25. However, a lot of them were blind guesses and I did run out of time, so if I'd got my finger out I might have been able to guess some more he he. Good quiz. Hard though.

iTunes Weekly Thread: W/C 4th November 2012
Really pleased Misha B is climbing reasonably quickly. Hope she gets a top 10. I just bought it, it's such a great song, and only 59p. Bonus.

'Glassheart' • Third Album
The album is down to 24 on the chart update now, and Trouble will be out of the top 200 on iTunes in the next update most likely. The single is going to disappear from the chart. That's a disastrous chart run.

I'd love Misha B to get a good top 10 placing. I think her track is fantastic, and far better than I expected. It's such a pity she's not getting an X Factor slot, because as far as live performers go, she's by far one of the best to have ever come out of that show.

UK's Top 10 Best Selling Male Solo Artists
No, this list is the top selling solo artists, not individual tracks.

'Glassheart' • Third Album
It's highly unlikely she's number 1 combined. Earlier in the week she was number 2 and 4 and she's still trailing him, so I think the battles over now unfortunately. I can see her losing by about 10k by the end of the week.
-
'Glassheart' • Third Album
Not off to the best start. She's number 2 in the midweeks, 2.5k behind Jake Bugg. Given that the sales are no doubt fairly low (surely no more than 10k at this stage) that's a big lead already. I hope she can pull it back over the week.

iTunes Album Chart: 2013
You're right, her CD is 28. I should have been more specific and said her album mp3 is number 1.

iTunes Album Chart: 2013
Leona's doing very well so far. Taking out the EPs, she currently 2 and 5 on the iTunes albums chart, which is very good. She's also number 1 on Amazon and top 5 with Play.com and HMV. I'm fairly confident she'll open at number 1. Fingers crossed, as it's an excellent album. It would be nice to see her get a third album number 1.

It updated just a little while ago on Kworb. She has closed in another 2% on number 10, but both Connor Maynard and Ne-Yo have moved up a bit too. I can't see her going higher than 13 to be honest.

I think you're underplaying her success somewhat. Better In Time made number 11 in the states, and sold 1.5 million copies. It easily sold over 2 million worldwide. Forgive Me made the top 5 here, and the year end top 100 so I wouldn't consider it a big underperformance at all. I Will Be and Happy both made Billboard top 100, despite the former having no promo, and Happy did sell half a million in the states and over 200k here. Echo, while not as big as Spirit, sill sold over 600k copies. There are artists who would sell their right leg to sell that amount on a second album here, so I'd imagine she was pretty pleased with that. And both Collide and I Got You have sold upwards of 150k each, so haven't been complete write offs. Also, she frequently gets paid to perform at private events all over the world. So, yes Trouble's performance so far is really underwhelming, but I think she deserves the praise she receives about her worldwide success.

Leona's in trouble I think. The performance was as good as it could have been, but there's no way she's making up that huge gap into the top 10 now. By the time Alan Carr comes round on Friday, I can see this being low top 30. It's not boding well for the album at all. Might we see a bit of an Alexandra Burke situation? Christ, I bloody well hope not.

"Trouble" (featuring Childish Gambino) • First Single
My worry is that this song has no massive vocal moment in it. It doesn't build, there's no drama in the vocal, and no money note at the end. I fear the performance is just going to go by without much fuss. That would obviously be a disaster, and I hope it doesn't happen, but I just can't see the live performance converting any new fans to the song. I very much hope that I'm proved 100% wrong.

A fairly slow start for Leona. It's after 10am, and she's only number 102. I think she's going to struggle this week, but I sincerely hope she doesn't miss the top 10. Adele's lead is enormous now. Even though SHM are nearing the top 10 and have another version in the top 50 they're only at 10% of Adele when combined. Leona needs a massive boost today.

"Trouble" (featuring Childish Gambino) • First Single
I think she'll be doing very well to get a top 5 at the moment, but I'm starting to have serious doubts about that. Swedish House Mafia have massive pre-orders, so they're going to start really strong, and Adele/Rihanna/PSY are going to prove hard to catch for Leona I think. The performance in Ireland is very disappointing. I hope the X Factor can give her a boost, but this isn't shaping up to be the big album launch single I hoped it would be.

iTunes Weekly Thread: W/C 7th October 2012
I expect SHM to have a good shout at the number 1, if Adele loses some steam over the next day or two. I'd really like Leona to come out of the blocks strongly, so that the X Factor performance can maintain that, but I don't see it happening. I'd say she should be lucky to get top 5, which is a bit disappointing. I'd have loved her to come back with a massive number 1, but hey ho.

X Factor 2012 - live shows week 1
Absolutely loved Carolynne tonight. I worry, as I doubt the majority of the young voters are really going to go for that, but I adore her. She's a technically fantastic singer. She hits her runs and riffs in exactly the right place, and she has a lovely tone. Best vocal of the night for me. :D Ella was also good, but not as great as I was expecting. Jahmene was horrendous. The first verse was lovely, but the oversinging and the adlibbing all over the melody were completely ridiculous. On Imagine? Really? The groups were all rubbish. The boys were forgettable, apart from Rylan. However, he's just completely unlikeable. He fulfils every negative stereotype of a gay man that has ever existed, and I found myself getting really angry watching him mince his way through that. He's just vile, and embarrassing :puke2:

Am I doing something wrong? All the X Factor tracks are showing as pre-order only for me. Says they're expected on Monday, but yet boasts about how they'll be available within hours of the performance. What's that all about?

Your Favourite Movies of all Time
Oh christ, I always struggle trying to do this, but here goes (I don't think I could put them in order though): 1. Shawshank Redemption 2. Beetlejuice 3. Scream 4. Nightmare on Elm Street 5. A Beautiful Thing 6. Death At A Funeral (original UK version) 7. Forrest Gump 8. Jumpin Jack Flash 9. Labyrinth 10. Requiem For A Dream 11. Misery 12. The Matrix 13. Adventures In Babysitting (the best of 80's cheese) 14. Dirty Dancing 15. Lord of the Rings (all 3, I couldn't choose just one)

How did Lucy Spraggan get another track in the top 100, and what is it? That's not one she has sung on the show. I thought all the acts had to remove any music they had on iTunes, or did I pick that up wrong?
-
iTunes Weekly Thread: W/C 16th September 2012
Seriously? I honestly thought they were largely derided by, well pretty much everyone. I can't think of their albums being massive at all. Did any of them go platinum? Unless their success went totally over my head, I always just thought they were a short lived, really bloody awful and a perfect example of cheap and tacky "urban" music.

Fantastic remix. Love it.

Batman: The Dark Knight Rises
I don't get why some people found Bane hard to understand, and suspect it may be down to the sound in individual cinemas. In ours, his voice was crystal clear and actually was considerably louder and clearer than the rest of the audio track, making it quite obvious that it was dubbed/worked on in post-production. But there were no issues with understanding him at all.
