I'm so pleased at Euphoria's success. It also has another version at 178, and she's at 45 on the albums chart with the EP. It really does look promising for a number 1 :yahoo:

I really wanted Loreen to have an epic video for Euphoria, just to help the song along a little. Alas, doesn't look we'll get one. I don't think she'll have any trouble getting top 5 with this, especially tomorrow when people who were out tonight see who won and check the song out for the first time. That'll pick her up a few extra sales.

'Glassheart' • Third Album
I actually really like that song. I see from the comments that some people prefer Miho's voice to Leona's on this, but I disagree with that. This song sits so well in Leona's range, it sounds great to my ears. Miho's voice actually sounds a bit more processed than Leona's does, and I don't really like that. Really nice song though.

Eurovision 2012 · Rehearsals
I'm slowly coming round to more of the songs after watching some of the rehearsal videos. The Hump was much better 2nd time around, and I think we'll do ok this year. We definitely don't deserve to be bringing up the rear with that song, it's actually pretty respectable. For me though, it's all about Loreen. Her 2nd rehearsal was magic. I like the staging, with the wind machine and just her for the majority of the track, and it all comes down to that voice and THAT CHORUS!! Depending on her placing in the running order, she could walk this. I can't believe that there is even a question over whether she will qualify or not though

The Payphone video has been out for a while hasn't it? I watched it well over a week ago anyway.

Top 200 Best Selling Boy Band/ Girl Group Singles 88-04
I don't think the intention was to release it, but it did appear as the opening track on his 2CD Very Best Of. As far as I'm aware he did record it before Boyzone though. He also recorded A Kiss Is A Terrible Thing To Waste, also from Whistle Down The Wind. I think because they were both written by Steinman, it would be safe to assume that Meat got his chops around the tracks before anyone else.

I really disliked the Boyzone version of No Matter What. In my opinion, Meat Loaf's was miles better. However, his was far too theatrical (it included the intro/outro) to be released. Still, his voice has 100x the emotion of Boyzone's version, it's amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4g4kKzsmj0U...feature=related

The Avengers - May 4th 2012
So, the actual total is in and it's $207 million. Amazing. Even taking into account the higher prices for 3D showings, the film is still the fastest grossing ever. Taking away the 3D premium it would still have had a gross of over $170 million.

Your Top 20 Songs Of All-Time | REVISITED
At least 3 songs have come on my phone this morning that I would place on my list. I knew this was an impossible task. I did however edit my post to include Marina and the Diamonds - Numb. That chorus!! That song does something to me that I can't explain. I think it's just the combination of the vocal, the piano track, and the epic chorus harmonies. Amazing.

The Avengers - May 4th 2012
Holy shit. The Avengers just earned $200 million in its opening weekend in the states, so $31 million more than Harry Potter. Totally smashed the record. It's now sitting at $650 million worldwide after just over a week!! Amazing.

I actually remember liking All Saints' version of Under The Bridge. I must have been on glue back then because it's really quite rancid.

Your Top 20 Songs Of All-Time | REVISITED
Hmm I'll try to throw my hat in the ring then. I've never even attempted a top 10 or 20 of all time, so this is tough. There's no way on earth I could put them in order, so it's just a random list from me. It's a real mixture of genres and I'm hesitant to put too many newer songs in because it's impossible to tell if they'll stand the test of time yet. Here goes... REM - Nightswimming Kate Bush - This Woman's Work Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell Meat Loaf - Couldn't Have Said It Better Counting Crows - Colorblind Robyn - Dancing On My Own Pat Benatar - Love Is A Battlefield Tina Turner - River Deep Mountain High Heart - Alone Heart - All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You Madonna - Like A Prayer ABBA - Lay All Your Love On Me ABBA - Angel Eyes Alannah Myles - Black Velvet Belinda Carlisle - Heaven/Leave a Light On (I can't decide here, but I'm not having them both) Wicked - Defying Gravity (either the original Idina Menzel version or Kerry Ellis' rock version - both equally as good in different ways) Corona - Baby Baby (I know, I know, but I was a 90s child, what can I say?) Leona Lewis - Run/Broken/Happy/Bleeding Love (she's only getting one on my final list, but I don't know which yet) N-Trance and Kelly Llorenna - Set You Free (best dance track ever in my opinion) Marina and the Diamonds - Numb So that's 20. I'm not sure if I've made good choices or not, and I'm 100% positive I'll want to change some of them the longer I think about it. That was hard!

I can recall seeing something being performed to that song at some point over the weekend. I can't for the life of me remember what it was though.

That's certainly high praise. I just listened to Believe Again for the first time, expecting a complete stormer of a pop song. It doesn't go anywhere at all. I'd say Delta has a good few songs that are ten times better than that, and I don't even know much of her work after her first album. Different strokes for different folks though I suppose. Also just listened to Sitting On Top Of The World for the first time (which is miles better than Believe Again in my opinion) and it's quite a jaunty little tune. I hope it gets considerably higher than top 900. Talking about her first album though, Lost Without You, Innocent Eyes and Predictable remain cracking pop songs.

iTunes Chart: Weekly Thread W/C 8th April 2012
Yeah, I'm a bit miffed that Ordinary People is so high. I just could never see the big deal with the song, it's just so..well, ordinary. However, the way it was used on The Voice, particularly in the last 5 minutes, was very effective. I knew we'd be seeing it charting high again, but I certainly didn't expect it to hit so hard so quickly. I'm actually more impressed with the Maxwell/Kate Bush situation though. The girl who sang it was very good, but I'm shocked that it has motivated enough people to go and actively look for it. I'm pleased about it though.

iTunes Chart: Weekly Thread W/C 8th April 2012
No offence, but I just can't even begin to understand that point of view. Just because you like a song, you don't think anyone else should be allowed to like it? So, if it being used on a show brings it to a new audience that has never heard of it before, making them download the original version, therefore bringing it a lot more recognition, that's a bad thing? Personally, This Woman's Work is a song I'd heard years ago, loved it and actually completely forgot about it. Now, it's made me rediscover it and love it all over again. I can't see the negative in that situation. Just because you heard it before someone else, you think that means you're entitled to some exclusivity over it? Surely you don't actually think like that? Oh, and just because this has made me go and download the song today certainly doesn't make me a moron, thanks very much.

This!!! It is one thing that I've never been able to stand about DC3 and Beyonce in general actually. The chorus was almost mimed with Bey just wailing some random runs and adlibs over the track. I hated it, and I still can't watch any of their performances from that era.

The Born This Way Ball Tour
I know that some of the prices are quite high, but given the last leg of the Monster Ball was £75 I think it would have been a bit naive to expect this to come in at less. She's been quite vocal about how much bigger this show will be in every way, so it kind of goes without saying that it will be more expensive. Also, which artist nowadays charges less for the new tour than they did for the last one? It's not as if she needs to lower the price to entice people to come. Look at Kylie - she just charged almost £80 for a tour of b-sides and unreleased material, with absolutely no production value at all. Now, that is greedy if you ask me. At least you're getting a show out of Gaga.

Oh, if she announces Scottish dates, I'll be getting those tickets too. Way I see it, I'll at least e guarunteed to be able to sell them on if I decide to only go once.

The Born This Way Ball Tour
2 seats bought for Manchester, in block 109, the lower tiered block directly facing the stage. That'll do me fine. Just thankful I got them at all to be honest. A little jaunt to Manchester for a few days will be fab, I've been looking forward to going back since I saw Robyn there last year. Yippeeee!

So, we're only getting two dates? Christ almighty. Presale for o2 customers is tomorrow (I would be on Vodafone though, grrrrrr). These tickets are going to sell out in minutes
