Yeah the numbers are astonishing. In one hour, it beat Infinity War's first full day of presales. In three hours, it beat Infinity War's first full week. With every day that passes, the possibility of a $1bn global opening weekend is getting closer and closer. $850m at least seems almost certain at this point.
  2. 10 Asylum 09 Roanoke 08 Murder House 08 Coven 7.5 Apocalypse 07 Hotel 05 Cult 04 Freakshow Asylum is the only correct answer for the best season. It's amazing and even better on the 2nd (or 3rd) watch. Same goes for Roanoke, Murder House and Coven actually. They really do benefit from multiple viewings. I haven't managed to watch any of the others again. I will definitely watch Apocalypse and Hotel for a 2nd time, but Cult and Freakshow are a no-go for me. They were really poor. I don't know what it was about Roanoke that some people don't like. It's so good - it's genuinely scary in parts, extremely gruesome, has great characters and some nice little twists. I loved it.

I think Maleficent will do pretty well. The first one did way better than most expected. We'll need to wait until we see the first trailers to judge that one properly though. Artemis for the flop. I can't see that doing any better than Dumbo to be honest. For everything else, the answer is Endgame. 2019 will belong to the Avengers, but The Lion King and Frozen are going to do big things too. I'll see both of them and Aladdin. I'm not bothered about Toy Story, which is shocking, but it looks like a rehash and Toy Story 3 was the perfect end so there's that. It'll still be huge though. I couldn't give less of a toss about Star Wars.

Full trailer is out. My god almighty it looks fantastic. Those last few seconds after the cast names made me smile so much. 7TavVZMewpY

Absolute perfection. I'm so sad it's finished but my god did she get it just right. Everything was spot on. I'm really going to miss Claire now. What an icon. I'm glad she got the ending she deserved too. And I hadn't even considered that *we* were her best friend - a symbol of her guilt and grief, forever hanging over her. That makes so much sense.
  6. I'm not loving the video. It's so cringey when they appear in their fancy dress shop Narnia outfits. They performed this really well at the Eurovision party. The vocals were excellent and it's just a really good pop song. It may do absolutely nothing at all in the final (if it even qualifies) but I really love it. N1hWpMNs76Y
  7. I immediately thought of Nina when that ventriloquist was on. I did laugh at him, but it was only because David went all out for him. Other than that, he wasn't nearly as good at the actual ventriloquism and voices as Nina was. The head teacher made my heart melt. That was so beautiful to watch. He clearly loves those kids to bits and they had the time of their lives up there.
  8. I'm enjoying the new season, though it's just not the same without Heidi and Tim. Not even close. That camping/survival wear challenge was a choice. Those poor models. As for All Stars - I was team Irina all the way. I couldn't stand Michelle this time around, she came across horribly. At least Irina was honest about stuff and wasn't there for the pity parties they like to throw for themselves. And when we found out what her and her family are going through, I was devastated for her. Having to hold it together when her mum told her on camera that her cancer had got worse - oh my god, that was awful.
  9. I've not been a fan of Scarlett up to this point, but come on now, that lip sync was a slam dunk. She really performed that song well. It shouldn't have even been difficult to decide. I'd decided she was the winner about 20 seconds into it. What a terrible result.

I only just discovered this at the weekend so watched series 1 and I'm just 1 episode into series 2. It's incredible. The writing, the acting, the chemistry - everything is so perfect. Fleabag, Claire and stepmum are 3 amazing characters, all perfectly played. It's just so much fun watching everyone to catch all the little facial reactions - especially Olivia Colman. Queen of face acting. And the fourth-wall breaking is expertly done.
  11. There are people who have heard her version and it's apparently very similar, aside from the vocals. The rumour was that it was a piano version at first, but someone later came out to say that wasn't true and it was just like the version we know now.
  12. I'm slightly obsessed with this song. The chorus melody and harmonies are glorious. With epic staging, this could be a moment.
  13. Ah yeah that's right, I had actually read that before. Still, it was close. I'd have loved to have heard Leona's take on it, but of course Beyonce's is brilliant.
  14. Interesting that both Halo and Burn were shipped to Leona first, so she'd potentially have 3 in the top 5. I still prefer her version of Burn. The vocal is awesome. Gutted she never recorded Halo.

Hmmmm. I love the characters and Toy Story 3 is one of my favourite movies ever, but I'm not feeling hyped about this one. The last one ended so perfectly, I wanted them to just leave it there and maybe just do a few more of the short movies like The Land That Time Forgot or Toy Story of Terror, as they were amazing. There were parts of that trailer that looked like rehashes from the previous movies. I'm really disappointed that this isn't making me excited at all.

It's making me anxious that you've not seen any of the Avengers movies, or Thor. If you think GotG 2 is the best, oh wow you're in for a treat.

Me and my hubby are approved foster carers and we adopted our son when he was a baby, 5 years ago. From the point of view of the emotional impact, the movie was really great. It was so funny, and just well written. I liked the exaggerated support group (though it's actually not far from reality).

Season 2 finishes next week. It's really short. 4 hotels. The 2 highest scorers go through to a final. They get $10,000 to make improvements based on their feedback from the first stay. It's been good, albeit too short. The hotels have all had positives and negatives, but the 2 finalists really are pretty spectacular. The improvements the first one made with their cash injection really took it to another level. Looking forward to seeing the other finalist next week.

Stan's cameo was so sweet, especially that little knowing smile she gives him. And I loved the tribute in the opening Marvel logo into.

I largely agree with that list, but I'd move Ragnarok right up to the top 3. I friggin LOVE that movie. I'd watch it again before Black Panther (which is still amazing). I will be devastated if Endgame doesn't go straight to the top though. I have faith though.
  22. I don't understand this view. She was being called out publicly for not addressing the situation. What should she have done in your opinion? Ignored it and stayed silent? She's a vocal campaigner against abuse - doing that would have undermined all the work she has done. She had to respond. And the only way to respond was to acknowledge that it was a bad decision on her part to have worked with him. The song had to come down. Even though the meaning of the song is deeper than the initial lyrics would suggest, the words "do what you want with my body" in a song featuring an accused, serial abuser is impossible to justify. Removing the song was her decision to make and it's really a no-brainer. I respect her for the well-worded, honest statement she put out.

God this was so good. Brie exceeded my expectations. Which is a weird thing to say about an Oscar winner, but I was slightly concerned she was going to be a bit cold and lacking personality. I absolutely loved her though. Everything was done so well, from the de-ageing effects on Fury and Coulson, to Goose, to Carol's powers. It was visually stunning. From the moment her suit changes to red and blue, it was balls to the wall epic. And I said this in the Endgame thread last week, but I suspected that Thanos would find a way to weaken her on their first meeting (maybe using the Power stone or something) and that absolutely MUST be true. Otherwise, she need only breathe on him and he's toast. She was an absolute powerhouse by the end of the movie - just imagine what she can do now, 20 years later.

I've seen part 1 and will watch part 2 tonight. It's a bit more....explicit than I expected. But then I've never read into the original case so I don't know how much detail was ever released. It's quite uncomfortable though.
  25. It's looking very likely, yes. Their strong download numbers (approx 115k) and the fact that they increased hugely across all metrics will almost definitely swing it for them.
