Spice Girls - Chart Runs & Sales Thread: UK
Such a shame as some people will look at these totals and think ‘those songs weren’t big’ as they’ll compare them to the over inflated streaming sales of today What’s so amazing is 90% of their single sales are pure cd and download sales I do wish songs like Viva Forever had a higher sales total - it’s such an underrated single.

Spice Girls - Chart Runs & Sales Thread: UK
It’s done 58k since May 2019 when we got the last official OCC update of 740k that’s 2k a month on average so it should be 800k by August and hopefully be nearer to 810k by the end of the year

I know the album was #1 on the International album chart. I wasn't sure if there was a general Oricon singles chart and an international Oricon singles chart. Thanks for the info :)

Spice Girls - Chart Runs & Sales Thread: Worldwide
This article in Music and Media states that during one particular week in August 1996 "Wannabe" was No.2 on the Oricon Singles Chart in Japan. I always thought "Wannabe" was #1 in Japan on a chart, but officially the SG Oricon page says the position was No.50. Were there multiple charts, if so does anyone know the actual chart position? Thank you. Article is on page 7 Music and Media

Stop peaked at #2 in Guatemala sometime in 1998. Someone's added it to their Stop Wikipedia page, which is a nice find :cheer: I wonder if it got to #1 there at all? :D

Would be nice if it could stay in the Top 10 a little bit longer as it's visible at the moment. If Holler does reappear soon hopefully the vinyl release will help FYL on streaming again.

Spice Girls vs. other UK girl groups
I have no idea. It's baffling you'd think Whole Again would be their most streamed song. I did look on Wiki and it seems that TTIH was used in various adverts and movies and was a staple on Radio Disney for a couple of years in the U.S. so maybe that's benefitted the song. But as it's a cover you wouldn't think it would be that memorable.

Spice Girls • General Discussion
That’s very true what you say Jay about the viewers v touring When there’s an artist on TV at a festival or a live TV performance it usually makes more impact than say a tour itself, unless you want to reminisce and look back. I’d totally be here for a Glastonbury performance and Simon, the girls and the label shouldn’t worry about there being some kind of televised performance to keep we still want a tour.

Exactly, still impressive for the last two weeks of the year. I mean 2B1 was in the Top 5 and released two weeks before the end of 1996 but that was a massive seller for them.
