  1. In general I don't think hosts can necessarily 'choose' which songs they can play.
  2. Nice there’s a bit of activity in the lead up. Emma and Melanie C both hosting shows on radio tonight, the special hosted by Richard E.Grant and various articles. Hopefully there’ll be some fun posts this coming week
  3. "Wannabe" is only 20 million behind Fifth Harmony's "Worth It" on Spotify. At the start of this year the gap was 50 million :smoke:
  4. Wannabe has finally reached 600 million streams on Spotify :cheer:
  5. Wannabe should get to 600m streams on Spotify this week. My guess is Thursday (July 1st) 😊
  6. I always felt June 28th was when the Spice era truly began. Appearance and performance of "Wannabe" on GMTV 25 years ago today
  7. I can’t believe that was 14 years ago. Time flies. I was glued to sky news that day and I was only on MySpace at the time 🤭
  8. Wannabe nearly did 493,000 streams yesterday. Let's hope it crosses the 500k mark leading up to the anniversary.
  9. SUYL has knocked 2B1 down one place to number 4 and is now the 3rd most popular song on the Spice Girls Spotify page after Wannabe and Stop
  10. The BTW album has done 992k in pure sales. 8k away from 1M
  11. Spice was definitely at 23m by 2000. Even with digital sales, cds and vinyls over the last 20 years it could potentially be 25m at least in terms of ‘sales’ with streaming units it could be nearer to 30m. But I’ll take the 31m Spiceworld did 13-15m by 98/99. I would guess 17m seems like a fair total. I wish it had done 20m. As Jay says, there’s so many sources and different articles all with different totals 🤪
  12. Imagine a third album era with goodbye for Christmas 1998 followed by an album in early 1999 and at least 2-3 singles. If the album did 10 million tops plus a million a single, then the era would have added another 15m to their total and probably more no.1s to their catalogue
  13. I don’t remember Mel B’s chart position for ‘Brutally Honest’ but I’m sure I read sales were 250k I’m pretty certain Geri did half a million copies.
  14. Clip of Melanie on GMB this morning @1405796395433529350
  15. After 1998 most of Wannabe sales probably did start again until the mid 2000s when the digital era took hold. Any paid for sales that Wannabe has done in the last 15 years will be downloads.
  16. Since the 90s it’s gone from Gold in Germany (250k) to platinum (500k) in 2018. Also it went Gold in Japan in 2011 for 100k digital sales. It was also certified Platinum in Italy (digital and streaming) as it was already 6x plat back in the 90s. And lastly it would have sold a few copies back in the 90s, but it was certified gold in 2018 for sales of 45k. As for the U.S. it was at 1.8m by the end of 1997 and as of 2014 it was 2.91m It will easily be over 10 million by now I would have thought, excluding streams.
  17. That would definitely be the best way to go 🙏
  18. I’m more likely to play a CD out of all the formats. But at least we get streaming and digital too
  19. Wannabe's total UK sales - 2,033,880 Source: Music Week
  20. Yes you have to wait a little longer ☺️
  21. You’ll definitely need to keep an eye out as Sammy says
  22. You’ll get something nice for the Anniversary
  23. Can’t wait for the celebrations to begin
  24. Stop has reached 98m streams on Spotify. It does exactly 2m streams a month so this time next month it will be over 100m :cheer: :magic:
  25. Suspended back in 2018 for 'impersonation' even though all the girls interacted with our page and I never claimed to be the 'spice girls'. But I'm back for the 25th anniversary celebrations :cheer:
