  1. Very intense. Must have been difficult for Melanie to film with it being so close to home for her. Very proud of her.
  2. You’ve hit the nail on the head. The biggest music act, not only in the UK, but in the world in 1997 gets snubbed at the BRITs in 1998. They basically got snubbed in 1998/1999 for albums, singles and video nominations bar SUYL. It baffles me because even though Geri had left by May 98 they had an incredible 96-98 and for the BRITs to not properly acknowledge them in 1998/99 is astonishing. In the last ten years when someone like Adele or Dua Lipa has a big year they get nominated in every major category. So many fan bases also complain about their favourite artists and groups not winning awards and I think to myself imagine being a Spice Girls fan in the late 90s because they deserved so much more.
  3. Spice Girls YouTube Channel has reached 900k subscribers. Coming for that 1m (which will make it look better) The channel will also be reaching a combined 1 billion views this year too :cheer:
  4. Nice that they acknowledged previous girl group nominees. A nice touch. Long overdue that a girl group won.
  5. Well Adele's album sales are phenomenal compared to anyone in the charts but she hasn't released that many records. Only 3 albums and a dozen singles.
  6. Ed Sheeran at 62m. Oh dear :heehee: :kink:
  7. Respect to them for acknowledging previous girl group nominees. I bang on about it but I remember thinking if a girl group like the SG can't get nominated in 1998 after a year like 1997 what hope is there for a female group in winning the award? It's taken a long time for it to happen.
  8. Cute. I do love the shoot.
  9. "Mama" did another 30k streams on Monday which is more than double it's daily average. Nice to know it'll get a boost every March and May when Mother's Day is celebrated. Also in January 2021, "Wannabe" and Fifth Harmony's "Worth It" had a gap of 50 million streams and now it's 35m so the gap is closing. Fingers crossed with the big 25th anniversary this should be the second most streamed girl group song on Spotify.
  10. Spotify listeners up to 8.3m now, the highest since the 2019 tour. "Mama" usually does 10-13k streams a day. It did around 30-35k streams on Mother's Day in the UK back in March. Yesterday it was played over 80k times.
  11. No they count as stand alone sales, unfortunately
  12. So Wannabe does around 8k a month. I think during 2019/2020 it was doing 10-11k a month. I guess the tour probably helped its increase. It'll definitely reach 2m units soon, which is exciting.
  13. Spice Girls are 2k away from 8.1m monthly listeners on Spotify. Wannabe and Stop remain consistent and both should reach their big milestones in July! :cheer: 600m and 100m respectively.
  14. The 'All Out 90s' Playlist on Spotify was updated last week. Spice Girls are the cover image and six of their songs appear on the 150 track playlist. Wannabe, WDYTYA and SYBT all feature in the Top 20. The playlist also has over 6.5 million likes. I'm sure that's helped their listeners to increase too.
  15. Hopefully that will increase over the next few months
  16. Spice Girls have crossed 8 million monthly listeners on Spotify. I don't think it's been that high since the 2019 tour. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  17. Some anniversary stories, facts and charts coming soon on my Instagram ☺️
  18. I remember getting this on cd single. I think it’s definitely a well remembered cover as Jay says and I think Geri pulled it off.
  19. As ‘millionaires’ combine pure sales and streams here is the list of female artists with the most million-sellers in the UK which are pure sales (CD singles and downloads) 4 - Rihanna 3 - Adele 2 - Celine Dion, Katy Perry, Kylie, Lady Gaga, Spice Girls
  20. That’s because ‘millionaires’ include streaming units, so it will always be more in favour of recent artists.
  21. Spice Girls won the HMV poll. Still waiting to see what the prize is :drink:
